Vitafoods Insights:
Welcome to our December reflections & prediction series. Shall we welcome today's expert?
George:
My name is George Paraskevakos. I am the Executive Director of the International probiotics Association. We saw this past year the pandemic continues to be top of mind for many, and the underlying factor for consumers thirst for products which support overall health and wellness. We also saw continued surge in probiotic sales from a bricks and mortar perspective, but also a big growth spurt on ecommerce platforms for probiotics, especially when Amazon also reported probiotics category was the number one revenue ranking VMS category on their platform. looking into the future I think the continuation of research in the probiotic field will really continue to trend upwards, an increase of the use of the word microbiome, and we will see more products on the market using terms biotic.
