Hello, everyone.
Speaker:If you're searching for
Speaker:purpose in your life, or would
Speaker:like to define your dreams
Speaker:and goals, then we have the
Speaker:perfect guest for you today.
Speaker:The wonderful Kristina
Speaker:Karlsson Kristina is
Speaker:the founder of Kiki K
Speaker:and Dream Life and the
Speaker:author of the book, Your
Speaker:Dream Life Starts Here.
Speaker:Kristina has empowered
Speaker:so many people around
Speaker:the world to find their
Speaker:purpose and start living
Speaker:their dream lives.
Speaker:Kristina, thank you
Speaker:so much for joining
Speaker:us today and welcome.
Speaker:Uh, thank you so much.
Speaker:I am so thrilled to be here.
Speaker:You have such an amazing story
Speaker:and I'd really love it if
Speaker:you could share with us your
Speaker:personal journey in basically
Speaker:finding your life's purpose.
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:It's a bit of a journey.
Speaker:So I grew up in Sweden,
Speaker:on a farm and I met
Speaker:my partner, Paul, in a
Speaker:ski resort in Austria.
Speaker:I was doing a
Speaker:ski season there.
Speaker:And then I came to Australia,
Speaker:the other side of the world.
Speaker:Um, And I was quite
Speaker:miserable and lonely.
Speaker:It was a real challenge to
Speaker:move to the other side of the
Speaker:world, you know, new language,
Speaker:new, new people, new culture.
Speaker:And, uh, I was really lost.
Speaker:I had no idea what
Speaker:to do with my life.
Speaker:And having spent quite a
Speaker:few years traveling the
Speaker:world, working in different
Speaker:countries, I was kind
Speaker:of ready to do something
Speaker:with purpose and something
Speaker:that I was, Really excited
Speaker:about doing, but I did
Speaker:not know what that meant.
Speaker:So I was winching and
Speaker:complaining and every day
Speaker:for anyone who would listen,
Speaker:I would say, what am I
Speaker:going to do with my life?
Speaker:And one morning at 3am, I
Speaker:woke up my partner, Paul,
Speaker:I think for the fifth
Speaker:time, this was a frequent,
Speaker:something I did all the time.
Speaker:Like what am I going to do?
Speaker:And, um.
Speaker:At 3am he was a bit over it,
Speaker:fair enough, and he said, uh,
Speaker:he turned on the light and
Speaker:he said, why don't we write
Speaker:down what is important to you?
Speaker:And, that was a great idea.
Speaker:Cause that was my
Speaker:first dreams on paper.
Speaker:And I think it's something
Speaker:really powerful for anyone
Speaker:listening to actually start
Speaker:writing down what you want in
Speaker:your life on paper, because
Speaker:you just see it versus
Speaker:having it roaming around
Speaker:your head all the time.
Speaker:So I wrote down that I
Speaker:wanted to drive to work every
Speaker:single day and loving it.
Speaker:I was working in a job
Speaker:that, that wasn't the
Speaker:case and I wasn't excited
Speaker:about going to work.
Speaker:And for anyone listening, I
Speaker:think that is so important
Speaker:to do something you love
Speaker:work wise because we
Speaker:spend so much time working
Speaker:and I think it should be
Speaker:something we really love.
Speaker:and I often reflect on this
Speaker:now, and I'm going to come
Speaker:back to, to my 3am story, but.
Speaker:Every day I wake up
Speaker:now, I am so incredibly
Speaker:excited and so incredibly
Speaker:grateful to do what I love.
Speaker:And I think if you get to
Speaker:that, and it's a bit of
Speaker:a journey to get to that.
Speaker:So for anyone listening, it
Speaker:doesn't happen overnight.
Speaker:It's a bit of a journey.
Speaker:So my second thing that I
Speaker:wrote down was to, have my
Speaker:own business, but I didn't
Speaker:know what that meant.
Speaker:I had no experience in my
Speaker:own business and, no idea
Speaker:what that was going to be.
Speaker:And then I wanted to have
Speaker:a connection with my home
Speaker:country being Sweden.
Speaker:This was before internet.
Speaker:It's hard to believe that
Speaker:the world even existed before
Speaker:internet, but I spent all
Speaker:my money phone bills and
Speaker:a trip home and, my little
Speaker:brother also had cancer,
Speaker:so I went home a couple of
Speaker:times, kind of last minute
Speaker:and he's well now, but it
Speaker:was really important for
Speaker:me to have that connection
Speaker:with my home country.
Speaker:I didn't want to
Speaker:choose to just.
Speaker:You know, being a new country
Speaker:and not having that connection
Speaker:to my, my home country.
Speaker:And then I wanted to
Speaker:work with Swedish design.
Speaker:That was something I
Speaker:was passionate about.
Speaker:And I truly believe that
Speaker:part of your purpose, you
Speaker:need to do something you're
Speaker:passionate about, not just
Speaker:something you care about.
Speaker:Because when things get
Speaker:tough, it's really important
Speaker:to be excited and know that
Speaker:Even if it's tough right
Speaker:now, I do what I love and
Speaker:I'm passionate about it.
Speaker:And then the last thing that
Speaker:I wanted that I had on my
Speaker:list was to make 500 a week.
Speaker:That was based on paying
Speaker:rent, eating some good food,
Speaker:drink some good wine, and
Speaker:then go home once a year.
Speaker:that was actually the
Speaker:hardest one because when you
Speaker:start your business, it's
Speaker:takes time to make money.
Speaker:And, uh, but luckily I was
Speaker:never really driven by money.
Speaker:I was the purpose.
Speaker:and the passion and my mission
Speaker:was so much more important
Speaker:than making lots of money.
Speaker:I just wanted to
Speaker:have my enough money
Speaker:to do what I loved.
Speaker:In terms of going home
Speaker:once a year and, and
Speaker:do some fun things.
Speaker:and out of that, those dreams
Speaker:on paper, Kiki Kay was born
Speaker:my first business, and when
Speaker:I wrote down that I wanted
Speaker:to have my own business, I
Speaker:would not even have imagined
Speaker:what that would have got
Speaker:me to, It was it was.
Speaker:Such an incredible
Speaker:journey, a journey that,
Speaker:lasted for over 25 years.
Speaker:And to make a very
Speaker:long story short, I
Speaker:lost Kiki Kay in COVID.
Speaker:And, um, that was the saddest
Speaker:day of my life, but the good
Speaker:thing, when you are clear on
Speaker:your purpose and when you're
Speaker:clear on your passions and
Speaker:when you're an entrepreneur,
Speaker:it's You just start again.
Speaker:And that's what I've done.
Speaker:And my big dream now is to
Speaker:inspire 101 million people
Speaker:to write down three dreams
Speaker:and go and chase them.
Speaker:And the reason for that
Speaker:is because I feel like
Speaker:when you do what you love,
Speaker:there's a ripple effect.
Speaker:You just, are able to
Speaker:influence other people
Speaker:to live their dream life
Speaker:and follow their purpose,
Speaker:whatever that is for them.
Speaker:And, I feel like life is too
Speaker:short not to, and, we're so
Speaker:lucky if we, if we are able
Speaker:to choose what we, no, that's
Speaker:not everyone's case, but if
Speaker:you are listening to this
Speaker:podcast, if you are one of
Speaker:those lucky people to be able
Speaker:to choose what you get to
Speaker:do, then that's an amazing.
Speaker:So that was a bit of a
Speaker:long, winded answer to
Speaker:your first question.
Speaker:It was a brilliant answer.
Speaker:When you lost Kiki
Speaker:K, how did you get
Speaker:yourself back on track?
Speaker:How did you keep yourself
Speaker:motivated or reset yourself
Speaker:to really start dream life?
Speaker:What was the journey there?
Speaker:that was a hard one.
Speaker:It's, um, and I think
Speaker:this is very much, an
Speaker:individual journey for
Speaker:everyone who's going
Speaker:through a challenging time.
Speaker:If it's going through
Speaker:an administration or a,
Speaker:relationship breakup or,
Speaker:Losing a job or, you know,
Speaker:get sick or whatever, whatever
Speaker:that is for each person.
Speaker:so it's such an
Speaker:individual journey.
Speaker:But for me, it was sad.
Speaker:It was like, I was grieving
Speaker:because for me, Kiki K
Speaker:wasn't just a business.
Speaker:It was a family.
Speaker:Like it was everything
Speaker:that I knew and
Speaker:everything that I had.
Speaker:I put everything
Speaker:in that business.
Speaker:I was never, ever thinking,
Speaker:Oh, this is the business.
Speaker:And this is me.
Speaker:it was a big, not in
Speaker:the middle, then there
Speaker:was all I knew and
Speaker:everything that I had.
Speaker:So it was sad,
Speaker:really, really sad.
Speaker:and also very complicated
Speaker:because we had shareholders,
Speaker:we had obviously loads
Speaker:of employees and COVID
Speaker:was difficult for
Speaker:everyone, let alone.
Speaker:people losing jobs and
Speaker:we lost our business
Speaker:and people losing money.
Speaker:It was a, it was a
Speaker:real challenging time.
Speaker:So definitely a lot of
Speaker:grieving and, um, a lot of
Speaker:thinking, but I decided pretty
Speaker:quickly that I was not going
Speaker:to go down with the business.
Speaker:So.
Speaker:I have a lot of
Speaker:entrepreneurial friends,
Speaker:some of them lost their
Speaker:businesses, and I've seen
Speaker:a lot of people really, you
Speaker:know, go into depression,
Speaker:which is an, probably an
Speaker:easier choice to be honest,
Speaker:because, um, I think, just
Speaker:disappearing for a few
Speaker:years would have been a much
Speaker:easier choice, but I didn't
Speaker:want that cause I, I value
Speaker:life so much and I value,
Speaker:everything that I learned.
Speaker:To share and, so I kind
Speaker:of kept sharing how I
Speaker:went through it while
Speaker:I was going through it.
Speaker:And that was really
Speaker:challenging because I really
Speaker:didn't know, you know, if I
Speaker:was sharing the right thing.
Speaker:I was super conscious
Speaker:of everyone being
Speaker:involved in this.
Speaker:So it was not an
Speaker:easy one, but.
Speaker:But how I really went
Speaker:through it was some really
Speaker:simple things that I do in
Speaker:good times and bad times.
Speaker:One was walking.
Speaker:I walked every single day.
Speaker:So I woke up sometimes
Speaker:not wanting to get out
Speaker:of bed and I woke up
Speaker:sometimes thinking, what
Speaker:am I actually going to do?
Speaker:And.
Speaker:You know, feeling extremely
Speaker:sad and disappointed and angry
Speaker:and all those kind of feelings
Speaker:that we often have when
Speaker:something happens, that is a
Speaker:little bit out of our control.
Speaker:So I every day decided
Speaker:just go for a walk and
Speaker:this is COVID time.
Speaker:So, so I was up early
Speaker:because we were only
Speaker:allowed to, to walk.
Speaker:Uh, I don't know what it was,
Speaker:but I was out so early that no
Speaker:one would ever see me anyway.
Speaker:And I just walked and walked
Speaker:and thought And I always
Speaker:came back from a walk,
Speaker:not always feeling better,
Speaker:but never feeling worse.
Speaker:And most of the time feeling
Speaker:so much better because
Speaker:you're connecting with
Speaker:nature, being out on your
Speaker:own, being with your thought
Speaker:was really, really helpful.
Speaker:Another thing that I did
Speaker:was a lot of journaling.
Speaker:So that wouldn't be a
Speaker:surprise for anyone that
Speaker:knows that I love journaling.
Speaker:And I, I just wrote so
Speaker:much of my thoughts,
Speaker:so much of my, yeah.
Speaker:ideas and everything
Speaker:that just came to mind.
Speaker:So a lot of journaling.
Speaker:I did meditation to kind
Speaker:of still my mind, at least
Speaker:once a day, sometimes twice.
Speaker:And, I also called my best
Speaker:friend every single day.
Speaker:And I was so grateful to have
Speaker:a friend that would actually,
Speaker:listen to the same thing
Speaker:over and over and over again.
Speaker:and I think, you know, if
Speaker:anyone listening and have
Speaker:one friend that is like
Speaker:that, then we are extremely,
Speaker:fortunate because that was
Speaker:really helpful to sometimes
Speaker:just say things loud.
Speaker:I'd often didn't
Speaker:need the solution.
Speaker:I often had that
Speaker:solution within me.
Speaker:And then I started to
Speaker:dream about the new future.
Speaker:I thought.
Speaker:Life is too short and, uh,
Speaker:I already had that dream to
Speaker:inspire 101 million people
Speaker:to write down three dreams.
Speaker:So I got on quickly to put
Speaker:an online, um, my book was
Speaker:already out, but I put that on
Speaker:an online course and I started
Speaker:to help other people, creating
Speaker:their dream life and then
Speaker:probably about, uh, what is it
Speaker:now, a year and a half ago, I
Speaker:started my coaching program.
Speaker:I also started my book
Speaker:club because I got so
Speaker:excited about, other people
Speaker:sharing the, um, interest
Speaker:of personal growth and
Speaker:personal development.
Speaker:So, started a kind of
Speaker:a community book club
Speaker:that anyone can join.
Speaker:Cause I had a private
Speaker:one and I spoke a lot
Speaker:about that on my podcast.
Speaker:And then I always got
Speaker:emails, can I join?
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Because that was my
Speaker:friends, I then decided
Speaker:that anyone can join from
Speaker:anywhere in the world.
Speaker:So that's how I
Speaker:got through it.
Speaker:And you know what, I am
Speaker:actually much happier now
Speaker:in terms of, I love my new
Speaker:business more than I love
Speaker:my first business, which is
Speaker:kind of hard to even imagine
Speaker:that that is the case because
Speaker:I love my first business.
Speaker:So much.
Speaker:And the, amazing thing now
Speaker:is that the new business
Speaker:gives me whole different
Speaker:level of freedom in terms.
Speaker:I can work from anywhere.
Speaker:I have a smaller team and
Speaker:I made a decision to only
Speaker:work with nice people.
Speaker:and, uh, that's not always
Speaker:easy when you have a big
Speaker:business, cause you're not
Speaker:always part of recruiting.
Speaker:And now I have a dream team
Speaker:and these are people that
Speaker:I love spending time with.
Speaker:And I think that's
Speaker:so important as well.
Speaker:It's so exciting that you're
Speaker:now living your dream life,
Speaker:but obviously I've heard
Speaker:you say before, a dream life
Speaker:doesn't mean a perfect life.
Speaker:So what are some daily
Speaker:challenges that you have
Speaker:to overcome or you face?
Speaker:I have challenges every day.
Speaker:And it's funny because I just,
Speaker:uh, I just, a few days ago,
Speaker:I felt extremely overwhelmed.
Speaker:I'm doing a little bit too
Speaker:many things for the size of
Speaker:our team and the, and the
Speaker:size of my, my capability.
Speaker:But I have this saying, and I
Speaker:think it's just specifically,
Speaker:Important in a startup is
Speaker:like you take a big bite
Speaker:and you chew like hell.
Speaker:And that's what I'm doing.
Speaker:And, I think you have to do
Speaker:that and It's not something
Speaker:you do every season.
Speaker:It's a season.
Speaker:Sometimes when you do a
Speaker:startup where you just
Speaker:have to put everything
Speaker:you've got into it.
Speaker:And I decided this
Speaker:year, I have two dreams
Speaker:that are really big.
Speaker:One is to 10X my health and
Speaker:one is to 10X my business.
Speaker:Andy.
Speaker:When I woke up the other
Speaker:day, I was like, I didn't
Speaker:ever know where to start.
Speaker:I was so overwhelmed.
Speaker:And this is when journaling
Speaker:comes in so handy.
Speaker:And I actually, um, I spoke
Speaker:to my friend after I said,
Speaker:Oh, I woke up feeling so
Speaker:overwhelmed and absolutely
Speaker:thinking, I don't know
Speaker:if I can fit it all in.
Speaker:And then I did my exercise
Speaker:and I do like an exercise
Speaker:That I'm actually going to
Speaker:do, in the coaching program,
Speaker:but I also am going to do
Speaker:it as a freestanding for
Speaker:people who are not part of
Speaker:the coaching program, where
Speaker:I just kind of brainstorm
Speaker:everything in categories
Speaker:and I empty my head, so,
Speaker:powerful and seems so simple,
Speaker:but incredibly helpful.
Speaker:So, so it's difficult to,
Speaker:um, fit everything in with
Speaker:family, with Business and
Speaker:health, and I'm also a person
Speaker:who needs a lot of time alone.
Speaker:I'm an introvert, so I, my
Speaker:people might not realize
Speaker:that because I'm out and
Speaker:about a lot and I do a lot
Speaker:of public speaking now.
Speaker:But I need a lot of space.
Speaker:So I go for my walks
Speaker:every morning and I
Speaker:spend time in nature.
Speaker:I have my coffee for 10
Speaker:minutes, uh, we're in
Speaker:silence and just generate
Speaker:all that energy then to
Speaker:be able to cope with all
Speaker:the things, that I do.
Speaker:But challenges is part of.
Speaker:Everyone's life,
Speaker:dream life or not.
Speaker:And it's just part of
Speaker:life and we just have to
Speaker:take them as they come.
Speaker:And there are a lot of silver
Speaker:linings in our challenges.
Speaker:If we learn from them, not
Speaker:specifically when we go
Speaker:through them, but definitely
Speaker:if we can reflect and review
Speaker:our week and our month and
Speaker:our quarters and our years.
Speaker:We often see that, uh,
Speaker:looking back, it's like, Oh,
Speaker:actually, because of that
Speaker:challenge, I created this,
Speaker:or because of that challenge,
Speaker:I had to change this.
Speaker:I think as an entrepreneur,
Speaker:you have to kind of develop
Speaker:because there are always
Speaker:things that do not go to
Speaker:plan and there's always
Speaker:challenges in a business.
Speaker:And, uh, and, uh, if you just
Speaker:learn, it's not fun when you
Speaker:go through them, but if you
Speaker:can just have this attitude
Speaker:that, it's just another
Speaker:challenge and hopefully I'll
Speaker:learn something from it.
Speaker:And, and even though in the
Speaker:most horrific challenges, like
Speaker:losing my business, I've been
Speaker:so many silver linings and so
Speaker:much I learned, and I think
Speaker:I'm a, I can share so much
Speaker:more cause I, I was always
Speaker:sharing my success stories
Speaker:and now I can share, and I
Speaker:can sometimes got criticized
Speaker:for everything was so perfect,
Speaker:which of course it never is.
Speaker:But maybe when you, when
Speaker:you are put in media
Speaker:as a success story.
Speaker:it's kind of hard sometimes
Speaker:to, uh, share the hard times
Speaker:because that's not always what
Speaker:media wants to put out there.
Speaker:So, um, for me, I
Speaker:now feel like I'm, I
Speaker:have more to share.
Speaker:I'm now, doing a lot of public
Speaker:speaking and I'm sharing
Speaker:my up and down journey.
Speaker:I think that's so
Speaker:generous and it's such a
Speaker:wonderful story to hear.
Speaker:What guidance would you give
Speaker:people whom have started
Speaker:their life or their career
Speaker:in a certain direction,
Speaker:but realize now this isn't
Speaker:where they want to be.
Speaker:This isn't the way they
Speaker:had hoped, or it's not
Speaker:following their dreams.
Speaker:What should they do?
Speaker:I think spend an hour and some
Speaker:people say, I don't have an
Speaker:hour, but we all have an hour.
Speaker:if it's important to us,
Speaker:on the weekend, up early or
Speaker:whatever, time feels right.
Speaker:But I think it's important
Speaker:to have that space, ideally
Speaker:a little bit more than an
Speaker:hour, and then just take a
Speaker:journal and a pen and ask
Speaker:yourself, What would I do?
Speaker:if I knew I couldn't fail?
Speaker:What comes up for us?
Speaker:And, I share this many
Speaker:times with you, Jackie,
Speaker:and, uh, the Dream Love
Speaker:community, but every time
Speaker:I ask myself that question,
Speaker:there's always something
Speaker:that's lying underneath.
Speaker:It might be feeling a little
Speaker:bit uncomfortable or a
Speaker:little bit of, what, you
Speaker:know, it's not really right
Speaker:timing or it's not really,
Speaker:I don't think I can do it.
Speaker:You know, one of
Speaker:them was my podcast.
Speaker:And I think you might've felt
Speaker:the same with your podcast.
Speaker:when we want to do something.
Speaker:and we haven't done it before.
Speaker:It feels a little bit
Speaker:uncomfortable, but
Speaker:my advice then is to
Speaker:write it down anyway.
Speaker:Don't have to do anything
Speaker:the first hour where
Speaker:you just write, just let
Speaker:yourself write down anything.
Speaker:So what would you do if
Speaker:you knew you couldn't fail?
Speaker:If you had all the time
Speaker:and the money and the
Speaker:resources and the skills
Speaker:to do whatever you want.
Speaker:So a lot of us actually
Speaker:don't write down things
Speaker:because we're like, For
Speaker:you, for example, you've
Speaker:been in the corporate
Speaker:world your whole life.
Speaker:And when you did some
Speaker:dreaming, starting your own
Speaker:business, that would have felt
Speaker:like, Oh, it's not really,
Speaker:you know, I'm making enough
Speaker:money to support family, or
Speaker:I, I am very good at this.
Speaker:So maybe I shouldn't do this.
Speaker:There's all these things
Speaker:coming up, but just write
Speaker:it down anyway, because you
Speaker:don't have to do anything.
Speaker:You can just put it on
Speaker:paper and see, and go
Speaker:back later on and see.
Speaker:Is there something here
Speaker:that I want to actually do?
Speaker:And also asking yourself
Speaker:if you had all the
Speaker:health and energy.
Speaker:So a lot of us feel like we
Speaker:are so full that there's not
Speaker:room for one more thing to do.
Speaker:But write it down anyway,
Speaker:because sometimes we
Speaker:just have to shift a
Speaker:little bit and change.
Speaker:And, um, are truly believe
Speaker:we can do anything.
Speaker:Anything we put our mind to,
Speaker:but not everything at once.
Speaker:And I think that's often
Speaker:when we do that dreaming
Speaker:exercise, what would I do
Speaker:if I knew I couldn't fail?
Speaker:If I had all the money, the
Speaker:resources, the knowledge,
Speaker:and the skills to do whatever
Speaker:I want and the energy and
Speaker:the help, you might write
Speaker:down so many things and then
Speaker:you'd be like, Oh, that's
Speaker:easy, it's not possible.
Speaker:But you then have to
Speaker:then start thinking, if
Speaker:I change one thing, what
Speaker:would I like to do the most
Speaker:and what would have the
Speaker:most impact in my life?
Speaker:And, and creating
Speaker:a dream life is not
Speaker:something that you just.
Speaker:write down once and it's done
Speaker:and you just follow it because
Speaker:we change and we evolve
Speaker:and there's so many things.
Speaker:And every time I do this
Speaker:exercise myself and I've done
Speaker:this so many times, you would
Speaker:think that everything would
Speaker:have been perfect for me,
Speaker:but I change all the time.
Speaker:And I, challenge myself all
Speaker:the time and as I evolve and
Speaker:as we age, and as we meet new
Speaker:people and, we did try one
Speaker:thing and be like, Oh, this
Speaker:is actually really exciting,
Speaker:maybe I should go a little
Speaker:bit deeper here, or maybe
Speaker:thinking actually that wasn't
Speaker:as good as I thought it would
Speaker:be, or it's not the direction.
Speaker:So it's really just about
Speaker:starting to write down
Speaker:things, that you want.
Speaker:And it's really important
Speaker:that there are dreams that
Speaker:connect with your heart.
Speaker:not with your partners or your
Speaker:parents or the teacher, or
Speaker:even social media followers.
Speaker:Sometimes you feel
Speaker:like, Oh gosh, I'm
Speaker:so good at one thing.
Speaker:If I now want to change,
Speaker:maybe they are not the
Speaker:right, audience for me.
Speaker:So you just have to really
Speaker:not worry about that to
Speaker:start with, because all
Speaker:those things are fixable.
Speaker:It's just.
Speaker:Not all at once and not all
Speaker:of the dreams all at once.
Speaker:So start writing it down
Speaker:and start thinking about it.
Speaker:And when you start doing
Speaker:this, when you go for your
Speaker:walk, and if you're able to
Speaker:create a morning ritual or
Speaker:create something where you
Speaker:have a bit of space to think
Speaker:and work on your dream life,
Speaker:Ideally every single day,
Speaker:even if it's just 10 minutes
Speaker:with your coffee or on your
Speaker:commute, or when you're
Speaker:driving somewhere or waiting
Speaker:for someone thinking, if I
Speaker:could create my dream life,
Speaker:what would I actually want
Speaker:to do if no one else cared?
Speaker:And if I wasn't worried about
Speaker:what other people thought,
Speaker:or if I was making enough
Speaker:money in this to start
Speaker:with or whatever, whatever
Speaker:comes to mind, everyone
Speaker:is different in that case.
Speaker:So, just start with,
Speaker:uh, working out what
Speaker:is important to you.
Speaker:And you'll come up with
Speaker:lots of things that you
Speaker:perhaps have not thought of,
Speaker:or maybe been underneath a
Speaker:little too scared to come
Speaker:up with those answers.
Speaker:I definitely surprised myself
Speaker:when I did the exercise.
Speaker:That's for sure.
Speaker:So for those of us who have
Speaker:worked out our dreams, but
Speaker:are working a full time job,
Speaker:or are, you know, full time
Speaker:parent, what's your advice
Speaker:for some of our balanced
Speaker:community to really start that
Speaker:transition to dreaming and
Speaker:to achieving their dreams?
Speaker:yeah.
Speaker:So all of us, as we, everyone
Speaker:knows who's listening,
Speaker:have 24 hours a day.
Speaker:So we can't change that.
Speaker:So we need to work out
Speaker:what we're going to
Speaker:fill those hours with.
Speaker:And I think, especially in
Speaker:the beginning, you can't, you
Speaker:know, all of a sudden say,
Speaker:I'm going to quit my job and
Speaker:I'm going to start my own
Speaker:business because it takes a
Speaker:bit of time to make money in
Speaker:a business, even now, I have
Speaker:a second business and I've
Speaker:done my own business for,
Speaker:Probably close to 30 years.
Speaker:and it takes time, even
Speaker:in my second business
Speaker:taken much longer than
Speaker:I actually thought.
Speaker:So it's just really important
Speaker:that we, put together
Speaker:a little bit of a plan.
Speaker:And, I have, um, a
Speaker:bit of a formula.
Speaker:So I, plan out my year.
Speaker:So I always focus on top three
Speaker:dreams or goals, whatever
Speaker:you want to call them.
Speaker:It can be goals or
Speaker:dreams, whatever.
Speaker:And then.
Speaker:I, plan out the year in terms
Speaker:of what's important to me.
Speaker:What do I have to do?
Speaker:If I have a family, they
Speaker:need to fit in there.
Speaker:If I have a job that needs
Speaker:to fit in there, all the
Speaker:things that are important.
Speaker:And then you look at, okay,
Speaker:well, if I'm going to make
Speaker:these three dreams happen,
Speaker:where can I fit that in?
Speaker:So for example, if you
Speaker:start your own business
Speaker:and you're still working in
Speaker:a big corporate job, that
Speaker:takes most of your time.
Speaker:during the week, maybe you
Speaker:can, go to bed a little bit
Speaker:earlier on a Friday night,
Speaker:get up a little bit earlier
Speaker:before everyone else, if
Speaker:you have children and maybe
Speaker:work one hour in the morning
Speaker:on a Saturday morning.
Speaker:So I do my, uh, I'm
Speaker:studying health.
Speaker:So I do that on
Speaker:Saturday mornings.
Speaker:So I'm studying, I'm doing
Speaker:a course in longevity just
Speaker:for my own sake, because
Speaker:I'm going to 10X my health.
Speaker:I don't really have time
Speaker:for that at the moment.
Speaker:It's not really what
Speaker:I should be doing,
Speaker:but I really want to.
Speaker:So I get up a little
Speaker:bit earlier on Saturday
Speaker:morning and I fit that in.
Speaker:And when you start your own
Speaker:business, you probably need
Speaker:to decide what are you not
Speaker:going to do because Small
Speaker:business takes a lot of time
Speaker:and takes, you don't have
Speaker:the team as you would have in
Speaker:the corporate role, perhaps.
Speaker:And you don't have the
Speaker:knowledge, Well, I didn't
Speaker:have it because I had a, big
Speaker:team in my other business
Speaker:and they were expert in
Speaker:all their different roles.
Speaker:And I was not expert
Speaker:in anything in the
Speaker:end, I felt, perhaps.
Speaker:Making products, but I have
Speaker:to learn so many things.
Speaker:So I spend a lot of time,
Speaker:instead of doing things that
Speaker:perhaps I would have done in
Speaker:the past, socializing, going
Speaker:out for dinners, I spend a lot
Speaker:of time walking and learning.
Speaker:So I listen to podcasts,
Speaker:listen to audio books, doing
Speaker:courses to kind of learn.
Speaker:So when we have a busy role.
Speaker:Family, friends, whatever
Speaker:is important to us.
Speaker:Health is really important.
Speaker:Then you just have to
Speaker:take some things away.
Speaker:And for me, that's been
Speaker:the social part of my life.
Speaker:So I'm not as social anymore.
Speaker:I don't go to as many events.
Speaker:I get invited to a lot
Speaker:of exciting things, but
Speaker:I always think is more
Speaker:important and to me, my new
Speaker:business is more important
Speaker:than anything, because
Speaker:that's what will support
Speaker:my dream life long term.
Speaker:So even though there will be
Speaker:other things that I perhaps
Speaker:would like to have part of
Speaker:my dream life, I know that
Speaker:that will come in the future.
Speaker:If I focus on my business
Speaker:now, and I think this is also
Speaker:really relevant for anyone
Speaker:who's not having the perfect
Speaker:health or the enough energy.
Speaker:If you fix that first,
Speaker:you will have so much more
Speaker:energy to do so much more.
Speaker:So for example, by me doing
Speaker:my morning ritual with my
Speaker:meditation, my journaling
Speaker:and my walk or my exercise.
Speaker:It gives me so much
Speaker:more energy to then be
Speaker:able to do more things.
Speaker:And it's funny because
Speaker:sometimes I'm thinking, how
Speaker:do I actually fit it all in?
Speaker:And, uh, it has to do with
Speaker:planning, but also focusing
Speaker:so much on my health.
Speaker:So I have the energy
Speaker:and the excitement.
Speaker:And also when you do
Speaker:fun things like I, I.
Speaker:One of my jobs is to read
Speaker:books because I have a book
Speaker:club and I always laugh and
Speaker:thinking I can't believe that
Speaker:I have to write, read books.
Speaker:And then I work with lots
Speaker:of publishers and they
Speaker:send me books because they
Speaker:often want their authors
Speaker:to come on my podcast.
Speaker:And, and I just think,
Speaker:gosh, lucky me, on a Friday
Speaker:night, I have to go to bed
Speaker:early and read for a couple
Speaker:of hours and that's when.
Speaker:It's so exciting when
Speaker:you're passionate and
Speaker:your purpose and your
Speaker:business are all aligned.
Speaker:And you know, Jackie, I, um,
Speaker:on New Year's day, I have
Speaker:a free workshop every year.
Speaker:And all my friends is like,
Speaker:why do you have that at
Speaker:10 AM when you might go to
Speaker:bed at 2 AM or whatever,
Speaker:if, if I'm going to a.
Speaker:party and, um, I don't
Speaker:because I go to bed as soon
Speaker:as midnight is over, but,
Speaker:uh, I think it's so amazing
Speaker:that you want to get up
Speaker:on New Year's day to do
Speaker:something you love doing.
Speaker:And if that is your
Speaker:business and your purpose,
Speaker:then I think you're in
Speaker:the most amazing space.
Speaker:year because 2024 is
Speaker:going to be our best year.
Speaker:And I think 2024 is just,
Speaker:astrologically such a
Speaker:good year for people to
Speaker:really dream and make
Speaker:changes in their lives.
Speaker:For anyone else who's really
Speaker:interested in working with
Speaker:you and what you've got to
Speaker:offer, where should they head?
Speaker:there's a few
Speaker:different options.
Speaker:Uh, and first it's
Speaker:been so amazing to
Speaker:see what you're doing.
Speaker:And, and I think this is
Speaker:when you find your purpose
Speaker:and you see when you're, are
Speaker:able to support people to
Speaker:do what they love, there's
Speaker:just nothing more rewarding,
Speaker:like it's just, I could,
Speaker:listen to that all day long.
Speaker:And I always have people
Speaker:coming up and say, Oh,
Speaker:I'm sure you hear this
Speaker:all the time, Ross SAC.
Speaker:it never gets old for me.
Speaker:I love hearing it because
Speaker:it's so inspiring and also
Speaker:so, great to hear that people
Speaker:are able to change because
Speaker:I know how hard that is.
Speaker:So my, tip for anyone who
Speaker:wants to be part of the dream
Speaker:love community first is to
Speaker:just, uh, Start on your own
Speaker:if you want to, but if you
Speaker:need some support, I've got
Speaker:a coaching program that is a
Speaker:monthly subscription where you
Speaker:can join to get some support.
Speaker:You also get access to my, uh,
Speaker:your dream life starts here,
Speaker:which is my book, but also
Speaker:as a, now a online course.
Speaker:And I also have a habit
Speaker:club where I inspire
Speaker:people to choose a habit.
Speaker:Once a month and you just
Speaker:try something new and see
Speaker:if you can make it stick and
Speaker:see if it's right for you.
Speaker:And then I also of course
Speaker:have my book club, which
Speaker:is called grow and people
Speaker:can join us and, um, read
Speaker:one book a month where
Speaker:we discuss it every week.
Speaker:I think it's just
Speaker:Such a beautiful
Speaker:community to be part of.
Speaker:So, and also I share tips
Speaker:and ideas daily on Instagram.
Speaker:That's probably where
Speaker:I'm most active and it's
Speaker:just, uh, my handle is
Speaker:just Kristina dream life.
Speaker:Oh, that's brilliant.
Speaker:Oh, look, I encourage everyone
Speaker:that's interested to really
Speaker:follow you and see what they
Speaker:can do to help themselves.
Speaker:So the key takeaways
Speaker:from today, write down
Speaker:what you want on paper,
Speaker:get it out of your head.
Speaker:It's a journey and it
Speaker:doesn't happen overnight.
Speaker:Following your dreams
Speaker:can be hard, but it's a
Speaker:choice that's worth it.
Speaker:And the final takeaway, take
Speaker:a big bite and chew like hell.
Speaker:and can I add one more cause
Speaker:I was, um, I'm just about
Speaker:to do a talk in a couple
Speaker:of weeks that is a little
Speaker:bit different than I was
Speaker:thinking on my walk today.
Speaker:It's for, for business owners.
Speaker:And, um, one thing that
Speaker:I think really made, The
Speaker:first business work in the
Speaker:beginning, because I don't
Speaker:know what the statistics are
Speaker:now, but a lot of failure
Speaker:in the first five years.
Speaker:And why I think we were not
Speaker:part of that statistics isn't
Speaker:because we were had an amazing
Speaker:product or amazing business.
Speaker:you do need to have an
Speaker:amazing products and have
Speaker:an amazing business to
Speaker:be able to be part of a
Speaker:long, sustainable business.
Speaker:But what I think.
Speaker:Made us different.
Speaker:And I think most
Speaker:small businesses who
Speaker:succeed, success is
Speaker:don't say no, say how.
Speaker:Cause you get so many
Speaker:no's and you get those
Speaker:from your own people.
Speaker:You get it for yourself.
Speaker:And then instead of taking
Speaker:no as an answer, you say,
Speaker:Don't say no, say how.
Speaker:So you might not get the
Speaker:right answer that you want,
Speaker:but then you, then you
Speaker:don't just take that answer.
Speaker:You'd be like, okay, how
Speaker:can I make it different?
Speaker:How can I go around this?
Speaker:How can I make it happen?
Speaker:And I think, that's really
Speaker:what a small business need
Speaker:to think about all the time.
Speaker:And also when you work
Speaker:for another business and
Speaker:you want to follow your
Speaker:purpose, because it the
Speaker:plan never goes like this.
Speaker:It's always up and down.
Speaker:And I think if you have
Speaker:that mentality, don't
Speaker:say no, say how, then.
Speaker:You always find a way.
Speaker:And I think that's so
Speaker:important when you're
Speaker:looking for your purpose,
Speaker:but also if you are
Speaker:starting your own business.
Speaker:So I think that should
Speaker:be added at the end.
Speaker:We are going to add that.
Speaker:Don't say no, say how.
Speaker:Oh, Kristina, thank you so
Speaker:much for joining us today.
Speaker:You're an inspiration and
Speaker:it's so fantastic to have
Speaker:someone that guides and
Speaker:leads us all to wanting to
Speaker:achieve more in our lives.
Speaker:Thank you so much for having
Speaker:me and well done you for
Speaker:starting your podcast, cause
Speaker:I know that was one of your
Speaker:dreams and it's so inspiring
Speaker:to see what you're doing.

Speaker:ideal, uh, coaching person.
Speaker:And so, uh, I have.
Speaker:Enjoyed it so much and I'm
Speaker:super excited to continue
Speaker:following your journey.
Speaker:So thank you so
Speaker:much for having me.
Speaker:And I'm super excited
Speaker:to follow these podcasts
Speaker:and all your amazing
Speaker:guests going forward.
Speaker:Amazing.
Speaker:Thank you.
