But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy;
In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.
The Psalmist. Psalm 5:7. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 14 of 30 Days of Psalms. Mercy. Mercy by the bucket loads. That’s what brought the Psalmist into God’s house. That’s what moved his heart to worship. When I stop to consider who I am, I am moved with wonder that this God would look into my face—knowing my whole story and all my liabilities—and in that full awareness tell me he loves me without condition. More, that he would invite me into relationship with him. Tell me that he wanted me to work for him—risk his reputation on me. And in the end, invite me to live in his house. That’s wonder-making stuff. It’s this recognition that moved the Psalmist to worship in spell-bound awe.
