Speaker:

Welcome to 12-Minute Converse with Jesus Believers.

Speaker:

God chose first to have a conversation with us, his creation.

Speaker:

Our prayer is that this listening space brings growth and transforms your life forever.

Speaker:

Praise God for you, Pastor Mataio.

Speaker:

It's a great pleasure to connect with you.

Speaker:

What part of the world are you in today?

Speaker:

A glory to God, I am in Kenya.

Speaker:

How long have you been a pastor?

Speaker:

Let's say from 2013.

Speaker:

13 years?

Speaker:

Yes, yes.

Speaker:

And what was the reason for you deciding that you would give your life to ministry?

Speaker:

Let's say that that is not something that you plan to do.

Speaker:

It is like you made the gospel, the gospel changed you, and from there things change, yes.

Speaker:

How did you meet Jesus?

Speaker:

I have met Jesus years ago in our rural area there.

Speaker:

Some preachers from town, let's say town, Nairobi, come to our place.

Speaker:

From that day I have received Jesus while I am in school, from those years, yes.

Speaker:

So how old are you now?

Speaker:

I am about 33.

Speaker:

Tell me what is your goal for what you are doing with your ministry where you are?

Speaker:

I am a pastor leading a church called Jesus Nation Church International, but I am a founder of a a movement called Interdenominational Global Gathering.

Speaker:

This is a vision that brings the body of Christ together and our mission and goal is to bring the church back to the altar of prayer and transform them to the true knowledge of Christ and to stand up believing in Christ and to bring the reality or the image of Christ on them, yes.

Speaker:

That is our goal.

Speaker:

What is the biggest challenge for getting that goal or making it possible where you are?

Speaker:

For sure, the challenges are very, are many, you know, especially on our, let's say, in Africa, in our villages, rural areas.

Speaker:

We have some places that we didn't reach there for gospel and that is our target to reach where it's unreachable.

Speaker:

And some of our people, I grew up in a community called Maasai people.

Speaker:

I am a Maasai and Maasai are those people who are tied up in culture.

Speaker:

So even going to school, it is very complicated to them.

Speaker:

How does the financial side of things work?

Speaker:

How are you getting money into the ministry to be able to do what you've done so far?

Speaker:

We have our church here in town and our church here in town is what we bring together, what we have.

Speaker:

And more than that, I met myself doing some kind of things out of what I'm, I call to do just to get, to have or to get some money to make sure that these things or what I'm telling you, it is, we make it happen.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

How have you seen God show up in your life consistently?

Speaker:

How have you seen God show up in your life miraculously, consistently?

Speaker:

Hallelujah.

Speaker:

That is a good question.

Speaker:

First of all, I'm based now in Kitingela and let's say I am a father and a husband, more than being a pastor.

Speaker:

And some years ago, when I have received the call, first of all, I have received the fire of prayer.

Speaker:

While I am in the village there, I was going through mountain forest to pray and continue to pray.

Speaker:

And that is where I have encounter God in miraculously.

Speaker:

And from there, I vacated from where I was in rural area and I located in town where I called Kitingela.

Speaker:

From Kitingela, from where I located, from the year I located in Kitingela till now, I want to tell you that I am not the person who was in the rural area.

Speaker:

I have seen God doing things in ways that I could not imagine.

Speaker:

I have seen God making things possible in a way that I could not even imagine.

Speaker:

When I come or I located in Kitingela, I was going street to street evangelism.

Speaker:

And I'm going there.

Speaker:

It is just me with my Bible.

Speaker:

I don't have microphone.

Speaker:

I don't have speaker.

Speaker:

I just preaching, preaching.

Speaker:

But I have seen God faithfulness, just follow his word and fulfill it in everywhere I stand to everybody that I express the gospel to.

Speaker:

Leave a message for future you listening to this conversation five years from today.

Speaker:

What's a message you'd leave for yourself?

Speaker:

Um, uh, God is, uh, faithful and God is taking, uh, everybody of us, uh, step by step.

Speaker:

It is glory to glory.

Speaker:

Uh, we, you can see maybe the situation is not, uh, uh, it's not speaking well to you, but what I, I, I can, uh, tell you is that, uh, in every step that we are making in every situation that we are going through, God is there.

Speaker:

God is faithful and God is making our way through it.

Speaker:

Amen.

Speaker:

My friend, this was a great pleasure.

Speaker:

Great.

Speaker:

This was a great honor in closing.

Speaker:

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Speaker:

I mean, I mean, uh, um, what I can, uh, talk is, um, uh, uh, apart from, apart from, uh, being a pastor, Pastor Matayo, uh, is a man called to, uh, uh, just make, uh, um, community and nations, uh, where the true, uh, or, uh, have the understood the true understanding of God and where the image of God, because we are on the time that, um, is not, um, is not very, um, I think I have stuck there.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It's a tumultuous time is the word I would use.

Speaker:

It's a challenging time in the history of mankind, isn't it?

Speaker:

Yes, yes, yes, yes.

Speaker:

So, um, let's live a life that to glorify God and less walk in a way that, uh, God will be glorified through us.

Speaker:

Amen.

Speaker:

Amen.

Speaker:

Amen.

Speaker:

I understand that there are many that may not understand in English, but if you speak in Swahili at the end here, yeah.

Speaker:

And then, and then we close off.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So go ahead and say what you wanted to say in Swahili.

Speaker:

In Swahili, in Swahili, in Swahili, I will talk to you, uh, maybe, uh, one or two minutes and I will tell who I am, uh, where I come from and where I am today.

Speaker:

Pastor Mattario, thank you for being on what is inspired by 12 minute conversations.
