Speaker:

Hi and welcome to the Guardian Way.

2

:

Today's episode, episode 120, deals

with the private security solutions

3

:

that can be in place

to help reduce retail theft and robbery.

4

:

Our co-producer

5

:

for the series, of course, Garrett Thomas,

founder of Guardian Protection Force.

6

:

Good morning Garrett.

7

:

Good morning.

8

:

Yeah.

9

:

You know, we put in there

retail theft and robbery, unfortunately.

10

:

Robbery is becoming more and more common

in retail situations.

11

:

People are getting brazen.

12

:

And of course, as everybody knows, retail

theft is a real big issue.

13

:

Yes. Well, okay.

14

:

Well, Garrett,

why don't you take a few minutes here

15

:

and, and clue our audience in on

some of the different elements

16

:

that go into the types of security that,

that that, like, Guardian could provide.

17

:

Yeah.

18

:

One of the things to consider

is the visual deterrence.

19

:

What visual deterrents are you employing?

20

:

That will reduce these opportunistic

thefts or opportunistic robberies?

21

:

For example, do you have

22

:

does it appear to have an easy

get in and get out?

23

:

Does it appear to have, nobody watching?

24

:

Does it appear to have,

you know, uniformed guards?

25

:

Present?

26

:

So that's something to consider

is, you know,

27

:

just the optics in itself,

real time theft intervention.

28

:

Do you have any team that's able

to intervene when that happens?

29

:

Intervene on any in any sense?

30

:

Are they able to check for the receipts,

or are they able to apprehend what is it

31

:

that they're able to do?

32

:

Robbery prevention through presence

and protocol.

33

:

So, you know, for example,

that could be some of the customer service

34

:

based, you know, approaches, you know,

excuse me, sir, how can I help you?

35

:

Are you looking for something?

That kind of thing.

36

:

These protocols of,

you know, when this happens, you do this

37

:

improved loss prevention monitoring.

38

:

This is really important.

39

:

A lot of times, people

40

:

put, processes in place

and they don't monitor the effectiveness.

41

:

They don't monitor,

you know, how many thefts they had before,

42

:

how many thefts they had afterwards,

what was stolen?

43

:

What wasn't stolen.

44

:

So you need to, monitor

that to, to be able to create,

45

:

new protocols and, account for how,

46

:

valuable were your measures?

47

:

Incident documentation

and evidence collection?

48

:

Just like the one before.

49

:

This one is very under utilized.

50

:

You need to document all of these things

documented so that you can now.

51

:

Six oh, two people, meaning trespassing.

52

:

So they can't come back and steal more.

53

:

That's one that's very helpful,

especially in the state of California,

54

:

is trespass.

55

:

But if you don't do your documentation,

it's going to be very difficult to do it.

56

:

Fantastic. Great. Garrett.

57

:

Well, listen, as we wrap up this episode,

why don't you take our audience

58

:

through some of the different services

that Guardian provides

59

:

and then sign us off until we meet again

next week?

60

:

Yes, absolutely.

61

:

The no fee site assessment,

workplace violence prevention,

62

:

eye care solutions, garden patrol

services, armed and unarmed

63

:

security operations plans and assessments,

64

:

continuous termination services

and executive protection.

65

:

Well, until next

time, stay safe and we'll see you then.
