On today's episode of the Becoming the Big Me Podcast your host Djemilah Birnie dives into becoming aware of what environment we need to thrive. We are so much like plants when we are not in the right environment, it is so hard for us to thrive when we are not being nourished when we're not being taken care of when we are cast aside and forgotten but when we are in an environment where we feel loved and where we feel cared for, and where we are being nourished, we always thrive.
We have to be our own gardeners, we have to know ourselves enough to understand what environments we thrive in the bats, we have to understand what nutrients we need for our body to thrive, we have to understand what routines work for us, we have to be our own gardeners and if we find ourselves going off of a path if we find ourselves, not where we want to be, maybe there's something wrong with you. Maybe there's something wrong with the environment. Maybe there's something wrong with the habits maybe there's something wrong with the way that you're nourishing yourself or maybe you're not even nourishing yourself at all.

Hello, beautiful soul. It's Djemilah Birnie of the becoming the big new podcast. Today I wanted to chat with you about something I was thinking about as I was doing my little plant restoration day where basically I was just walking around the property and I was finding plants that were not thriving they were dying or falling apart or starting to struggle. Um, and so what I was doing is I was just walking around the property here at Wimberly, moonlight farms and picking them up picking, picking up these plants that just needed a little bit of TLC, they just needed a little bit of extra attention and a little bit of love. And it got me to thinking about something as the garden always does, it's so funny how many lessons about life I find myself learning as I am engulfing myself in nature and engulfing myself in with the plants and with the garden. And what I realized is we are so much like plants when we are not in the right environment, it is so hard for us to thrive when we are not being nourished when we're not being taken care of when we are cast aside and forgotten. It's so hard to thrive. Um but when we are in an environment where we feel loved and where we feel cared for, and where we are being nourished, you know, we thrive and in the same with this plant these plants I am going around and restoring them. And that's that's so beautiful because it again, we are so much like plants, it doesn't matter where you're you are currently where your current situation is, there's an opportunity to change there's an opportunity to thrive again and to be reborn and that's kind of the process that is that I get to witness. As I restore these plants, I get to pick them up from this broken state where they are falling apart or like these cactuses that have fallen off of the main plant onto the ground and have started to decay in some parts and started to grow roots and other parts and and it's just so interesting because I get to take these plants that that have been cast aside and, and forgotten and I get to breathe life back into them and I get to be intentional with the environment that they're going to be in I get to be intentional with the plants mixture and the soil that they are going to be in and where they are going to be placed and, and how they're going to be watered and what kind of sunlight they are going to be get be getting. And we have to be our own gardeners, we have to know ourselves enough to understand what environments we thrive in the bats, we have to understand what nutrients we need for our body to thrive, we have to understand what routines work for us, we have to be our own gardeners. And if we find ourselves going off of a path if we find ourselves, not where we want to be, maybe, maybe it's not that there's something wrong with you. Maybe there's something wrong with the environment. Maybe there's something wrong with the habits maybe there's something wrong with the way that you're nourishing yourself or maybe, maybe you're not even nourishing yourself at all. Because that's something that we can all be easily do as well. I know, I have to be extremely intentional about how I'm feeding myself, I'm not just talking about food, or water. But I'm also talking about exercise, I'm talking about what I'm listening to what I'm watching what I'm engaging in, these are all the nourishments to a life that is going to determine how much we are going to thrive. And just as I must be intentional with these plants that I want to bring back to life, bring back into a state of glory. We have to be intentional with ourselves, we have to be intentional, with our own journeys with our own day to day with our own environment. Where are we putting ourselves what are we surrounding ourselves with? What are the friends that we are surrounding ourselves? What are the activities that we are surrounding ourselves with? What are these things because they do have an influence, they have an influence on us whether we realize them or not. So today, as I have my plant restoration day and play in the garden, and play with the planets. My question is, Are you being an intentional gardener? of yourself?

Are you

being intentional about your environment? Are you being intentional about your nourishment about yourself care? As always, I hope that you are having the most glorious day. And that this episode allows you to maybe think about a new perspective and maybe think about things just a little bit differently. And really think about it, are you are you being intentional with yourself with your environment? Because it can you need the right environment in order to thrive. And when we allow ourselves to not be intentional, we can sift into a comfort zone which isn't actually going to be the best for us. So what can you do today to just be a little bit more intentional about your environment? That's my question. I hope you guys have a fantastic rest of day. This is Jalen signing off.
