Shownotes

In this episode, I talk about the importance of planting seeds in your tutoring or education business, especially at the start of a new year or a new season. Why business growth takes time and why expecting constant results from your marketing and sales efforts can lead to frustration and burnout. Just like in nature, there are cycles. Planting. Nurturing. Growing. Harvesting.

I share a simple mindset shift to help you stay consistent, trust the process, and understand that quiet periods often support long term business growth and sustainable sales.

Enjoy :-)

Sumantha:

I want to talk today about something that is really easy to forget in business, especially at the start of your business, the start of a new year, or the start of a new season, and that is the idea of planting seeds.

Sumantha:

I once read a book where the author talked about how we think about growth in nature. When people grow vegetables, there is a cycle. You plant the seeds, you water them, you give them time, they grow, and then you harvest.

Sumantha:

No one plants a seed on Monday and stands over the soil on Tuesday wondering why it has not produced anything yet. And I think that is a really useful thing to remember.

Sumantha:

When it comes to ourselves and our businesses, we forget this completely. We expect constant output, constant results, and if we do not see immediate returns, we start questioning everything.

Sumantha:

This is especially common at the start of a year or a new cycle. You change your offers, your messaging, your systems, or you start showing up more consistently, and then you wait. And that waiting can feel really uncomfortable.

Sumantha:

But this is the seed planting phase. The most important work in your business often happens underground. It is invisible, it does not get applause, but it is essential.

Sumantha:

If you try to jump straight to harvesting, you are asking your business to produce without being nourished first. Every business moves through cycles, and if things feel quiet, it does not mean it is not working.

Sumantha:

Your job is to keep watering the seeds, stay consistent, and trust the process. Growth is happening even if you cannot see it yet.
