A scoreless first quarter made way for a Laker drubbing, scoring on five of their last six possessions and defeating the Sandusky Wolves 44-16.
Sandusky moved the ball well to begin the game but the Laker defense kept them out of the endzone, forcing three turnovers on downs all inside of the 30-yard line. Lakers were paced by Colt Talaski with 25 carries for 219 yards and two scores. Talaski also brought in a catch for 48 yards. Defensively, he finished with five tackles with one sack. Carson McCain finished the game with 20 carries for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Through the air, McCain was 2-7 for 63 yards and one touchdown, brought in my Mitchell Murawski.
The Wolves were able to muster 275 yards of total offense with 95 yards coming from Jackson Reinke's rushing attack. Quarterback Tyler Bush ended up with 80 yards on 13 carries with one score. Passing, Bush completed 11 passes from 23 attempts for 77 yards. Bush threw one interception, as well as one touchdown pass to Danny Tovar, who completed his first game second Week 02 with four receptions for 56 yards.
With the win, Lakers have won three in a row and four of their last five games. They now travel to Millington to try and force a split for the Big Thumb - White division title. Sandusky falls to 1-5 and likely shuts the door on any playoff chances.
