In this episode, I'm' talking about how (and why) to pause & reset your body when you’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed. And why it's so important!
I’m sure you’ve had some really tough moments over the past few weeks. Moments when you’ve been stuck in what I call Mad Mom Syndrome.
You know what I'm talking about -
- Moments when your child is a bit off track and you get upset and all of a sudden you are yelling, threatening and lecturing…followed by guilt and rushed apologies.
- Moments you are worried that the behavior you see in the present is a predictor of the future and you act super strict and controlling.
- Moments when you are frustrated and say a snide or mean remark to your kid.
Those types of moments are a clue that you are in your stress cycle and feeling emotionally overwhelmed.
You become super reactive and respond to your children with stress, anxiety, frustration or anger.
The rage kicks in, your body takes over and you do all sorts of yelling.
Or, instead of exploding, you implode and check out with a cold icy stare at your kid.
When this surge of stress juice ends, you start to feel calmer and think more clearly…
But if you showed up as a 'mad mom', you probably also end up feeling bad and beating yourself up for not being calm.
Today I’m helping you understand why this happens in the first place and what you can do to reset when you feel the stress starting to take over.
You'll Learn:
- Why ‘mad mom’ moments really happen (it’s not just about your kid’s behavior)
- The one tool you need to shift from stressed and reactive to CALM
- The benefits of taking a Pause Break
- Why you need to move your body to quiet your mind
- Practical actions you can take to reset your body quickly, in the moment
- What to say to your kids when you lose your cool
