Speaker:Welcome back to Wealth Witches. Today, we have a guest speaker,

Speaker:and business strategist dedicated to empowering women in

Speaker:with visionary leaders. Christy's early experience in ops and
Speaker:mentorship shaped her into a compassionate yet driven leader.
Speaker:She's passionate about causes like LGBTQ rights, neurodivergent
Speaker:advocacy, and chronic illness awareness. Christy,
Speaker:I'm so excited to have you today. I'm so excited to be chatting about
Speaker:cycle thinking, especially with your business as something that I've been kind
Speaker:of hyper focused on the last, like, 3 to 6 months. So thank you for
Speaker:being here. Thank you for having me. It's
Speaker:actually a very fun topic to hyperfocus on, so that's great.
Speaker:Yeah. The unpacking of a little neurodivergent, like, doubling of things.
Speaker:So I I mean, first off, we didn't chat about this
Speaker:part of it beforehand, but, my question for you is how did you get started
Speaker:or, like, where did your interest start with cycle syncing and
Speaker:working with your cycle? Well, probably
Speaker:early before I even realized it was a thing,
Speaker:I was in this journey of not using birth control
Speaker:anymore because I felt like that was, you know, causing I already have
Speaker:chronic illness issues. I don't need more things on top of that. And
Speaker:birth control works for some people great, but for me,
Speaker:it was, I thought it was a an issue that I was giving more getting
Speaker:more migraines because when you already have migraines, the birth control does does not vibe
Speaker:with you at all. So first, I started tracking my cycle with
Speaker:that. I started using, reusable products, you
Speaker:know, all all of that. And when I started going into
Speaker:business, funny enough, the books that probably launched us, and I ended up reading more
Speaker:books and a whole bunch of other stuff, you know, hyper focusing myself,
Speaker:was due last by Kate Northrup, and I love her
Speaker:book. It is geared towards moms, and I'm personally not a
Speaker:mom. But there's a lot in there that I just loved so
Speaker:much about, syncing your cycle of, you know,
Speaker:kind of healing your cycle, but also how it works with productivity,
Speaker:your business, and there are a lot of good nuggets there as
Speaker:well as the moon phases as well if you happen not to be menstruating
Speaker:for any reason. I love that. And just to back up for a second because
Speaker:I realized I just dove right in, what is cycle syncing in your own words?
Speaker:Like, can you kind of give a rundown for anyone that's, like, maybe wondering or
Speaker:hasn't heard of that before? So depending on
Speaker:which atmosphere you're in with cycle syncing, there is cycle
Speaker:syncing for exercise. There's productivity, which I'll be talking about.
Speaker:There's seed cycling. There's a whole bunch of cycling going on.
Speaker:Where where I love to live is productivity and cycle
Speaker:cycle cycle syncing. And Five times fast. Yeah. Yeah. No.
Speaker:But it's just like I gonna correct myself. I'm like, if I say it again,
Speaker:it's gonna be worse somehow. But what I like to
Speaker:do is kinda follow the 80 20 rule because we cannot
Speaker:control everything in our lives and have it so where
Speaker:depending on the phase of the cycle on, my cycle I'm in,
Speaker:I match what things I'm doing either in my life or
Speaker:my business so I don't overexert myself, and I
Speaker:can take on those, like, boost of energies when they're happening.
Speaker:So I'm not trying to do the opposite thing at the opposite timing of energy
Speaker:wise. So syncing your business tasks
Speaker:or even your household tasks or whatnot to your cycle
Speaker:is where I'm going at. Okay. I love that. No. I think that's
Speaker:great. I had started noticing ebbs and flows in my
Speaker:energy probably 2 years ago, mostly in my creative
Speaker:energy. And it was really interesting to me because I was not menstruating at the
Speaker:time and trying to find when that was so that I
Speaker:could have some predictions so that I could be planning my week accordingly.
Speaker:Because there's nothing like and you probably know the phase, and I'm horrible with
Speaker:the phases. But there's nothing like being super, super low energy and being like, well,
Speaker:I was gonna do 15 TikToks this week, but, like, I cannot bring
Speaker:myself to do it, and there is no spark here. And then having the week
Speaker:where I've laid out all of my client calls and being like, damn. I have
Speaker:all the creative energy. Like, I wanna do everything and not having the time. And
Speaker:that was, like, so frustrating for me to feel like I was balancing those, but
Speaker:balancing balancing them improperly. Right.
Speaker:And so the phases do you wanna just start talking about I love that.
Speaker:Yeah. Looking right here. So, typically, people start,
Speaker:with the menstruation phase. And every time I'm gonna talk about a phase,
Speaker:I'll also give a moon phase in case you are not menstruating because that can
Speaker:also affect you. We are mostly water. The moon affects
Speaker:water, so it will affect us. Now if you wanna get more deeper into
Speaker:your astrology, there's gonna be transits and whatnot that affects that. But for the
Speaker:sake of this, podcast, I'm not gonna be able to go through all that.
Speaker:So for the menstrual phase is when your energy basically is
Speaker:flat. Either it's getting flat if you're in the
Speaker:beginning of it or it's about to go completely flat. It's a great
Speaker:time, and this is where the new moon is. So think about it more
Speaker:darkness, more like you're turning in your, you
Speaker:can go deeper into your intuition, but not so much, you know,
Speaker:getting, out there or even being super
Speaker:creative. You might be depending on, you know, other factors that you have, like I
Speaker:said, other transits you have going on. But, generally, this is a looking
Speaker:within time, deeper connection to yourself, a lot of rest, a lot
Speaker:of self care. And this is a good time for course
Speaker:correcting as well because you get to look more
Speaker:demonstrative instead of being in action mode.
Speaker:The other phase you probably mentioned is at the end of the cycle about to
Speaker:go into it, so I'll get there in a moment. But the next phase after
Speaker:that is the follicular phase, and that is your high
Speaker:energy. That is great for creativity. It's great for planning,
Speaker:you know, creating goals, putting seeds in new goals, all of the
Speaker:new beginning stuff. And that is the next phase of the moon
Speaker:where it's getting a little brighter towards the full moon. For
Speaker:that one, a lot of people struggle with the transition
Speaker:between the menstrual phase and the follicular phase, especially if you're a person that
Speaker:has chronic illness because you're try your your energy is just trying to catch up
Speaker:to you. So with that, if you're somebody with chronic illness, because this is what
Speaker:I'm always gonna infuse as well, is you can rest,
Speaker:be horizontal, and be creative. So if you're still kind
Speaker:of in that weirded between menstrual and follicular, do your
Speaker:creativity from your bed. I have a lounge chair in my office for that
Speaker:exact reason. Sometimes I my body has not caught up to my brain.
Speaker:My brain wants to be creative while my body is like, no. Which is totally
Speaker:great. But once you're able to get into that more
Speaker:high physical energy, that's when you can record a lot of your videos or you
Speaker:can plan your videos or anything like that. This is a great time
Speaker:to harness when you're in a launch as well. So when you're
Speaker:in a launch, like, this would be a great time to do, like, the big
Speaker:push type of situation and all of the initial
Speaker:creation of marketing efforts. And then you're gonna go into the
Speaker:full moon or ambulatory. And for some people, this lasts a day. Some people,
Speaker:this lasts 2 to 3 days. I tend to do the 2 to 3 day
Speaker:rule. Great time for collaborating, communicating, all
Speaker:the things that you wanna be out there. If you are
Speaker:menstruating and your hormones tend to be, you know, leveled off, this is
Speaker:actually a great time skin wise. So it's also a great time to record
Speaker:because your skin is probably the best at this time too. You're probably glowing,
Speaker:all of that good stuff. But with
Speaker:some people with chronic illness, sometimes that high energy kind of also would
Speaker:probably put you pretty flat too. So depending on where you are
Speaker:with your energy levels in total again, you could totally do a lot of this,
Speaker:like, horizontal if you need to. But you think you'll really underestimate
Speaker:how much we can do horizontally. Yes. And I feel
Speaker:like a lot of people just don't take advantage of that. Everybody wants to like,
Speaker:for example, I'm super comfortable all the time. I'm not gonna
Speaker:be uncomfortable when I'm working because once I'm uncomfortable, I start losing
Speaker:if you're if you listening, you know, the spoon theory, I will
Speaker:prioritize my spoons. So if I don't have to get ready for the day, I'm
Speaker:not going to. I will work in my pajamas if I need to, and I
Speaker:will work on my couch, my bed, or my lounge chair if I need to.
Speaker:I will get more things done if I prioritize my energy that
Speaker:way. When a lot of this, productivity
Speaker:for the menstrual cycle affects more of my brainpower because my body and
Speaker:my brain aren't always connected and they're kind of fighting all the time.
Speaker:So if you can, go ahead and
Speaker:lay down and do some work, miss Twine. I'll give you that
Speaker:permission if you need it.
Speaker:Oh, and then the last phase is the luteal phase. So this is a time
Speaker:that gets tricky for some people because they're trying they're going into their best
Speaker:phase. So they're starting to lower their energy. So this is
Speaker:when you can start turning more inward. You can focus on
Speaker:details. And because you're finishing your cycles, it's a good way to
Speaker:remember. If you're finishing your cycle, that means you're finishing
Speaker:projects. So this is a good time to put bows on projects and finish that
Speaker:out before your menstrual comes, and then you have to do the whole, like,
Speaker:I need to rest all over again. So it's kinda like a big circle,
Speaker:if you think about it that way. And like I said, if you don't
Speaker:menstruate for whatever reason, either birth control or it's not that
Speaker:phase of your life or you just don't menstruate at all,
Speaker:follow the moon. That would be my best recommendation there for
Speaker:that, and then you could cycle sync with the moon. Love that. Okay. I think
Speaker:that's fantastic. That was a really great run through. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker:I do have a question, and I'm gonna totally put you on the spot here.
Speaker:So what if you are a menstruating human and you're
Speaker:not menstruating with Oh, my
Speaker:God. It was the full the full moon. Right? You said? New
Speaker:moon. What if you're menstruating with the full moon? What does that
Speaker:do for your, like, cycle thinking? Like, if you do have that to menstruate, you're
Speaker:just doing the same thing? Mhmm. So you follow
Speaker:your energy levels first off. So if you're, menstruating
Speaker:with the full moon, which I have at some point in my life,
Speaker:that's totally fine because a lot of people,
Speaker:they will put themselves in boxes. I'm not a fan of putting yourself in a
Speaker:box. This is more of a guidance. So if you're menstruating with a full
Speaker:moon, you're just doing everything according to your cycle versus the
Speaker:moon. The moon is there if you need it. It may
Speaker:or not affect your actual energy levels, so you may be a person who
Speaker:has more energy during your menstrual cycle if the moon is
Speaker:affecting you. And that's the only real difference to it is that you may
Speaker:just have more energy during times that you wouldn't. I noticed
Speaker:that when I was, sinking that direction with the moon,
Speaker:I had shorter cycles personally, which I thought was interesting.
Speaker:And I also only needed, like, one day of rest versus, like,
Speaker:the majority of the time of rest. Oh, that's really interesting. Yes.
Speaker:Right. Okay. Mhmm. Exactly. So
Speaker:that's not it's not really, like I've talked to people
Speaker:before where it's like, well, that seems backwards. It's not. Everybody works differently.
Speaker:If we all, technically, if we all sink to the moon, then we're all
Speaker:gonna be out of commission at the same time. Right. Doesn't work.
Speaker:Absolutely. Okay. So we have the 4 phases. And, again,
Speaker:if you're not menstruating, you can sync to the moon cycle.
Speaker:And if you are menstruating, kind of go by that. Keep track of your energy
Speaker:levels. What would you say is a good way to be
Speaker:kind of tracking or being aware of that? Like, do you, you know, have,
Speaker:like, a journal or something that you're noting, or do you put notes on your
Speaker:calendar? Like, how are you kind of keeping track of where your energy level's like?
Speaker:A lot of this is just self observation. Yes.
Speaker:So I've done, a lot of different methods over the years, and I've worked with
Speaker:my clients with whatever method they tend to pull towards because
Speaker:whatever you're tending to pull towards is gonna be easier for you. I've noticed
Speaker:especially with us neurodivergent work, folk, it's not gonna work if
Speaker:you don't wanna work it. So, personally, right now, and I
Speaker:can tell you what I used to do. Currently, right now, I use Clue.
Speaker:I know there's this big whole, like, app situation that happened a few months ago.
Speaker:I'm comfortable with Clue. I like Clue. It has a lot of features even for
Speaker:the free version. And then I also mix it with my calendar in the sense
Speaker:that, whenever Clue says my
Speaker:period's about to come, I actually block those days off in my calendar
Speaker:so I don't book calls. So that's how it shows up in my calendar. And
Speaker:then I will also mark when my ovulation should be ish. I
Speaker:don't test for that anymore. I used to, and just I figured out
Speaker:that mine's pretty regular anyway. So whenever that's gonna be, I
Speaker:put, as much as I can, that that's the day I would prefer to record
Speaker:all my, like, reels for the next month or my videos or whatnot because I
Speaker:have more energy and I can do it. Or if
Speaker:I already have the videos, maybe I recorded, like, a whole ton for a quarter,
Speaker:which happens whenever I have, like, a ton of energy All of the
Speaker:energy. All of the energy. That would be a great period of time in my
Speaker:month so I can do some outreach and try to sell some,
Speaker:you know, some of my offers or my services or whatnot because I'll have much
Speaker:more energy and more, like, charisma to do that.
Speaker:So that that would be a great way to also track your energy
Speaker:is if you're doing something and it feels horrible each time, that's that's
Speaker:not the best time for you to do it. Now can we control our lives
Speaker:completely like that? No. That's why I would fall back for the 80 20 rule.
Speaker:But when I first work with clients, what I have them do is actually
Speaker:we'll do a month of every single day. They would kinda
Speaker:put their overarching energy for today, and if they're tracking their
Speaker:cycle, where they are in their cycle to see how it actually shows up. And
Speaker:then I would suggest to do that for at least 6 months to get a
Speaker:full snapshot. And if you have any, big life change or
Speaker:event or whatnot or you get very sick or anything like that,
Speaker:start tracking it again because sometimes that will affect it and will shift things around
Speaker:a little bit. I think that's awesome. Okay. That I think is a really
Speaker:actionable tip to take away. And I'm seeing so so many similarities
Speaker:between, like, the functional astrology that I've been working with. I mean, so much of
Speaker:this is just tracking and observations. And, like, how are you
Speaker:as a unique human impacted by the
Speaker:lunar phases, by the transits, by your own, like,
Speaker:ebbs and flows and energy throughout the month. And, like, how do we put that
Speaker:all together into one nice little, you know, tied up bow, which we'd all
Speaker:love for it to be nice and tidy. But Mhmm. I think I think you
Speaker:bring up a really great point by saying, like, the 80 20. Right? And we
Speaker:I use 80 20 in so many things in my life. But we're not striving
Speaker:for perfection, for exactness, especially when you mix chronic illness,
Speaker:neurodivergent, like, anything else into it. Like,
Speaker:there are times where I might be high energy, but I am
Speaker:absolutely laying on the couch, audioing things into, like,
Speaker:chat, GPT, or, like, putting them into notes or Voxering or
Speaker:sending all of the Slacks because I just being vertical
Speaker:is not going to happen that day. Right? It's gonna happen as little as
Speaker:possible. So taking the cycle side of everything and
Speaker:the energy levels and those fluctuations that come through those different portions of your
Speaker:cycle, how do we take this and then
Speaker:start using it to plan for efficiency in our businesses or in
Speaker:our corporate careers or in our lives so that we're able to
Speaker:work with our cycles instead of against them. And
Speaker:to add a very long run onto that, I did want to
Speaker:address that I think of for a lot of us, this is something that's not
Speaker:talked about. It's being talked about more often. But for many of us,
Speaker:the 24 hour, like, you can I'm sure we probably speak to this a little
Speaker:bit, but, like, we're set up for a 24 hour day and, like, menstruating
Speaker:humans or like, we don't that's not our day.
Speaker:My my energy levels look very different from my spouse's energy
Speaker:levels, and it's just fascinating to
Speaker:have been trying to shove, like, a square peg into a round hole for all
Speaker:of these years of, like, yeah, you're gonna be 5 AM club, which, like, there'll
Speaker:be 5 AM club. Get up in the morning. Yeah. You're like, yeah. I'm going
Speaker:to bed at 5. I'm not, like, 5 AM club. Get up. Do your
Speaker:workout. Do all the things. And, like, I am not super high energy generally
Speaker:in the morning. Like, I'll be alert, but, like, there's the cadence of
Speaker:my days change throughout the month versus having the
Speaker:cadence of my day be consistent but change throughout the day.
Speaker:Yes. A 100%. The 24 hour
Speaker:cycle is exactly what you said. It's more built for non mainstream
Speaker:humans, so more it it's patriarchy,
Speaker:basically. And we do much better,
Speaker:I would say, monthly broken down by week. Now
Speaker:each phase isn't exactly a week long, but that would be much
Speaker:easier way to plan your month is by week. So,
Speaker:that's how I would suggest it for most business owners is looking your
Speaker:month over versus your days over. And what I
Speaker:would also suggest is having buckets of things you're doing
Speaker:versus every single minute of the day planned. I know it's a shocker
Speaker:hearing from a productivity coach, but I do not like that.
Speaker:It doesn't work for a lot of people I work with at all. Like, they
Speaker:can plan for the best and then nothing happens. So instead of wasting
Speaker:all your planning and creative efforts with planning, with
Speaker:that, do it in a way that would make more sense to you.
Speaker:So when you're talking about more like business tasks and things like that
Speaker:I'm gonna go through the cycle again because this is just how my brain works.
Speaker:The menstrual phase would be a great time for you to review how
Speaker:you did the months before, for you to rest, for you
Speaker:to do more self care activities even in business. So if for
Speaker:you, a self care activity is actually doing your bookkeeping, then do that.
Speaker:Yes. For me, a self care task for
Speaker:my it would be inbox 0. So making sure that it's fully
Speaker:inbox 0, like, around the time my menstrual is about to hit so I don't
Speaker:have to worry about it. So self care tasks do
Speaker:exist in your business and in the corporate world. Just making sure that
Speaker:you're set up to be able to rest is a self care task.
Speaker:That's also, as I mentioned before, time for course correcting. So when you're reviewing your
Speaker:previous month, what do you need to change for this upcoming month? What
Speaker:do you need to focus on or readdress,
Speaker:have conversations, plan out when you're having any difficult
Speaker:conversations, when you have the energy to to do that or
Speaker:any amazing conversations when you have the energy to do that. So it's a great
Speaker:time just to think basically and not do.
Speaker:And then, when you get into the follicular phase, again, this would be a
Speaker:great time for, like, launches. Follicular and
Speaker:ovulation are great times for, like, launches. So if you're planning a launch,
Speaker:look to see what your calendar looks like, especially if you're doing a live launch
Speaker:and you're, like, the main person of that launch. Make sure that that lines up
Speaker:to you as much as you possibly can. So that would be a great time
Speaker:for those activities, more in-depth planning if
Speaker:you need a little bit more. You had some scribbles from your menstrual phase and
Speaker:then you wanna go deeper later on when you have more energy and then,
Speaker:even creating new relationships because it's a great time for, like, new beginnings. And then
Speaker:your obiocerase phase, that is when you're gonna focus
Speaker:on all the communication, all the collaboration, all the creation of the
Speaker:videos, all of that. And if you're more in,
Speaker:the corporate world where you're a an employee and not somebody
Speaker:who's running the business, this is a great time for you to
Speaker:schedule some important meetings, or even if you're a
Speaker:salesperson in your in that business that you're in, it's a great time for you
Speaker:to use your energy to attract new clients or anything like that. Probably a great
Speaker:time for you in general if you're a salesperson because that will give you a
Speaker:lot of energy to get it done. And then the luteal phase,
Speaker:again, you're gonna start turning inward. You're gonna finish up projects. This is
Speaker:a great time to finish up projects. Finish putting in the work before your menstrual
Speaker:hits you in your flat. I'd love that. Okay. Again, with the
Speaker:circle. I know. All it all is the circle. There's so much the
Speaker:the more aware I think or the more that I pay attention to it, the
Speaker:more I keep seeing seasonality around me or cycles. Right? Our everything
Speaker:is based on cycles, Whether it's day cycles, month
Speaker:cycles, seasonal cycle, annuals. Like, there's all of these
Speaker:cycles that I'm just seeing. And it's like, there are times where
Speaker:it's like paying attention to all of them. You're like, who's
Speaker:okay. This is impacting it this way. Great. We're gonna
Speaker:notice this. We're going to acknowledge
Speaker:it because I think that there are times, especially when I was working corporate or
Speaker:before I was, like, as aware of my own cycles, like, energetically
Speaker:where it was really easy to be hard on myself. It's like, oh, my God.
Speaker:I don't have energy and, like, the negative self talk. Like, you're just lazy. Like,
Speaker:why don't you have this? You know, dah dah dah dah dah. Versus, like, am
Speaker:I patting myself on the back on the week that I have all of the
Speaker:energy to do all of the things? No.
Speaker:But then why am I be nagging myself on the weeks where my energy is
Speaker:lower? So, like, being able to recognize that and just like, oh,
Speaker:yep. Okay. This makes sense. Like, that tracks where I am. I know 10 days
Speaker:from now, roughly, that I will have more energy. Like, this is what it'll look
Speaker:like. Cool. Is so nice.
Speaker:And I do the same thing in business. Right? Like, we have cycles that go
Speaker:through in business and, like, revenue and changes and, like,
Speaker:new clients and bookings and to, like, being able to mark on the calendar and
Speaker:look at it and go, yep. The same thing happened last year. The same thing
Speaker:happened the year before. Like, this too is part of the season. It's part of
Speaker:the cycle. How do we work with it instead of against it? But if you
Speaker:don't know or you don't recognize, then, like, only have so much information that you
Speaker:use to plan. Yes. So being a detective
Speaker:of yourself in your business or your job is the
Speaker:most important thing you can do, is always observe,
Speaker:maybe write down notes for the next time or when you're about to, you
Speaker:know, go through all your inner work for your menstrual phase.
Speaker:But it's good that you brought up seasons because seasons affect me not
Speaker:just as a person, but as someone with chronic
Speaker:illness. I don't do well in the heat, so summer is not my best time
Speaker:to get most of my stuff done anyway. Winter, oddly enough for me,
Speaker:I'm a winter gal. Once it's cool, I am happy, and I can get a
Speaker:lot of things done. So with that, the
Speaker:seasonality also affects your energy levels, especially
Speaker:uniquely to you as a person. Trying to figure out when you have the
Speaker:most energy overall in that season will help you because then you can also
Speaker:plan your year much better. Like, for example,
Speaker:if you want if you're a personal chronic illness and you want to
Speaker:have a big thing coming up, you can do a lot of the legwork
Speaker:in the season, for example, for me in winter, then when you have the most
Speaker:energy because you know there's not gonna be a whole bunch of things affecting other
Speaker:parts of you. And then you can plan your maybe
Speaker:again, I'm gonna use me because I just did this this year. Instead of
Speaker:dying in this in the summer here, I went to an Alaskan cruise,
Speaker:which was amazing. So I disappeared for, like, 10 days in a much
Speaker:cooler environment. So you can plan all that so much better
Speaker:if you are a detective of yourself and start learning as much as you can
Speaker:about you as a unique person and not putting yourself in boxes,
Speaker:but seeing where you fit, when you fit there because you
Speaker:will change as you go through week, through month, through year, even
Speaker:in through, again, back to big transits. Every 5
Speaker:years, things happen, things like that. No. I I think too,
Speaker:I'm my prime season is
Speaker:fall. And I have a little glimpse since I too don't do well in, like,
Speaker:the very, very, very heat of summer. Like, August, we are not
Speaker:great friends. But early summer, late
Speaker:spring and fall, all of the energy.
Speaker:But, 2, that has changed depending on, like, where I
Speaker:live. Yep. Not all I like winter's a
Speaker:medium energy. Spring's kind of low energy. When I
Speaker:live somewhere else, that wasn't always the case. Like, the weather, the environment,
Speaker:like, the seasonality, all of it impacts. My love I've never heard someone
Speaker:say it that way, but being a detective of you
Speaker:Yep. Yeah. Why would you not?
Speaker:Like, we're all unique. We all have different cycles. We all have different, like,
Speaker:factors that impact us. I I love that. That's gonna be
Speaker:my go to quote. Well, funny enough, I wanted to
Speaker:be a detective, so but life brings me
Speaker:here. And
Speaker:and, yeah, with any big life changes, you're you're going to have
Speaker:to be a detective of yourself all over again. Either you
Speaker:have a new chronic illness, diagnosis,
Speaker:just bought a house. That's me. Like, you have to figure out where all your
Speaker:energy starts to shift and then resettle back down. Because it's kinda
Speaker:like when you're kinda like when you're cleaning too. You're getting all the dust all
Speaker:over the place and you have to see where everything's about to settle to see
Speaker:where you're gonna need to put everything. It's kinda like, oh my gosh. I'm gonna
Speaker:give you so many metaphors right now about unpacking what I'm trying to do.
Speaker:But it's it's it's really that. It's like learning your new
Speaker:space and how your body is reacting to that new
Speaker:space regardless if that is a physical space or an emotional
Speaker:space too. Well, that so much of this brings you back to, like,
Speaker:meditation practice. Right? Because, like, where can you be observing and not judging and, like,
Speaker:just letting the the thoughts, the emotions, like, anything that comes up, like,
Speaker:just exist. And being an observer prior
Speaker:to just, like, snap judgment or taking action based on what where
Speaker:where can you be mindful and observant without
Speaker:just having to do all of the things right away? Like,
Speaker:it's so easy. I think especially in the, like, hustle hustle hustle. Go
Speaker:go go Do everything, all of the things every day
Speaker:to conscientiously, like, take a step back from that and intentionally,
Speaker:like, slow it down, observe,
Speaker:and course correct instead of having that, like, frantic energy,
Speaker:having the, like, calming, grounded, centered,
Speaker:like, peaceful energy
Speaker:that just feels safer,
Speaker:feel better, feel more sustainable.
Speaker:Exact no. Sustainability is one of the things I always focus
Speaker:on. Is your business sustainable? Is your
Speaker:household sustainable? If it's not sustainable, and I'm not talking about, like, eco
Speaker:products even though that's great and all, energetically
Speaker:sustainable. If you the the main goal I would
Speaker:love people to walk away with when I'm working with them
Speaker:specifically and, actually, any any service I do is sustainability
Speaker:in your business, your energy, whatnot. Because if it's not sustainable,
Speaker:you're gonna burn out. And I've been there. That's how I ended up with one
Speaker:of my main chronic illnesses. It's not fun. I highly do not suggest
Speaker:it. And and it it it has to do
Speaker:back with, I don't know if you've ever read the book, Laziness Does Not Exist.
Speaker:I don't know if we've found it. But I own it. It's sitting on the
Speaker:bookshelf in the other room. It's a great book. Even if you only get through
Speaker:chapter 1, it will piss you off, but in the best way.
Speaker:And and getting away from the you have to
Speaker:work in order to feel worth something. No.
Speaker:There are different types of productivity. One that I
Speaker:focus on the most is kind of like
Speaker:inactive productivity, if you wanna say it that way. I don't like saying it that
Speaker:way, but it's the best way to get it through people where rest is
Speaker:productivity. If you don't rest, you cannot do x, y, and z. If
Speaker:you don't rest, you cannot plan. You cannot be a good leader. You
Speaker:cannot run a business. You can't you can't really do anything. You will burn out,
Speaker:and then everything else will change. And if everything changes, guess what? You're
Speaker:back at square 0, and it's not fun. Right.
Speaker:So maybe clarifying that resting isn't just sleeping. No.
Speaker:It's not. I And that's a really common misconception. It is.
Speaker:So you know what? Let me give you some of my more, like, resting, but
Speaker:I'm not actually just, like, laying around, which I do love.
Speaker:But for me, sometimes, resting is organizing things. You know?
Speaker:But that's because I'm a Virgo, and I'm just, like, crazy that way. But I
Speaker:love, doing little projects that don't
Speaker:necessarily mean something's gonna come out from it. Like, I'm not
Speaker:stressed to do it. Maybe it needs to get done. Most likely, it doesn't at
Speaker:that very moment, but it helps me kind of rest and get into myself.
Speaker:Because in a way too, a lot of those little activities that you do that
Speaker:are rest or self care or even things like that are a
Speaker:sense of, like, what is what do they call it? Like, active
Speaker:meditation where you're not just sitting there in your thoughts, which for some people,
Speaker:it's really good. For some people, it doesn't work at all. They just kind of
Speaker:go into chaos. But you can, like, wash
Speaker:dish dishes and just let thoughts come to you. It's great.
Speaker:You can showers are great. Baths are great. You can lay
Speaker:around. That's totally fine. I like playing video games because, like, I'm
Speaker:doing something, but I'm not. Like, I feel like I'm doing
Speaker:something, but I'm not, because, obviously, it's not giving me any money, which would be
Speaker:great if it would. But Oh, man. Yeah. Which I hope people make
Speaker:money from that. I just don't wanna do that. Gardening is one for me.
Speaker:Yeah. Being able to be out there and do something productive, but, like, restorative
Speaker:and, like, active meditation. Yeah. Oh, and then, like, for
Speaker:example, my boyfriend, he has been playing his
Speaker:piano and violins. That's his son's rest.
Speaker:After, you know, packing the entire day, he goes, sits down, and
Speaker:plays his piano. And that's his sense of rest because it is something that
Speaker:is just for him, not for anyone else, and he just gets to be with
Speaker:himself. And, also, if you're an extrovert, you can do things
Speaker:like, honestly, going to a party, which doesn't sound great to me because
Speaker:I'm kinda no. Going to a party for extroverts, that's their rest
Speaker:because they're refilling. So Yeah. That's the opposite
Speaker:for me. Yeah. No. I I'm just just like that. Unless I'm, like, in
Speaker:my ovulatory phase where I'm just like, yeah. I don't wanna do
Speaker:that. But so 2 2 ways you can think of
Speaker:rest. Is it filling your cup, or is it you're helping your cup not
Speaker:overflow? That is your rest. So either
Speaker:giving you energy or removing that anxious energy, that is your
Speaker:rest. That is, like, the basic way you can think about it. I love that.
Speaker:I love that. Those are great examples of rest that's not just
Speaker:sleeping. Because, yeah, I think for so many of us, we're like, oh, yeah. I
Speaker:rested. I slept outside. But, like, did you sleep and then just, like, work
Speaker:16 hours and not do at, like We need a little bit more to
Speaker:take care of ourselves. Window shopping is my favorite way of
Speaker:resting. I'm not a anybody. I'm not
Speaker:spending money, but I'm not doing anything that causes
Speaker:me stress either. I'm just kinda like, oh, that would be fun. That would be
Speaker:fun. There's so many different ways to go
Speaker:about rest and self care. I love having a self care menu,
Speaker:especially when I'm overanxious or even either depressed or
Speaker:just really stressed. I can look at my self care menu and be like, I
Speaker:need a 5 minute thing, that, or I need an hour thing, that,
Speaker:or I need something to get my energy up. I'm gonna go dance it out,
Speaker:Something. So if you don't know, when you're in a good
Speaker:position, make your self care menu, and then you could pick from it. And that
Speaker:Oh. During different types of your phase cycle. You can
Speaker:actually plan your self care menu with yourself with your,
Speaker:cycle so you can pick things as you need them. I like the self care
Speaker:menu. Yeah. They're it's amazing. I love it. It's a great
Speaker:idea. Okay. Take note of decision fatigue because you've already decided that you
Speaker:like it. Mhmm. Oh my god. No. That's great. Yeah. Because that's
Speaker:that's such a real thing. Especially, normally, when I'm needing self care the most. It's
Speaker:been like, okay. Now I do have to go through, like, figuring out what I
Speaker:wanna do, planning the thing. Like, do I have to drive to the do I
Speaker:have to do that? And all of that that goes into it is just
Speaker:it can make you end up on the couch watching Harry Potter marathons, which,
Speaker:like, well, that's not the end of the world and can absolutely be a form
Speaker:of rest, may not always be the most restorative go
Speaker:to. Yeah. Granted, the other
Speaker:day, I did watch Grey's Anatomy the entire day, and then I restarted it over
Speaker:again because of what I That's just Yep. Yep. Yep. That's
Speaker:yeah. Just the background loop. Yeah. That David's David's self care show is
Speaker:South Park, which is always it's good. It has the nice thing is it has
Speaker:so many seasons just like Gray and Dove. And so you can just Mhmm. And
Speaker:loop and wherever you are. Yep. And it's just and I'll do the same thing.
Speaker:And so one of the 2 will normally be playing. But, yeah, I I love
Speaker:that. Long shows because it feels like you're watching a different show when
Speaker:you started over again because Grey's is 19th season. Like, you're literally
Speaker:watching, like, 5 different shows. Mhmm. No. It gives
Speaker:yeah. It gives so much more content to be able to, like,
Speaker:embrace. So that's yes.
Speaker:I love that. Okay. So, Christy, anything else, if like
Speaker:someone were to have one main takeaway and I have a feeling I know what
Speaker:you're gonna say, but I want you to say it anyways. If anyone would have
Speaker:one main takeaway when it comes to cycles and productivity and,
Speaker:like, thinking your cycles with your business, what would you want them to take away
Speaker:from this? Well, now I'm not sure what you think I was gonna
Speaker:say, but I'll tell you after you say yours. I was
Speaker:gonna say, be a be a detective
Speaker:with grace. So like you said, don't judge
Speaker:yourself. Just observe yourself, see where things are going, and then
Speaker:implement them as you need. I figured you were gonna say be a detective of
Speaker:yourself. So okay. Right on. Right on. Go. I was like, you know, that that's
Speaker:the biggest takeaway that I have from that that it just keeps, like, and it's
Speaker:hilarious because my astrologist will, like without saying it, it says the same thing. Right?
Speaker:Like, so much of this is just observation and, like, noticing patterns and which,
Speaker:like, speaks to the neurodivergent side of me by far. Like, I'm a patterned person.
Speaker:Like absolutely. Like, let's pattern recognition the shit
Speaker:out of this and figure it out. And so it's just funny that I keep
Speaker:seeing this recurring theme coming up in my life. So, yeah, that's the one that
Speaker:had really stuck with me. So I'm glad we picked the same model, though I'm
Speaker:sure anything else you put out would have been valuable. If anyone's wanting
Speaker:to connect with you more or, like, follow-up or go over, like, how to
Speaker:cycle sync with their own business or anything else that you offer, where's the
Speaker:best place for them to find you? Like, what what are you doing right now
Speaker:that they can be involved in or subscribe to?
Speaker:So the best place where I hang out where people can, get in touch with
Speaker:me would be my Instagram. And I'm sure it'd be linked somewhere here
Speaker:because my name is annoying to write, but it's be this and then underscore.
Speaker:So that would be the best place. Now coming
Speaker:up, which it's in development now, so it just
Speaker:depends on when you're listening to this. The so the great place to
Speaker:go find this would be my Instagram, is I'm coming out with
Speaker:a tool where you can put in your information for your mental cycle,
Speaker:and then it'll give you what you what you I don't like to say it
Speaker:should, but what you could be doing throughout different parts of your cycle,
Speaker:and we'll help guide you through a month or even 3 months depending on
Speaker:which tool you're using. Oh, I love that. How cool. Okay. What a great
Speaker:resource. And I think if you if you pop a note our way when you
Speaker:have those, we'll add that to the notes too so we can find it there.
Speaker:But, also, yes, your Instagram will be in the notes. Oh my gosh.
Speaker:What a valuable chat. Thank you so much. This was really great to,
Speaker:like, flesh out and, like, increase my understanding of it as well as I'm, like,
Speaker:delving further into it this year. No. Thank you. I always love
Speaker:geeking out on this because we I think we've talked about this
Speaker:before. There's not too many people talking about this
Speaker:because everybody's like, oh, menstrual, taboo, ew.
Speaker:It's not. It's literally a part of our lives that we
Speaker:experienced for decades, so we should be talking about it.
Speaker:Decades. Like, that's that's the wild thing. And then
Speaker:there's always, like, the cycles both before and after that as well that, like, can
Speaker:impact energy levels and everything else that goes in. No. I it was really
Speaker:funny because the I recorded a podcast earlier this morning with someone and we were
Speaker:talking about the taboo that goes along with, like, money and sex and,
Speaker:like, women's health and, like, there's so many taboos or things that just are,
Speaker:like, not talked about, like, they should be. And so that's such a big part
Speaker:of what I'm wanting to do here is just have those discussion, because I'm having
Speaker:them in my own personal circles. Why should we not be having them in
Speaker:a more public arena? Like, I'm not embarrassed about it, and I
Speaker:don't care if anyone else thinks it's gross. Like, that's their thing. It's a part
Speaker:of my, like, regular life, so let's talk about it
Speaker:instead of just, like, shoving it, you know, into some little shame box. Yeah.
Speaker:And the more we talk about it, the less shame there'll be around it.
Speaker:Absolutely. Thank you so much. Everyone, check the notes.
Speaker:We are gonna have all of Christy's links in there so that you can go
Speaker:follow along because you put up a lot of really
Speaker:valuable content when it comes to productivity, energy management, like chronic
Speaker:illness. I know that I found just a lot of your free Instagram content to
Speaker:be incredibly helpful throughout the month. Thank you.
Speaker:So amazing. Well, awesome.
