Shownotes

I’m excited to bring this to you today because it’s the same thing I’ve been writing about in my upcoming book, Paths To Freedom. In this episode I wanted to outline not my journey, but something specific about the journey of a generational pattern breaker; the journey of the woman who wants to have it all, the journey of the woman who is a high achiever, who's out to make the money, have the things, create the life, do things differently, find happiness, create stability, and have an impact in the world. Even if that's only with one person herself or with many people, her family, her community, her career, the people she's nurtured, so on and so forth, we are deciding to walk our path of freedom.

I know you are that because I am that and I attract others who are on that path in our own respective ways. There are some key things that happen when you’re walking and creating your path of freedom.

I’ll cover:

  • The difference between manifesting the things you want and evolving to become whole within yourself
  • Where midlife crises come from
  • The only thing you need to move forward towards creating the life you want
  • Finally, I’ll outline the 6 stages that high achieving women and those who identify as women follow on our way to freedom.

When the whole woman changes, then their whole life changes.

Check out the free 5-day private podcast "So You Want Clarity and Alignment" if you’re ready to get clear on how you’re going to step into your role.

Ash Johns:

Hey, , we are back.

Ash Johns:

And let me tell you before we even kick off that this is my first

Ash Johns:

time that I believe recording any of the podcast episodes at night.

Ash Johns:

And if you don't know this about me, I'm usually.

Ash Johns:

an early bird to bed because I'm an early riser, and early mornings

Ash Johns:

are my favorite times of day.

Ash Johns:

And so when the podcast first started, I used to record all the episodes at like

Ash Johns:

4:35 AM 5 30, 6 o'clock in the morning.

Ash Johns:

And then lately I've been recording this particular,

Ash Johns:

season midday, you know, kind of.

Ash Johns:

Which is totally off.

Ash Johns:

Not even my jam, like midday.

Ash Johns:

I like take siestas but there's something about tonight and

Ash Johns:

today that feels so good.

Ash Johns:

Plus, shout out to my podcast team.

Ash Johns:

Thank you, Sarah.

Ash Johns:

Thank you, Angie.

Ash Johns:

, because I always get these to the best of my ability.

Ash Johns:

Get the episodes out to you guys on time, so I appreciate you.

Ash Johns:

so y'all, if you are listening to this episode at night, I bring that

Ash Johns:

up to say, let's pretend that we're actually in the room together.

Ash Johns:

Let's pretend that you also have a yummy candle.

Ash Johns:

Lit to your right on your dresser or in your living room, or in

Ash Johns:

your kitchen, or in your den area.

Ash Johns:

Let's pretend that your furry animal is nearby, just like Ziggy is near me.

Ash Johns:

Maybe you even hear the crickets going and the night critters

Ash Johns:

outside your window as I do.

Ash Johns:

And yeah, let's just sink into.

Ash Johns:

, the teaching, the evening edification, the mm around the campfire kind

Ash Johns:

of vibe is what I'm going for.

Ash Johns:

totally unplanned, but totally on time.

Ash Johns:

And if you're listening to this episode during the day and you're

Ash Johns:

commute while you're working, you're energized, that's okay too.

Ash Johns:

I just hope that.

Ash Johns:

cool, common, collected, evening, sexy vibes.

Ash Johns:

doesn't like change up your vibe in a bad way, but if it changes

Ash Johns:

up your vibe in a good way, then a blessings be to all of us.

Ash Johns:

All right?

Ash Johns:

So I feel tuned in, but.

Ash Johns:

I do like when we take a couple breaths together just to set the space.

Ash Johns:

So I'm gonna do that.

Ash Johns:

And I recently started using the box breath by Hoff, I think is his name.

Ash Johns:

cause everyone's doing his like breath work and like ice plunge baths things.

Ash Johns:

but yeah, I'm gonna do Four second inhales, four second holds, four

Ash Johns:

second exhales, and then four second holds before starting over again.

Ash Johns:

And you can join me in that if you'd like.

Ash Johns:

I just love that exercise I do.

Ash Johns:

Now, just join me and one more thing, and that's to scan your

Ash Johns:

body and see if there's any place you're holding tension and just

Ash Johns:

give yourself permission to let go.

Ash Johns:

Ask that muscle, ask your shoulders, ask your lower back, your eyebrows to relax.

Ash Johns:

You are well, you're here, you're present.

Ash Johns:

No matter what's happening in your life, you are here.

Ash Johns:

You're still living, you're still on your path, and I just wanna

Ash Johns:

thank you for joining me in this episode of it Still Happening.

Ash Johns:

, whether it's your first time being here, whether you've been around for a

Ash Johns:

while, um, it's just a delight and I'm really loving the vibe of this season

Ash Johns:

already and that even saying that I just got goosebumps, for my body.

Ash Johns:

So blessings to our spirits, our higher selves, our inner selves, our inner

Ash Johns:

children, all the multitudes of our personalities, our ancestors, our guides,

Ash Johns:

protectors, angels, and ascendant masters and God itself, himself, herself, and

Ash Johns:

our deities for being with us today.

Ash Johns:

Right now, I feel really passionate about today's episode.

Ash Johns:

I also feel incredibly excited about sharing this with you because

Ash Johns:

it's something I've been writing in my book, paths to Freedom.

Ash Johns:

If you don't know, I've been working on a book for some time.

Ash Johns:

Longer than official, but also kind of short if you look at it officially.

Ash Johns:

But either way, the book is on the way, and this is a major theme

Ash Johns:

in the beginning of the book.

Ash Johns:

It's the reason why the book is named what it is, which is Paths to Freedom, P

Ash Johns:

A T H S, paths like We Walk to Freedom.

Ash Johns:

And I really wish that someone had outlined what I'm teaching

Ash Johns:

and sharing with you today.

Ash Johns:

. And so that's the reason why I'm sharing it with you.

Ash Johns:

And this is not like just from my own walk in life, even though a lot of my teachings

Ash Johns:

are, this is also what I have witnessed from people I know from leaders in the

Ash Johns:

world of various different industries.

Ash Johns:

and also of course for my own clients.

Ash Johns:

And so I was like, you know what?

Ash Johns:

I can't wait to reveal this.

Ash Johns:

I feel that it's time to put this in a podcast episode and share it with

Ash Johns:

you and see how it might support you in your journey in your life

Ash Johns:

and who you are being and becoming.

Ash Johns:

And I hope it does, and if it does, go ahead.

Ash Johns:

If you're not already subscribed, definitely subscribe to the podcast.

Ash Johns:

I would love to see some ratings, some five star, four star, hell, if you

Ash Johns:

think it's mediocre, three star ratings.

Ash Johns:

But just rate the podcast.

Ash Johns:

And leave a review.

Ash Johns:

I would love to know how these episodes in particular, this episode, lands for you.

Ash Johns:

That means a lot to me because I'm seeing, and the team is seeing all of these

Ash Johns:

metrics and analytics coming through, and it's so delightful to see more and

Ash Johns:

more and more downloads literally as the days go by, as the weeks open and close.

Ash Johns:

And this month has been higher than any other previous month of this podcast ever.

Ash Johns:

And that just.

Ash Johns:

Speaks wonders to how great this podcast is feeling for me and how aligned it is

Ash Johns:

in this particular part of my journey.

Ash Johns:

So please leave a rating.

Ash Johns:

Please leave a review.

Ash Johns:

Thank you so much.

Ash Johns:

Let's jump in.

Ash Johns:

Here is what happened.

Ash Johns:

Like if you listen to a couple episodes ago, I was saying what

Ash Johns:

inspired me to come back to It's still Happening podcast and like having a

Ash Johns:

space to really open up the dam and.

Ash Johns:

Let the waters flow with the wisdom and knowledge and teachings and, um,

Ash Johns:

splitting that up on Instagram or Facebook or the Facebook group or my

Ash Johns:

email list, it just wasn't enough.

Ash Johns:

And I know the power of my voice and my energy, so I had

Ash Johns:

to come back to podcasting.

Ash Johns:

and before I came back to this podcast, I was being a podcast guest on other

Ash Johns:

people's podcasts for a while now.

Ash Johns:

It's something that I deeply, enjoy and appreciate, but it was starting

Ash Johns:

to get a bit stale and I talked about this a bit in a previous episode.

Ash Johns:

feel free to go back and check that out.

Ash Johns:

I think it was either last episode, episode 21, or even I've said it a little

Ash Johns:

bit in all the episodes, but anyway.

Ash Johns:

In those podcasts, people always ask me like, how did you get on your journey?

Ash Johns:

How did you become who you are?

Ash Johns:

How did you step into this work?

Ash Johns:

What was your one awakening of many awakening?

Ash Johns:

moments, like great awakenings or like spiritual awakenings,

Ash Johns:

and I'm like, oh my God, like my whole life has been about this.

Ash Johns:

Like, I can't pinpoint just one thing.

Ash Johns:

Of course, being a speaker in a podcast guest, I always have an answer, but

Ash Johns:

most times my answer is, well, I've been doing this my whole life, and then

Ash Johns:

I'll just pick out different points to.

Ash Johns:

the audience and the host.

Ash Johns:

I wanted to come back and actually outline, not my journey, but something

Ash Johns:

specific about the journey of a generational pattern breaker, the journey

Ash Johns:

of the woman who wants to have it all.

Ash Johns:

The journey of the woman who is a high achiever.

Ash Johns:

Who's out to make the money, have the things, create the life, do things

Ash Johns:

differently, find happiness, create stability, have an impact in the world,

Ash Johns:

even if that's only with one person herself or with many people, her family,

Ash Johns:

her community, her career, the people she's nurtured, so on and so forth,

Ash Johns:

right?

Ash Johns:

Which I know you are that because I am that and I attract women and men

Ash Johns:

and other fems and people who are on that path in our own respective

Ash Johns:

ways, like how we articulate or how we birth or the form that that path

Ash Johns:

takes on is many different ways.

Ash Johns:

You can birth it many different ways that it can look and feel, but at the end of

Ash Johns:

the day, that's what we're doing, right?

Ash Johns:

We are deciding to walk our path of freedom, deciding to be the people that

Ash Johns:

we're called to be deciding to have an impact on our family, and deciding to

Ash Johns:

break generational patterns that are seen and unseen in order for us to do that, to

Ash Johns:

be that, and to have that ripple effect.

Ash Johns:

Right?

Ash Johns:

Right.

Ash Johns:

So, as I was looking at how I started my journey, I was like, oh my God, I really

Ash Johns:

do need to go ahead and like outline and teach this because I see it and I

Ash Johns:

think and know that a lot of you're on your journeys wishing that someone had

Ash Johns:

outlined the key things that happen when you're walking and creating your path of

Ash Johns:

freedom, your creational lifestyle, your bringing your desires into form, In my

Ash Johns:

world, that's more than just manifesting because you can manifest all the things

Ash Johns:

and learn how to manifest and have all the riches or all the material items

Ash Johns:

or all the time freedom that you want.

Ash Johns:

But if you don't ever evolve as a human and know who you are, the patterns,

Ash Johns:

the limiting patterns, and the limiting energetic fields within your lineage

Ash Johns:

that are showing up in your life are always gonna make you feel dissatisfied,

Ash Johns:

are always gonna make you feel and be

Ash Johns:

disembodied from your power, and you're gonna be on this hamster wheel of chasing

Ash Johns:

things like there's never enough money, even when you make the great money

Ash Johns:

and have the stability, even when you have the relationship with the person.

Ash Johns:

Even when, even when, even when it's never gonna feel enough, right?

Ash Johns:

And that's really not about determining what's enough.

Ash Johns:

It's about getting whole within yourself.

Ash Johns:

That's the reason why I say, you know, my approach is, The whole woman

Ash Johns:

changes or the whole person changes, then their whole life changes, and we

Ash Johns:

do that over and over and over again.

Ash Johns:

Coming back to the trailer, coming back to episode 19 where I talked

Ash Johns:

about the evolution of me and the evolution of this podcast, and also

Ash Johns:

essentially the evolution of you.

Ash Johns:

Like that's why we're here, and healing and growth and

Ash Johns:

inspiration and all those things.

Ash Johns:

So, When I first started my journey, all I was fixated on at the time,

Ash Johns:

and this may or may not be you, is that I wanted the career, I wanted

Ash Johns:

the money, and to make the money.

Ash Johns:

I wanted to be a high achiever and someone who people respected and

Ash Johns:

looked to as a creative resource and as someone they respected and liked.

Ash Johns:

I wanted to get to the six figure salary or the multi six figure salary and a, the,

Ash Johns:

you know, chasing the corporate ladder.

Ash Johns:

. Sure.

Ash Johns:

I ended up going into a creative field because I'm a creative person.

Ash Johns:

If you don't know this, I worked in advertising, I worked in

Ash Johns:

branding, I worked in market research, I've made TV ads.

Ash Johns:

I've been the brain behind creative strategies that became, you know, magazine

Ash Johns:

ads, print ads, like so on and so forth.

Ash Johns:

digital advertising, all that stuff.

Ash Johns:

Like that's where I first started my career ages ago, it seems like , but

Ash Johns:

that's what I thought about as a teenager.

Ash Johns:

That's what I thought about as a young adult when I was in college.

Ash Johns:

That's all that I was desiring was like if I had the career and if I made the money.

Ash Johns:

And if I was in the position I wanted to be in, life would be great.

Ash Johns:

I'd have the vacation days, I'd have the friends, I'd have the recognition.

Ash Johns:

I'd have the man, I'd have the kids, I'd have the car, I'd have the house.

Ash Johns:

Right?

Ash Johns:

And like, don't get me wrong, I feel every single life coach talks

Ash Johns:

about, you know, it's not about the external, it's the internal.

Ash Johns:

, which is true, but I also know that we're still in that kind of spell,

Ash Johns:

in that consciousness on the planet still, even though we've got the

Ash Johns:

gig economy, it's still happening that we are looking externally.

Ash Johns:

As the start of our journey of becoming the people we wanna be.

Ash Johns:

And that makes sense because that is what society has

Ash Johns:

entrenched in us, has taught us.

Ash Johns:

We've been raised to be that way.

Ash Johns:

Even if you're of a different generation, it looks different.

Ash Johns:

It might taste a little different, but that's essentially what it

Ash Johns:

is, like make a good living.

Ash Johns:

Get good people around you, and that's a good life.

Ash Johns:

Like settle for that.

Ash Johns:

Accept that even if you don't know yourself.

Ash Johns:

And that's why we have our quarter life crises, midlife crises, end

Ash Johns:

of life crises, you know, or golden years crises because we have focused

Ash Johns:

on surviving, maintaining, having.

Ash Johns:

And showing up in that identity as opposed to who we truly are and deeply inside.

Ash Johns:

And then get to have all these external things right.

Ash Johns:

The nuance matters.

Ash Johns:

If you don't know this about me, the nuance matters.

Ash Johns:

. And so even though I got into the career and I did make the money and I did achieve

Ash Johns:

this six figure, salary and worked at some amazing agencies, I got depressed.

Ash Johns:

I was sad, I felt unfulfilled.

Ash Johns:

Um, and I think it's so interesting that I'm going back to my like, origin

Ash Johns:

story and also what I've seen with so many of my clients where they're

Ash Johns:

like, I work for Google, or I'm, you know, I'm in this career and I work

Ash Johns:

for education and I know that there is.

Ash Johns:

, right.

Ash Johns:

I know a lot of us women, that's how we describe it.

Ash Johns:

It's like we love the people that we worked with or we're working with.

Ash Johns:

We love the work that we are doing mostly, but we just couldn't ignore the call.

Ash Johns:

The call for something more, the desire for something different

Ash Johns:

and we can't always articulate.

Ash Johns:

. In fact, it was so interesting.

Ash Johns:

I was on somebody's, live, I caught it randomly, and the people, I think I might

Ash Johns:

have mentioned this in another episode, the person who was holding the live on

Ash Johns:

Instagram was like, . Think about what you do want, not what you don't want.

Ash Johns:

Like how about you outline that and so many people are in the commons being like,

Ash Johns:

it's hard for me to say what I do want.

Ash Johns:

I know what I don't want and I can do a whole podcast episode just on

Ash Johns:

that of like retraining your heart and your mind cuz that's not just

Ash Johns:

a mindset and a mentality thing.

Ash Johns:

I know that's what all the life coaches tell you, and emotional

Ash Johns:

EQ people teach you is like your mindset and like change your mindset.

Ash Johns:

But that is a heart thing.

Ash Johns:

That's a spiritual thing.

Ash Johns:

That's an energetic thing just as much as it is a mental thing.

Ash Johns:

In fact, it's heart thing, and then it becomes a mental thing where you can't

Ash Johns:

access your imagination and your desires.

Ash Johns:

But again, another episode for another time.

Ash Johns:

. So it's hard for us to usually articulate what we want, but we can

Ash Johns:

pinpoint what we don't want because it is very present in our lives.

Ash Johns:

So if you are here, whether you're in a career or not, you

Ash Johns:

could be an entrepreneur, you could be a stay-at-home mom.

Ash Johns:

It doesn't matter that our lives have to match the storyline

Ash Johns:

that I'm sharing with you.

Ash Johns:

But if you are in a moment in your life where you're like, I know there can be

Ash Johns:

more, I want more, I'm not quite sure how to articulate it, or you are articulating

Ash Johns:

it in this like lofty loosey, not quite clear, but you know, it's just better than

Ash Johns:

I have that all the time.

Ash Johns:

No judgment.

Ash Johns:

I get clients like that all the time.

Ash Johns:

That's okay.

Ash Johns:

Just get crystal clear of what you don't enjoy about your life that you

Ash Johns:

wanna evolve from, because when you can pinpoint those things and accept

Ash Johns:

that you're not satisfied in them, we can start seeing who you are actually

Ash Johns:

being called to be and evolve into and what that will bring and create into

Ash Johns:

your life, which is what you actually.

Ash Johns:

So a lot of times people are saying, I don't want this and I need to

Ash Johns:

jump right into what I do want.

Ash Johns:

But really there's a whole huge process in between and that is who you are becoming.

Ash Johns:

Right?

Ash Johns:

And a lot of times, you know, sometimes the way that coaches do this also, again,

Ash Johns:

I'm not trying to knock on the coach world cuz obviously I am a certified coach,

Ash Johns:

but I don't, I don't identify as that.

Ash Johns:

people will say, what do I desire?

Ash Johns:

And then who do I need to become to have it?

Ash Johns:

But I actually believe that you need to know what you don't want cuz

Ash Johns:

that's already present in your life.

Ash Johns:

And let's start figuring out who you wanna be.

Ash Johns:

Like what do, how do you wanna feel?

Ash Johns:

How do you wanna, you know what I mean?

Ash Johns:

Like, Again, I'm gonna stop myself cuz I'm getting totally off my notes.

Ash Johns:

And before you know it, this is gonna be an hour long podcast episode and I

Ash Johns:

don't want that to be the case this week.

Ash Johns:

So I will put a pen in that and I will create an episode for you on that.

Ash Johns:

And if you want that, let me know on Instagram.

Ash Johns:

Share this episode and remind me that you want me to come back and.

Ash Johns:

This tangent by making it an episode in and of itself, but I wanna get back

Ash Johns:

to these notes on this journey anyway, so you realize you want more and the

Ash Johns:

more the desire for more is the sign.

Ash Johns:

That's the only thing you need to start moving towards freedom to

Ash Johns:

start creating the life that you want, to start breaking generational

Ash Johns:

patterns and to step into your.

Ash Johns:

As a creational woman in your life and in your lineage, and that is with the help

Ash Johns:

and the healing of your ancestors, right?

Ash Johns:

So the more being the sign is the thing that makes everything change.

Ash Johns:

And some of us put off knowing and feeling that sign, that calling for

Ash Johns:

longer than we we should, or that we want.

Ash Johns:

Sometimes if you are in a career, it's kind of funny.

Ash Johns:

We like start hiring like career coaches and they start being like,

Ash Johns:

what's your ideal working situation?

Ash Johns:

And we can find the job for you and we can negotiate and like, that's fine, but

Ash Johns:

one of my mentors says this, and she's like, you're just learning

Ash Johns:

how to be a better beggar for love.

Ash Johns:

You know, that's what one of my mentors says.

Ash Johns:

And I, I personally feel that way, not, again, not to knock on career

Ash Johns:

coaches, but there is a moment where, yes, you may go through the journey of

Ash Johns:

trying to make means and make things, work in your favor in the short term

Ash Johns:

because you have responsibilities.

Ash Johns:

I understand that.

Ash Johns:

And there's the truth that.

Ash Johns:

robbing Peter to pay Paul or trying to move through all of this red tape and

Ash Johns:

carve out just a little corner of a little bit of happiness is still settling.

Ash Johns:

It's still selling yourself short and you will know if

Ash Johns:

that message is for you or not.

Ash Johns:

And either way, I'm just the messenger and sending love to support and inspire

Ash Johns:

in this podcast, um, and guide and teach.

Ash Johns:

So yeah, it's.

Ash Johns:

But also it's not okay if you know you really want more and permission to say,

Ash Johns:

I really wanna know what's possible and I really want more for myself.

Ash Johns:

here, I'm giving it to you right now.

Ash Johns:

Okay.

Ash Johns:

. So I bring that up to say, when we put off that desire for more, and it's a

Ash Johns:

sign, it's really, it's not about the career, it's not about the position.

Ash Johns:

It's not about the industry or society.

Ash Johns:

I mean it is, but it isn't.

Ash Johns:

But more than those things.

Ash Johns:

It's about your body, it's about your spirit.

Ash Johns:

It's about your inner wisdom saying that you deserve to be doing something else

Ash Johns:

and being someone else, and that's doing something that's more aligned for you and

Ash Johns:

being more aligned with who you truly are.

Ash Johns:

And that's really what my journey, moving from college into the degree that I

Ash Johns:

wanted, into the career that I wanted, and out of it being like, that happened

Ash Johns:

so fast and I did so much in my life.

Ash Johns:

I love these skills.

Ash Johns:

How can I apply it elsewhere?

Ash Johns:

And who am I really called?

Ash Johns:

and what's the journey I'm gonna go on in order to bring that into fruition and

Ash Johns:

to step into that power and that purpose.

Ash Johns:

So I call this the moment where we set off to find our freedom, and it's the

Ash Johns:

reason why I actually have a signature program called Finding Your Freedom.

Ash Johns:

It's literally named for and after this journey, this

Ash Johns:

process, this like conviction.

Ash Johns:

Essentially like, hail Mary and come to Jesus moment where we're like, I

Ash Johns:

really need to know what my freedom is.

Ash Johns:

I really need to know what I want out of my life and that it's possible and

Ash Johns:

clarify it and own it and reclaim it.

Ash Johns:

We do this over and over and over again.

Ash Johns:

By the way, I'm just referring to the thing that when you're

Ash Johns:

beginning your journey, this is probably what resonates, you know,

Ash Johns:

so not only have.

Ash Johns:

continually guided myself through finding my freedom, cuz

Ash Johns:

it's not a one and done thing.

Ash Johns:

But there is milestones and breakthroughs and clarity points, right?

Ash Johns:

But I've also done this with hundreds if not thousands of women,

Ash Johns:

and each of us have had our own destinations, which are still unfolding

Ash Johns:

And so this episode is for me to break down the guideposts, the field notes,

Ash Johns:

the mile markers, and the milestones that happen along the way, of you

Ash Johns:

finding and defining and claiming your freedom and your power as a

Ash Johns:

creation woman and creation human.

Ash Johns:

To actualize that, for it to come out of your spirit and out of your

Ash Johns:

heart into your mind, and then get birth physically into your existence.

Ash Johns:

It's embodied in the way that you show up in the world.

Ash Johns:

And then it's also manifested in the existence of what you experience

Ash Johns:

and how people experience you and what you get to have and hold

Ash Johns:

and be known as in the world.

Ash Johns:

Right.

Ash Johns:

now before I even break down this whole process, or Journey, I wanna

Ash Johns:

let you know that if this is already resonating and it's intriguing you and

Ash Johns:

it's speaking to you, definitely check out the free training in the show notes

Ash Johns:

called, so you want Clarity in Alignment.

Ash Johns:

It's a five day training that I recorded and it's delivered

Ash Johns:

through a private podcast.

Ash Johns:

So I already know you're into private podcast.

Ash Johns:

and it's delivered through a private podcast.

Ash Johns:

So I already know you're into podcasting.

Ash Johns:

You're totally gonna love this.

Ash Johns:

But it guides you through how to find the clarity and get the

Ash Johns:

alignment in your life if you're ready to walk that path to freedom.

Ash Johns:

If you're ready to step into a new version of yourself, get clear on how

Ash Johns:

you're gonna show up in your role, in your, in your life and your family, how

Ash Johns:

you're gonna confront the people who are like, what the hell are you doing?

Ash Johns:

Like all of that.

Ash Johns:

Definitely go to the show notes and sign up.

Ash Johns:

It's.

Ash Johns:

Five days really short, I think 20 minute recordings each called

Ash Johns:

So you want Clarity and Alignment.

Ash Johns:

Okay, so, paths to Freedom is my debut book.

Ash Johns:

It's the name of my debut book, and it's also 6 paths that I know a lot of us who

Ash Johns:

are high achieving women or we identified as high achieving women, the go-getter,

Ash Johns:

again, the generational pattern breaker.

Ash Johns:

We walk these six paths we do, and it, again, it can look many different

Ash Johns:

ways, but I have seen it so many times that I was like, you know what?

Ash Johns:

I know you probably need to hear this.

Ash Johns:

You can identify where you are, and I want you to know that you can be

Ash Johns:

in any of these paths or stages or phases in your life more than once.

Ash Johns:

This is not linear and you can start at any point, although the first

Ash Johns:

time it usually goes in this order.

Ash Johns:

So number one, we usually start in the pursuit of money.

Ash Johns:

And if you're like me, you're in the pursuit of money through the

Ash Johns:

means of something that you feel passionate about, something that

Ash Johns:

aligns with your quote unquote purpose.

Ash Johns:

But sometimes we're just like, what can I do that I don't hate and I can make the

Ash Johns:

money that I need so I can have the space.

Ash Johns:

I need to figure out who I am and go places and explore.

Ash Johns:

Like we usually chase the money first, which is understandable.

Ash Johns:

Our society is built off of money and capitalism and all the things.

Ash Johns:

Number one, and this was me, like as a kid, I was like, okay,

Ash Johns:

if I make money, I'll be great.

Ash Johns:

In college, I was like, let me just get this degree so I can get this job.

Ash Johns:

Like that was the focus.

Ash Johns:

And even in this like entrepreneurial online world, it's like, let me

Ash Johns:

have an online business and then I'll have time and money freedom and

Ash Johns:

like freedom to do whatever I want.

Ash Johns:

And so a lot of times we equate money with freedom, understandably so.

Ash Johns:

But I have a lot to teach and say about this, which I'll

Ash Johns:

be talking about in just a.

Ash Johns:

But we're looking to be supported doing something you absolutely

Ash Johns:

love and brings you meaning.

Ash Johns:

That's the reason why you're in pursuit of the money.

Ash Johns:

You just wanna be supported doing something you absolutely love.

Ash Johns:

And if you can get the money by doing something you absolutely love, then

Ash Johns:

it seems like the problem is solved.

Ash Johns:

But the truth is, you and I and other women and other people on this planet

Ash Johns:

have done something meaningful and have made the money and then still.

Ash Johns:

Feel unfulfilled, right?

Ash Johns:

Or it's short-lived.

Ash Johns:

Why is that, right?

Ash Johns:

So the next phase that comes after that, or the next path, is essentially beginning

Ash Johns:

to walk the path of understanding and discovering who you truly are.

Ash Johns:

Not just your college educate self, not just your resilient self, not just

Ash Johns:

your go-getter self or your smart self, not your quote unquote sub personality.

Ash Johns:

The aspect of yourself that the world knows you as, or

Ash Johns:

that you present yourself as.

Ash Johns:

You start going beyond that, this is where you start soul search.

Ash Johns:

Right.

Ash Johns:

And you're like, who am I?

Ash Johns:

And what am I gonna do?

Ash Johns:

And you're trying to hold the whole way that you're making money.

Ash Johns:

Like, but you're like, there's something's not quite right.

Ash Johns:

You're having an identity crisis, right?

Ash Johns:

But you haven't totally cracked open, which leads us to path three.

Ash Johns:

. Things start to crumble in a sense, and you realize you can no longer

Ash Johns:

push through and put up with the status quo, so you start to seek

Ash Johns:

your higher purpose for real, for.

Ash Johns:

And get into healing.

Ash Johns:

This is where we take sabbaticals and we go to Bali, we go to Costa

Ash Johns:

Rica, we go to Italy, right?

Ash Johns:

We go on a women's retreat, we hire our first coach, we start going to therapy.

Ash Johns:

We look at all these different healing modalities, right?

Ash Johns:

Like.

Ash Johns:

, we look at hypnotherapy, so on and so forth.

Ash Johns:

Like you start being like, something's not right.

Ash Johns:

I'm feeling a little depressed.

Ash Johns:

I'm feeling a little sad.

Ash Johns:

I'm feeling a lot of anxiety and anxiousness, and something's gotta give.

Ash Johns:

And I'm willing to look at the ways that I can treat this, resolve this,

Ash Johns:

evolve this, what is my solution?

Ash Johns:

And then we move into path four, which is where we have to face the

Ash Johns:

deep personal fears, the ancestral patterns, wounds and blessings too,

Ash Johns:

that are gonna help you carve out the space to realize who you truly are

Ash Johns:

and what your real path in life is.

Ash Johns:

And I really, really love this part.

Ash Johns:

I know it's the thing that people wanna like avoid, but this is the alchemy.

Ash Johns:

This is where you start transforming your life.

Ash Johns:

When you start realizing what you're truly afraid of, what you've really

Ash Johns:

been avoiding, what has been ingrained in you, it's not just the control freak

Ash Johns:

that your mother was, and you realize you've become the control freak also.

Ash Johns:

It's deeper than that.

Ash Johns:

. And so that really leads you into path five, four, and five really

Ash Johns:

happens simultaneously really, really closely because that's when the

Ash Johns:

healing starts to happen in Path five.

Ash Johns:

That's where you start to alchemize your fears.

Ash Johns:

That's when you start to transmute and overcome these different patterns

Ash Johns:

and start rising into your role and finding your authority and finding your

Ash Johns:

voice, and seeing your new identity and seeing yourself differently.

Ash Johns:

And this is also such a fun time because we.

Ash Johns:

Like creating and imagining and experimenting and combining different

Ash Johns:

things to make something new.

Ash Johns:

We're testing stuff out.

Ash Johns:

We're taking risks.

Ash Johns:

We're trusting ourselves.

Ash Johns:

We're betting on ourselves.

Ash Johns:

Right?

Ash Johns:

We're investing in ourselves.

Ash Johns:

Like Path five is fun.

Ash Johns:

We're starting to get fucking energy behind it, right?

Ash Johns:

And we're meeting people who are like-minded.

Ash Johns:

We're meeting people who are like, you know, I quit my job too, and I just

Ash Johns:

started, you know, working at a store or.

Ash Johns:

You know, doing whatever we're doing, shoveling ice cream, which is

Ash Johns:

funny, I said shoveling ice cream.

Ash Johns:

But we take a break and we start trying other things, birthing

Ash Johns:

businesses, and we don't even see ourselves the way that we did before.

Ash Johns:

And what's so fun about Path Five is we start getting recognition from

Ash Johns:

other people for going after it.

Ash Johns:

I remember this in my journey and I still get this, but I remember it.

Ash Johns:

It was like everything I wrote on Facebook, people were like, I'm

Ash Johns:

living vicariously through you.

Ash Johns:

Oh my God, Ash, of course.

Ash Johns:

That's so you.

Ash Johns:

I'm so proud.

Ash Johns:

You inspire me.

Ash Johns:

You're great.

Ash Johns:

From like the most mundane things I would just share online.

Ash Johns:

You know, this is also where we start like doing things like looking at

Ash Johns:

our bodies and like doing fast or getting into nutrition and health and.

Ash Johns:

Looking at the insides, like how we have to take care of ourselves spiritually,

Ash Johns:

mentally, emotionally, and physically, and how that helps to create the person

Ash Johns:

that we truly are and our essence and our consciousness, and our beingness,

Ash Johns:

because it's through those things that we then birth what we really want,

Ash Johns:

that we then manifest who we truly are and embody that no matter where.

Ash Johns:

whether what we have and what we don't have.

Ash Johns:

And then we move into the final path, path six then is when

Ash Johns:

we arrive to live and embody.

Ash Johns:

, this is when you start tapping into your queen vibes.

Ash Johns:

Personally, I call it your embodied and expressed empress, right?

Ash Johns:

You have your new standards in place, you have your, you

Ash Johns:

don't even have to worry about.

Ash Johns:

Um, reinforcing boundaries because you shifted so much.

Ash Johns:

Who you are is the boundary, like the bullshit that used to deal with

Ash Johns:

when you had your regular day job.

Ash Johns:

Being the person you were before is no longer coming to you anymore because

Ash Johns:

you're not even in that vibration.

Ash Johns:

You're not even in that consciousness.

Ash Johns:

And I personally have experienced that and experienced that and so have my client.

Ash Johns:

You know, and I love all these books from psychologists who teach us

Ash Johns:

about boundaries and all of that.

Ash Johns:

But when the whole woman or the whole person changes all of those codes of

Ash Johns:

what you're available for and what you're not available for are in you.

Ash Johns:

Right?

Ash Johns:

You don't have to keep reinforces.

Ash Johns:

Now, don't get me wrong, people will try to test you cuz that's

Ash Johns:

just humanity and other energies and consciousness in society cuz they're

Ash Johns:

still in the programs that they're in.

Ash Johns:

But you have changed.

Ash Johns:

and so you will deal with those situations differently.

Ash Johns:

So I've just run through these six paths very quickly.

Ash Johns:

I can't wait till the book pass, the freedom comes out.

Ash Johns:

It's gonna be awesome to really teach and expound upon all of

Ash Johns:

these paths in a such a unique way.

Ash Johns:

I haven't seen anyone teach like this, and that's because it's, for me, it's from.

Ash Johns:

but I know this journey like the back of my hand, , and I know this

Ash Johns:

journey like the back of my hand through the lives of many different

Ash Johns:

women, and I'm just so honored to have been able to work with them.

Ash Johns:

And I'm honored to be the person that I am who continually walks these paths to

Ash Johns:

continually create the freedom that I want to live in my life and to inspire

Ash Johns:

you in living yours and your life.

Ash Johns:

So before we move forward and wrap up this episode, if these paths resonate

Ash Johns:
