Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1045 of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Dale Carnegie, and it is, “Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.”
Success From Failures
Success cannot be fully realized except in the light of the failures that we must go through in order to achieve it. We must learn to develop success from our greatest failures. We must understand that we will become discouraged and, at times, our hope will fade. It is only then that we can recognize and appreciate success when it comes.
Each decision we make, every action that we take is a step toward the success that we desire to achieve. In fact, discouragement and failures are the very stepping stone that we need to navigate over the murky slime that would otherwise engulf us. God never promises us that our path will be clear, nor that we will be free from hardship and anguish. He does promise us that He will guide and direct us. He does promise us that He will give us the strength and courage that we need.
He will see us through the discouragements and failures that we will inevitably face. It is then that we will realize the sweet success that we desire, and also realize that as long as we follow God’s precepts, then He will place the stepping stones along our path that will allow us to live a rich and satisfying life each day.
Deuteronomy 8:18 says, “Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.”
