Shownotes

As business owners, it is easy to constantly assess ourselves. Am I doing enough? Should this be working by now? In this episode, I explain how constant self assessment can undermine confidence.

I talk about the difference between reflection and self judgement, and why over analysing every step creates pressure rather than clarity. This episode is for tutors and education business owners who want more confidence, clearer thinking and healthier business growth.

Enjoy :-)

Sumantha:

As business owners, we are constantly assessing ourselves. Am I doing enough? Am I making the right decisions? Should this be working by now? Reflection is valuable, but constant self assessment can quietly erode your confidence. When you are always measuring yourself, there is very little space to actually be in the work.

Sumantha:

Assessing yourself is not the same as reflecting. It often means starting the day with judgement rather than curiosity, and over time that constant judgement becomes exhausting. Not every action needs immediate evaluation. Some things need time to play out before they can be properly understood.

Sumantha:

There is a real difference between checking in with yourself and scrutinising yourself. One builds awareness, the other creates pressure. If you find yourself analysing your performance all the time, it can help to create set moments for reflection rather than doing it constantly.

Sumantha:

Trust that you do not need to assess every step to be moving in the right direction. Confidence often grows when you stop watching yourself quite so closely.
