8
:
byc__troy & macy_raw-synced-video-cfr_riverside_0088:
Welcome, my name is Macy Cole.
9
:
And I am Troy Cole.
10
:
And we are the owners of Emotion
Fitness and Yoga Pilates Bar.
11
:
Community is so important because it's
a chosen family that works through a
12
:
common thread that brings us all together.
13
:
And the power of community is
that two is greater than one.
14
:
And when you are surrounded by people that
are Working towards a common goal you can
15
:
utilize that strength and the opportunity
of multiple people working together to
16
:
build and grow whatever it is that you're
wanting to work towards more efficiently,
17
:
effectively, and in a lot more fun way.
18
:
Yeah, and community has
hugely impacted our business.
19
:
When it comes to our fitness and
our studio, community is everything.
20
:
aN example of that is recently,
and tragically, one of our students
21
:
underwent a tragic situation
where she was shot multiple times.
22
:
And it affected our entire
community and really made us realize
23
:
that when one of us is hurting.
24
:
We're all hurting and it was so
amazing to watch everyone come together
25
:
in their own unique way and really
rally around her every single day.
26
:
People were showing up at the
hospital, sharing stories, figuring
27
:
out ways to help and within four
days from a tragic situation that
28
:
she wasn't even supposed to survive.
29
:
She was actually able to leave the
hospital and now she is walking.
30
:
She attended a yoga class here in town.
31
:
And we really feel like.
32
:
It was through the community
and the support of like minded
33
:
individuals coming together in the
power of love that gave her that
34
:
strength and she owes a lot to that.
35
:
Shout out to Shelly
Lancaster, you're the best.
36
:
So that's just one example of the power of
community and what it is to be surrounded
37
:
by people that are here to encourage,
lift you up, and love you no matter what.
38
:
Yeah, and three awesome tips that we could
help you use today to grow your community.
39
:
Are clarification, connection.
40
:
And really clarifying who you are,
what you're wanting to build in
41
:
this world, and the type of people
that you want to build it with you.
42
:
Connection, just meaning that when people
are starting to join your community
43
:
and being about what you're about,
you're creating those deep and genuine
44
:
connections with them, that you don't
just see them as a number or a dollar
45
:
sign, but as a genuine person there
to help make the world a better place.
46
:
And then for that third one, if you
want to touch on that engagement.
47
:
So there's so many ways these days
that we can engage with our community.
48
:
We have this powerful tool online.
49
:
Instagram is, has been fun and
we use it as a tool of engagement
50
:
rather than a profiting tool.
51
:
So how can we get more people involved in
anything that we're doing in a quick way?
52
:
And be thinking of those things.
53
:
Things that you can do outside together,
maybe unrelated to your business at
54
:
all, that just brings people together.
55
:
So that's where engagement comes
in in any way, shape or form.
56
:
And so really just to wrap it all up is
if you are looking to build a community,
57
:
it means that you are looking to build.
58
:
And in this world, and there are a lot of
people and a lot of companies and podcasts
59
:
and things being built right now, but more
than ever, we are in need of community
60
:
people every single day may interact with
others and still feel alone, they may feel
61
:
undervalued, unseen, misunderstood, and
so to build a community is really to say,
62
:
I'm ready to make an impact, and I'm ready
to create positive change, and I want to
63
:
link arms with other people Who resonate
with the way that I want to make that
64
:
impact on when you do that, you create
an environment for those that come after
65
:
us to kind of rest in the shade of our
hard work through the power of community.
66
:
And if joining our community is
something that sounds really awesome
