Hello, hello and welcome to the Borealis
Unknown:experience. I'm very excited to have Louis Brantmeyer with me
Unknown:for the third time. He's made it three times, I'll do a podcast
Unknown:here. I wonder why? Well, just badass energy. The first time
Unknown:around, we talked about his journey, out of depression into
Unknown:success, out of a mess into fulfillment and living a happy
Unknown:life. The second time around, we talked about pornography, how
Unknown:Luis was able to conquer pornography addiction, and it
Unknown:was very, very touching and insightful for many people out
Unknown:there. And today, I wanted him back on my show. And we will be
Unknown:talking about resilience, how to be resilient as fuck, and a
Unknown:messy world like we live in today and how to not lose your
Unknown:sanity. With everything that's going on right now. Louis,
Unknown:invite us and share with us how you navigate through this crazy
Unknown:world crazy, beautiful world. And yeah, maybe share some some
Unknown:tools that you're using that you would love us to use as well. In
Unknown:order to become more resilient, the more resilient we become as
Unknown:individuals, the stronger our relationships are, the stronger
Unknown:our society can be.
Unknown:I can't tell you how excited
Unknown:I will be back.
Unknown:I didn't even know how exciting that would be until like just
Unknown:now way back in the days to do this year, is to jump on reality
Unknown:straight. So um, yeah, I'll set some context. And then I'll
Unknown:throw out some tools and we'll have some fun.
Unknown:Yes.
Unknown:I have been in the startup world, which is a certain branch
Unknown:of athletics, mind you. If you're doing it, right. It's
Unknown:like it requires physical, mental, emotional, energetic
Unknown:conditioning. For let's see, almost 10 years now. And now
Unknown:what I do is I help heart centered women coaches scale to
Unknown:six figures in their businesses. And all of that has required me
Unknown:to take excellent care of myself. Now this, this is part
Unknown:of the answer to the question of resilience, because why would we
Unknown:want to be resilient? Most people are content to, quite
Unknown:frankly, most people are considered to die with their
Unknown:music inside of them, to live comfortable lives, and to live
Unknown:lives of quiet desperation. And those are not the people that
Unknown:I'm necessarily speaking. I'm speaking to people who want to
Unknown:live life to the fullest, who want to conquer and master and
Unknown:accomplish things and enjoy things and have not just a good
Unknown:relationship, but the best relationship have not just the
Unknown:modicum of wealth that they get from their social security or
Unknown:their 401k. I'm talking like, well, of making more to give
Unknown:more, doing well in order to do good in the world. So the first
Unknown:question somebody has to answer about resilience is why would
Unknown:they want it? For me, it became a necessity, because I'm the
Unknown:only one or in the past until I've gathered a team around me
Unknown:of support, like a village, I was the only one to keep the
Unknown:ball rolling down the field, or to keep the needle moving. So
Unknown:for me, I'm very early on in my entrepreneurial career, what I
Unknown:noticed was, if I'm feeling good, if I'm taking care of
Unknown:myself, it's kind of like, when you take care of a fine violin,
Unknown:that violin, it plays better, it makes a better sound. Its music
Unknown:is more appreciated and beautiful. And consider that
Unknown:each one of us is like that fine violin. We are meant to
Unknown:contribute something really beautiful to the symphony of the
Unknown:world. And when we take exquisite like luxurious, like
Unknown:I'm talking royal care of ourselves, resilience and the
Unknown:ability to meet anything head on, shows up from that. So I see
Unknown:this landing I'm so excited because it's a podcast, but I
Unknown:get to watch Aurora the whole time. So there are a lot of
Unknown:different things and I'll just walk you through some of the
Unknown:most important tools that I use regularly. Right so I do breath
Unknown:work. There is a little something called the nine
Unknown:breath. Based on the work of Jeff prime Mac. I think you can
Unknown:find it on And it literally relaxes and clears all the
Unknown:muscles in the body, it can induce sort of psychedelic type
Unknown:states of like clarity and focus, I use a breath called the
Unknown:MBA or the mind body alignment taught by Kai von Bodhi, I do
Unknown:the classic. If you're in yoga, you already know this. But the
Unknown:Yes, the alternate nostril Nadi shodhana. I do the Breath of
Unknown:Fire to help wake me up and help me digest things.
Unknown:And to build an energy field. So part of it is noticing where
Unknown:your energy is at and cultivating a high frequency.
Unknown:And here's the thing, I'm not going to get through all of the
Unknown:tools in the time that we've got, but I've got a PDF called
Unknown:tools for owning your state that I'd love to gift, everybody
Unknown:within the sound of the voice of this podcast, because I've been
Unknown:working on like, how do we optimize how we're feeling? How
Unknown:do we feel good in our bodies? How do we relax and recover from
Unknown:states of high flow? Or states of high productivity or
Unknown:activity? How do we, you know, feel good in the midst of our
Unknown:lives? And there's so many answers. I mean, if you're in
Unknown:communication, if you're in action, generally, you'll feel
Unknown:better than if you aren't. But then there's also like
Unknown:saturation points. So resilience is built through being aware of
Unknown:yourself, and what your flow is moment to moment, into your path
Unknown:of least resistance that lights you up that gets you excited to
Unknown:be in action throughout the day. And also noticing when you're
Unknown:done on my retreat recently, it was awesome, because I had such
Unknown:a, and I still do on some level, I'm just, you know, more or less
Unknown:present to it moment by moment, such a connection to my
Unknown:intuition that I was teaching, and I was teaching for like an
Unknown:hour and a half. And then there was just this moment, where it
Unknown:became very clear, it was like, they're full, and they're
Unknown:hungry, or, or it's time to finish. All I got the message
Unknown:that I got was it's time to stop. So I literally for the
Unknown:first time that I can remember in my teaching, I stopped
Unknown:immediately and I checked in I was like, are you guys hungry?
Unknown:And they're like, Yes, all of them nodded their heads. And I
Unknown:was like, Okay, so we're stopping here. So it's it's
Unknown:something that if you don't know when to stop, or you don't know
Unknown:that relaxation and recovery is as important as being super
Unknown:productive, then you can end up with problems like adrenal
Unknown:fatigue, which I did, where I had insomnia, difficulty
Unknown:sleeping for years. Because I kept pushing, I just kept
Unknown:working, just kept fighting. And while it is the case that if
Unknown:you're building a business or creating something in the world,
Unknown:you're 100% responsible for making that happen. And you may
Unknown:have to discover power and will and strength and focus in
Unknown:yourself that you didn't know was there before or build it. At
Unknown:the same time. Be careful where you point that thing. Like if
Unknown:you point your willpower in such a way that you're abusing or
Unknown:disrespecting your body, or not listening to your body,
Unknown:ultimately, then you can end up as lots of six and seven figure
Unknown:entrepreneurs end up which is burnt out, which is unfulfilled
Unknown:by their life. And I've flirted with this several times in the
Unknown:past six months or has not been fun, where I'll go through a
Unknown:period of a week where I don't take a day off, or two weeks
Unknown:when I'm hitting I'm hustling, hustling, grind, grit and
Unknown:determination, which there's an ebb and flow to that in
Unknown:business. Sometimes it's more allowing and receiving and being
Unknown:in Ruston, Louisiana house sitting with my beloved doing
Unknown:exactly only two hours of work per day and making five grand in
Unknown:a week like Okay, great. Um, sometimes it's like, Alright,
Unknown:I'm going to do four or five hours of work today. I'm going
Unknown:to push myself I'm going to stay super focused. It's going to be
Unknown:from like, 10am to like 8pm, somewhere in there with breaks.
Unknown:Oh, take breaks and put whitespace on your calendar.
Unknown:That's super big. Yes, still practice. Huh? So anyway, um,
Unknown:what's landing so far? Go ahead. Yes,
Unknown:yes. Like I totally agree with everything that you say like the
Unknown:most important thing is that you take good care of yourself. And
Unknown:then you can start thinking about giving to others
Unknown:contributing to the world. I would like to hear your thoughts
Unknown:on consuming content. What I've learned on my journey is that
Unknown:it's extremely important. What kind of news I consume if at
Unknown:all, I got rid of my TV and I'm so I feel so good about it. When
Unknown:it comes to social media, who people like follow and what
Unknown:content they are consuming. Can we talk about how What we
Unknown:consume without eyes, our ears is also affecting our levels of
Unknown:stress.
Unknown:Yes, this is so good. I'm so glad you you introduce this
Unknown:thread. Because everything, everything is programming
Unknown:everything. And it's a question of who and what you're choosing
Unknown:to program yourself with. So like, whatever you put your
Unknown:attention on grows and expands, your attention comes through
Unknown:sight, sound, hearing, taste, and touch. So like this morning,
Unknown:I listen to my intuition. And my fiance was she's been sleeping
Unknown:on this couch while she's, you know, finding her footing in the
Unknown:Boston area. And my intuition was like, just go Hold her, just
Unknown:go cuddle because usually we're very strict about like going and
Unknown:doing your morning routines before we engage, which is
Unknown:another lesson, I'll just point to, like, take time for yourself
Unknown:with yourself without any content without anyone else
Unknown:generally, to make that the first priority, because if you
Unknown:don't, no one else will. But what my touch sense was craving,
Unknown:in terms of nurturing was to touch her and to be touched by
Unknown:her. And there's an oxytocin release, after 30 seconds of
Unknown:cuddling or a hug that is really nourishing. And so anyway, um, I
Unknown:spent the next hour hour and a half consuming no content from
Unknown:anyone else, except for a yoga video. And I know how to manage
Unknown:that yoga video so that I'm not sold to, because anybody who's
Unknown:who's effective and powerful in giving a free yoga class on
Unknown:YouTube, you bet your butt there, they're marketing really
Unknown:well at the beginning and the end. And so like, I know exactly
Unknown:where to start the videos so that my time my energy, and my
Unknown:attention isn't consumed by someone else's influence or
Unknown:programming. So we want we want an amount of time where there's
Unknown:nobody that we're impacted by next, we want to hang out with
Unknown:those who we want to be like. So those who you follow those who
Unknown:you put your attention on, you want them to be the ones who are
Unknown:successful in the areas that you're becoming successful in,
Unknown:or have them be creative collaborators and potential
Unknown:colleagues who you can contribute to, and add value
Unknown:into the network of and are inspired and uplifted by I'd say
Unknown:anyone and I do this regularly, I do a purge, regulate of my
Unknown:entire friends list on Facebook every three months or so. And my
Unknown:criteria is because I'm a creator I'm not Pratt primarily
Unknown:on social media to be consumer, I'm here to power plant doesn't
Unknown:need energy and power plant generates energy. So I'm I'm
Unknown:here to be one of those lights and that lighthouse that draws
Unknown:people into their highest expression. So if someone and
Unknown:there's an app is called friend filter, you can find out if
Unknown:you're standing in that power of being a creator, you can find
Unknown:out who's acting, interacting with your content and who's not.
Unknown:And you can start deleting those who are automatically and with a
Unknown:clear line in the sand drawn saying, hey, it's nothing
Unknown:personal, nothing, I don't love you. It's not that I don't want
Unknown:to be connected to you if that this platform is for my mission
Unknown:and purpose, and so on is that you keep are those who impact
Unknown:your mission and purpose in a positive way. Whether by
Unknown:consuming your content receiving your gifts, or harmonizing
Unknown:synergizing with your gifts. And there are other interesting
Unknown:habits. I have like on Instagram, everyone follows me,
Unknown:but I follow almost no one same on clubhouse, like I there. I
Unknown:know it's polite. Probably. This is the assumption, the covert
Unknown:agreement that everyone thinks they're making on Instagram is
Unknown:that if you follow me, I have to follow you know, maybe, maybe,
Unknown:but I also reserve my rights shoes. Yeah, so like, I don't
Unknown:have to follow. And I judge based on their vibration based
Unknown:on their energy based on their level of accomplishment were the
Unknown:average of the five people we spend the most time around. And
Unknown:if we're spending an hour or more on social media, we're
Unknown:spending time around either people who are not living the
Unknown:life of their dreams, not expressing resilience, or
Unknown:strength of character or consistency of focus, or we're
Unknown:choosing people who have all of those things.
Unknown:So I'm very strict on what I lead in. With the notable
Unknown:exception of Star Trek and other science fiction. That is a
Unknown:simulation to my mind. I I've read that certain sci fi has a
Unknown:really high vibration. And I've had this experience of having my
Unknown:heart open. So I'm also careful in that way. There used to be a
Unknown:time when I couldn't watch like violent movies or whatnot. I
Unknown:think there's a balance point that people reach Where they're
Unknown:not over consuming material that is negatively charged, but
Unknown:they're consuming it with an ability to buffer it and not not
Unknown:be impacted by it negatively. So yeah, I don't watch the news, by
Unknown:the way, I do occasionally gets specific news fed. To me, that's
Unknown:interesting by Facebook, they've managed to worm their way into
Unknown:my consciousness for about like, five to 10 minutes a week,
Unknown:because because it's news that I actually care about interesting
Unknown:stuff. Just because the news is there, just because there's five
Unknown:different variants of COVID or whatever, doesn't mean it's
Unknown:something that we need to care about. I mean, it's, it's
Unknown:useful, it was useful for me to know like how long the blizzard
Unknown:was going to last our first Blizzard in a decade here in
Unknown:Austin. So I use the news, but I don't let the news use me. Yes,
Unknown:thank you. I'm not Thank you, thank you. Because so many
Unknown:people I experienced right now run around like chickens with
Unknown:their head chopped off. Because they react to everything.
Unknown:There's so much out there, that triggers you emotionally. And
Unknown:people react to everything and need an opinion to everything, a
Unknown:reaction to everything. And I just think, Wow, that looks so
Unknown:exhausting, that looks really exhausting. And we have to at
Unknown:least give tools out to people to try it out to see hey, what
Unknown:happens to your stress levels to your sleep. When you don't watch
Unknown:TV and follow the news on a secondary basis. And you're a
Unknown:busy man, we're running out of time, what would be the three
Unknown:things can be repeat, that we advise people to do if they are
Unknown:close to a burnout, if they are feeling very low and have ideas
Unknown:and are very inspired to go do something but they just can't
Unknown:seem to find energy for it?
Unknown:I'm glad you asked. So there are three things that have been most
Unknown:impactful for me. One, meditation, whether it's 15
Unknown:minutes, or 30 minutes, or an hour a day, that will calm and
Unknown:relax your nervous system because we're built in his
Unknown:culture to go go go hustle and grind, push and fight and
Unknown:struggle and stress and strain and eventually suffer. We're not
Unknown:told, hey, it's as important to relax and calm down and gather
Unknown:your thoughts and clear your head. So there are so many
Unknown:benefits to meditation, mystical, energetic, emotional,
Unknown:spiritual, physiological, that are measured and documented,
Unknown:and, you know, too many for me to go into here. But I've had a
Unknown:practice of between 15 minutes and an hour a day for about nine
Unknown:years. Yeah, nine years. And what I'd say is, so long as
Unknown:you're consistent with it, it will improve every aspect of
Unknown:your life. Every aspect, like there's so much available. So
Unknown:that's number one. Number two, and I'll just be super rigorous
Unknown:and super clear. What I found, and this is coming from somebody
Unknown:who is on pharmaceuticals for ADHD, this is someone who was on
Unknown:supplements just to focus after I went off even when I was still
Unknown:meditating. What I have found that has facilitated me being
Unknown:the highest energy possible. And you've seen it, you know, when
Unknown:I'm here, for our podcasts is a high fruit, high alkaline plant
Unknown:based diet, like super simple. I have a strong belief and there's
Unknown:a good amount of evidence that there's a lot of conversation to
Unknown:have around it, that we're meant to eat fruits and vegetables.
Unknown:That we benefit from fruits and vegetables. I'm not gonna argue
Unknown:with people who want to say like, Well what about meat or
Unknown:not, I'm just saying emphasize more fruit and vegetables, it's
Unknown:easy to start consuming more of those plants. And especially
Unknown:high alkaline, especially high fruit. Because when we do that,
Unknown:the body is not heavy, it's not sluggish. It's not working
Unknown:overtime to digest stuff. We're not forcing we're not losing
Unknown:energy to the process of digestion. Like it, we're still
Unknown:digesting things, but we're not forcing our body to digest
Unknown:things that are difficult for it to digest. That was dramatic for
Unknown:me that plus meditation. I mean, I was able to do a 10 hour days
Unknown:of work while preparing to different events on a grape
Unknown:juice fast sleeping five hours a night, for like weeks in 2017,
Unknown:just because I had meditation and I had excuse me this this
Unknown:high fruit mostly vegan diet, right and again, if you want to
Unknown:build a true resilience, eating and a high fruit high alkaline
Unknown:way will also trigger and unleash potentially trapped
Unknown:emotions. Because the frequency the energy of fruits and
Unknown:vegetables is so high compared to what most people eat in terms
Unknown:of processed foods or lots of coffee or refined sugar or
Unknown:alcohol like that, literally, your body will start removing
Unknown:crap, not just physical toxins, but you know, it'll start
Unknown:detoxifying emotionally. So the more you detoxify emotionally,
Unknown:the easier it is to just be about your life and face
Unknown:whatever happens, right without resisting, I get to come up with
Unknown:a third one, the third one because those two are super
Unknown:clear to me, that's clear those two are like what
Unknown:the third one is actually a practice for getting into your
Unknown:heart, or eye and or your body. So whether it be Qigong, Tai
Unknown:Chi, yoga, whoo, Sue Kung Fu, like the martial arts, or just
Unknown:shaking, moving and dancing. There's something about the
Unknown:intuitive intelligence and wisdom the body that tells you
Unknown:how to do just what is most necessary and needed and, and
Unknown:smartest from the highest perspective, rather than
Unknown:hustling and grinding. And that that's a whole world to explore.
Unknown:is a practice called the Yeshua method that can be done where
Unknown:you and what whether you're Christian or not, doesn't
Unknown:matter. It still works. Whether you believe disbelieve whatever
Unknown:it's it's the Aramaic name for Christ's Yeshua, close your
Unknown:eyes, repeat it for 20 minutes, silently in your head, and then
Unknown:ask after that 20 minutes, which is built sort of like mantra
Unknown:yoga, to clear away the clouds of chaos in the thinking, and
Unknown:then ask what is it that I meant to do do next in my business or
Unknown:in my life, and I had amazing results moments where I got
Unknown:super clear, intuitive insights into what I was supposed to do
Unknown:next, that was super impactful in my life and world. So do just
Unknown:as much as you're meant to do, but don't do more than you have
Unknown:to do it a, basically vegan diet, and tune into your
Unknown:intuition.
Unknown:This is so beautiful, Louis, thank you so much for sharing
Unknown:this with us. Because you again, you make it very, very clear and
Unknown:simple to understand. And today, I learned that through your
Unknown:body, you influence your mind, if you take care of your body,
Unknown:it influences your mind. It influences the way you see
Unknown:yourself and the world. And that can make you a more resilient,
Unknown:calm person.
Unknown:Yeah, yeah, I think it's helpful to end on this this note. Most
Unknown:people have their bodies and their minds as adversaries. And
Unknown:they're, they're literally fighting against the momentum of
Unknown:their bodies, through the programming of how they eat, how
Unknown:they take care of themselves, how they sleep, whether or not
Unknown:they relax, and life becomes so much easier. When we just take
Unknown:better care of our bodies, then our bodies become our ally. And
Unknown:and that's what I look forward to in this world is people who
Unknown:are super resilient through just being kind to themselves
Unknown:ultimately,
Unknown:yes, yes. And see your body as your best friend. And because
Unknown:sickness and obesity or problems with weight, is the body
Unknown:basically telling you Hey, you're not taking good care of
Unknown:me. And we have to change something. And it's not about
Unknown:resenting and feeling like a victim. It's about seeing Okay,
Unknown:what do I need? And then becoming, yeah, one with your
Unknown:body, your mind and your soul. Louis? This was so endlessly
Unknown:precious. It is not about spending hours and hours on
Unknown:time. It is about having the precise message that we want to
Unknown:send out there and I feel we totally nailed it. You are so
Unknown:precious. Your mission is so precious. And yeah, we stay
Unknown:connected, please. And you take really good care of yourself.
Unknown:Absolutely. You
Unknown:too. I love you. I love your audience. You're
Unknown:amazing. Let's do this again. Love you too. Bye bye bye.
