Shownotes

1) I do not have a goal: Wow…just because Job is bumming and not humming does not mean what he says is wrong. In truth, this passage in Job 6:11 should become an anthem for those of us living on this terrestrial plane. We need a goal, a target, and a vision. Without a vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18). 2) Kind to a fainting friend: Regardless that these friends were unaware that this whole situation had nothing to do with Job doing something wrong, you don’t kick a person when they are down. There should be kindness (fruit of the Spirit) for those troubled, wounded, and in pain. That does not mean supporting wrongdoing. It means supporting the person. 3) Next, Job expresses his personal disappointment in the quality of his friends. They are like a thirsty group, finding no water. This is similar to hopes being dashed. The Bible says Hope deferred makes the heart sick. That is true for our situations with people and our faithless attitudes toward God too. But the rest of the verse? When hope comes, it’s as the tree of life. Yeah!
