I don't know if you guys have experienced this. I've sent some post pandemic blues, post pandemic apathy, maybe some confusion, overwhelm tiredness, but people just seem a bit jaded. And part of the reason why is because of the confusion that's come in from us going through all of what we went through the last couple of years. And now for so much of that just to be cast aside, when things don't seem to have changed that much. But suddenly, we're just approaching it from a completely different place. And a lot of the messages we heard for so long have stopped and then now, other messages have started. And it's like, none of this seems to make much sense. And then you get overwhelmed with all this new information, your heads already spinning from what's going on. And whether you're experiencing that because of what's gone on the last couple of years or like from a more of a global perspective, or that's just how it's been for you from a very, very personal perspective is that you suddenly get you get faced with a whole new set of ideas, beliefs, truths. And things start to make sense in a different way for you. The confusion is because you've been so used to a certain way for so long that now you're experiencing all these different ways. And part of you goes, Oh, well, if this is true, what else have I believed that? I thought was true. That's just not. And then of course, as you dig a bit, you suddenly have a whole lot of information coming your way. Maybe listening to other podcasts, maybe read more, being down some YouTube rabbit holes, you know, that's like you jump on to watch one five minute video and then seven videos, Lady, are you finding out about all of the and unknown facts about the JFK assassination, that sort of rabbit hole? Or whatever it may be for you? Yeah, thinking about my young fella, and he's gaming, he's all sorts of different rabbit holes for him. But it's the same sort of trap, right? And then we just get so overwhelmed with information that we can't focus. So what do we do? Well, firstly, it's being open to a new way is the first step. So be open to the fact that maybe about some things you were wrong. Not necessarily wrong. Well, is that in some cases, just wrong. But others, it's more like, well, you just knew what you knew at the time. Turns out that your beliefs needed an upgrade turns out that now being presented with new information that you can look at things differently. I remember having a conversation with a mate and he's gone. I just know what used to say before might Yeah, that's because I have changed, I've changed my opinion have had new information presented to me. And now I think this way. And that can happen like 10 times a day now like just being continually open. Because I run it through a few different filters, personal filters that I have on I just take everything that I hear or read as gospel, I trust my instincts on a whole lot of different things. I also will first try and find out more data on different things. But ultimately, I'm open to what might be different. I'm definitely very open to knowing that I've been wrong many, many times before, and I'm okay with that.
Now, one of my early mentors talked about that, you know, letting go of that need to be right. Whether it's in an argument, whether it's in a conversation, whether it's your own personal journey, just admitting that you you're not always right. And maybe in this one, you're not right, because it allows you to go through a whole state of change of x banshan of amplifying your own unique gifts and strengths. Another thing to do is find your clarity. If it's something that is really bothering you get down on paper, or type out what you do know what you do know to be true. Now for something that's really personal that might be important for bigger issues like global issues, I don't see that as important, I actually think what you should be doing is sticking to what you can control. And what you can ultimately only control is what you bring to the table. So focus on that, where can you change? Where can you be better? Where can you practice self responsibility? When can you be strict? Where can you be stronger? Where can you be more courageous? Where can you be more respectful, more authentic, more in your integrity, sticking to your values, living them being true to them. All of these things allow you to find the clarity that will significantly reduce the confusion and the overwhelm. And the other important thing to do is commit to action. Take action on what you know you need to take action on. It couldn't sit around and doubt yourself, you could sit around and go oh, I'm not sure he just couldn't do it. Sometimes he just couldn't get on with it and get it done. Have the courage. Take some deep breaths and just go Alright, I'm going to push on here, I'm going to get it done. And one of the best ways to do that is making a commitment to a friend or a colleague or someone close to you. Or of course a coach or a mentor. And let them know what you're committing to what action you're committing to. And when you're going to have it done by having left corporate where everything accountability It was built in. I had to build this myself. So I built in my own accountability in saying that I still get the best performance when I'm in a team and I have people holding me accountable. So I've built those measures in place in my business as well. I have people now on my team who hold me accountable and allow me to get some of those things done that otherwise I might have procrastinated on. Just remembering that confusion and overwhelm is a good thing. Be open to a new way. Be okay with being wrong. Find your clarity stick to what you can control and then commit to action.
