Immediately following the death of Jesus, extraordinary events revealed the magnitude of what had taken place at Calvary. Dr. Dave explains that the torn temple curtain represented the end of the old covenant, while the shaking earth and splitting rocks became powerful testimonies from God Himself. These were not insignificant details surrounding the crucifixion but unmistakable signs declaring that something monumental had occurred. Creation itself responded as the Son of God completed His redeeming sacrifice and forever changed humanity's relationship with God.

Among the most remarkable details in Matthew's account is the opening of the tombs at the moment of Christ's death. Dr. Dave emphasizes the importance of following Scripture's sequence carefully: although the tombs opened immediately, the godly men and women did not rise until after Jesus was resurrected. That order preserves Christ's preeminence, placing Him first in everything. The opened graves demonstrated God's preparation, while their later resurrection proclaimed the victorious power of Jesus over death and provided an extraordinary witness to those living in Jerusalem.

Across Jerusalem and around the cross, testimony to the identity of Jesus became increasingly impossible to ignore. Resurrected believers appeared to many people, faithful women witnessed the events, and even the Roman officer and soldiers responded to everything they had seen by recognizing that Jesus truly was the Son of God. Dr. Dave highlights the overwhelming power of these combined witnesses: creation, resurrected saints, followers of Christ, and Roman soldiers all pointed toward the same truth. God was making His message unmistakably clear—Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
