I am so excited for you to start on this journey with me to becoming the boss of your own money, what most people call financial freedom. It's been 16 years since I started my journey as a financial planner and now I have a son to go along with that journey of not only helping others attain financial freedom but also in helping my family maintain it. This is one of the main parts of the journey I love to share with everyone on their way to not being bogged down by the stress of money in their lives.

Over the past 16 years of helping families and small businesses build a "money roadmap" I've been able to reflect back to how I started my whole journey into finances. I've always loved money firstly, it's a constantly changing mystery and has always peaked my interest. It actually took me away from becoming a doctor when I was in college. 

With finances I could help people a lot faster than 5-7 more years of schooling (not to mention I'd save a lot more of my own finances by doing so). It was this focus of helping people that really directed my attention and energy. I live by the motto of your focus determines your priority. For example, if you focus too much on the complicated pieces and parts of finances you'll most likely be incredibly confused.

As a mother, father, spouse, or even just small business owner we can't afford to not have our focus on things that don't help us have the life we deserve. You don't need to spend multiple hours each day on the latest financial jargon, you just need to manage your focus.
