-:I'm finding it hard to claim the word author even though I've written for many publications over the last few years, and don't
-:get me started on how I feel about hosting a book launch.
-:However, here I am feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
-:Here I am concentrating on progress and not perfection.

-:Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your wisdom and expertise with the world. Alex and Lisa, thank you.
-:The book is divided into 4 sections, awareness, acceptance, action, and alignment.
-:And for today's podcast episode, we focus on awareness.
-:We cannot start to make changes in our lives unless we first consciously see what we'd like to be different.
-:In today's fast paced and busy world, it's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of daily activities and lose touch with
-:what's really happening to us, for us and around us.
-:We often find ourselves living on autopilot, going through the motions without truly experiencing the present moment and perhaps
-:with alcohol we are blocking some of that out.
-:By cultivating awareness, we can regain control of our lives and find a deeper sense of fulfilment and purpose.
-:Can you begin the practice of being fully present in the moment without judgment?
-:It involves paying attention to your thoughts, feelings and behaviors as they arise.
-:It involves really starting to notice your internal dialogue and follow on actions.
-:This practice will begin to help you break free from automatic patterns that no longer serve you.
-:Can you start to self reflect more?
-:This can be done through journaling, meditation, or simply finding a quiet time to contemplate.
-:Reflect on your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, and ask yourself useful questions about your life's direction, values, and goals.
-:This process allows you to gain insights into yourself and make conscious choices that align with who you really want to be. Embrace learning.
-:Introduce novelty into your life by trying new activities, exploring new places, or practicing new skills.
-:Engaging in novel experiences stimulates your mind and senses, heightening your awareness.
-:Stretch your comfort zone and embrace the unknown.
-:How are you ever going to know what it feels like to be somebody who doesn't drink?
-:Unless you bring awareness to that idea that you could be somebody who doesn't drink.
-:Be open to learning from every experience, whether it's success or failure.
-:By continuously learning and growing, you expand your perspective and bring more awareness into your life.
-:Take care of your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
-:Engage in activities that support your body such as exercise, proper nutrition, and sufficient rest.
-:Practise self compassion and self acceptance, embracing both your strengths and your imperfections.
-:By prioritising some self care you create a strong foundation for awareness to flourish.
-:Notice what society and the media have told you and continue to tell you.
-:Question it: Is what you thought you knew really correct?
-:Once we are aware of the excuses, untruths, doubt, fear and begin to recognize the internal struggle we can safely move towards
-:accepting some of our reality and some of what we'd like to transform.
-:Please head over to the show notes.
-:You can click the link to sign up for further book details.
