Ether | The Last Element for Better Health

In this week's Wellness Wednesday episode, Evan covers the 5th and last of the elements that create your health and wellness. Ether is the most abstract of all the elements but is what ties them all together. Ether is commonly referred to as space and can be tied to not only the space around us, but also the space in our body. The Ether element deals with both community and solitude, meditation and connection, internal and external.

Learn all about the Ether element in this episode to tie all of the elements together and get on your way to living at peak performance and enjoy your best life.

Do everything with good intentions and connect to your elements.

Evan:

Hey, what's going on, everybody.

Evan:

Welcome back to the Elemental Evan Show.

Evan:

Thank you all so much for tuning in on this wellness Wednesday, you already know

Evan:

that these wellness, Wednesday episodes are full length episodes and this one.

Evan:

I'm really happy to produce and share with all of you, because it is going

Evan:

to tie in all of the five elements.

Evan:

It is the fifth element ether.

Evan:

When I'm talking about elements here, I'm talking about the five

Evan:

elements that make up your health.

Evan:

So I have tied our health to each one of these elements.

Evan:

They each represent a different aspect of your health and ether is

Evan:

going to be a very abstract one in a lot of ways, but nonetheless, it

Evan:

is very important for our health and kind of ties everything together.

Evan:

These are the five elements that I actually use in my seven

Evan:

day elemental health reset.

Evan:

That is just kind of a program.

Evan:

Where you can go ahead and reconnect to the elements and

Evan:

reconnect with your health.

Evan:

It really helps if you've kind of not really been living your best life.

Evan:

Maybe you've been out partying a little bit too much, or just, you know,

Evan:

really kind of like not in your cycles.

Evan:

And this is a great way to get back on track.

Evan:

So I'm covering in depth, all five of these elements here on the podcast.

Evan:

And today, as I've already stated is going to be on the element of ether.

Evan:

So obviously ether is a little bit more out there for people who have never heard.

Evan:

Uh, the first four elements.

Evan:

Earth water, fire, and air.

Evan:

They're a little bit more straightforward, obviously.

Evan:

But ether.

Evan:

Is kind of the background and the structure for all of these elements.

Evan:

It is literally the origin of all of the elements.

Evan:

So to give you a.

Evan:

Very generic definition of what ether is.

Evan:

It is the material that fills the region of the universe

Evan:

beyond the terrestrial sphere.

Evan:

Okay.

Evan:

That sounds probably like a lot of mumbo-jumbo to a

Evan:

lot of you, but nonetheless,

Evan:

Uh, ether element is also referred to as a Akasha in Sanskrit for all of you

Evan:

yogis who are into yogic philosophy, you've probably already heard of Uh,

Evan:

but nonetheless it is also used in yoga.

Evan:

And it is referred to as both everything and nothing at the same

Evan:

A little bit abstract still.

Evan:

I understand.

Evan:

We're going to keep moving on.

Evan:

You'll you'll catch on.

Evan:

No worries.

Evan:

If you're not there already.

Evan:

Ether is in very simple terms, the space.

Evan:

So it's space around you it's space within you.

Evan:

It is also the element that gives, gives life to all other elements.

Evan:

Okay.

Evan:

It is the.

Evan:

Essentially the birthplace of everything, right?

Evan:

It is the quantum field.

Evan:

It is the place where all possibility is, is.

Evan:

Possible.

Evan:

Right.

Evan:

Uh, but really it is, it is the area.

Evan:

In which everything can come from, right.

Evan:

It is pure potential, pure potentiality, and it is the space both outside

Evan:

of you and the space within you.

Evan:

Now, what does the ether element represent in terms of health?

Evan:

Well, I like to pair it with a few different things and, uh, being that

Evan:

it is both everything and nothing at the same time, it is going to be, uh,

Evan:

almost a little Of not conflicting, but opposite, uh, health practices.

Evan:

So for example, I like to tie ether with meditation.

Evan:

I also like to tie it with a lone time spent in contemplation, which

Evan:

is not necessarily meditation, but can also obviously fit that realm.

Evan:

It is community.

Evan:

So now we're going away from being separate.

Evan:

We're also going to being tied into a community.

Evan:

It is connection with your community and feel everything around you actually.

Evan:

Uh, stillness.

Evan:

The con, uh, the connector of all elements and mental health and wellness.

Evan:

So, those are kind of the aspects of health that ether represents.

Evan:

And if those don't sound like major parts of your health, then please bear with

Evan:

me because they are absolutely crucial, especially the community portion of that.

Evan:

So.

Evan:

How to connect with the ether element.

Evan:

Since ether can be viewed as space, both outside and inside of the body.

Evan:

You can think of ether as being all throughout the

Evan:

body and all around the body.

Evan:

Okay.

Evan:

Obviously, if you think of, you know, down at the atomic level,

Evan:

atoms are a majority space, right?

Evan:

So your body, even though it is a very physical.

Evan:

You know thing, and you cannot pass through it.

Evan:

A lot of your body is actually just made up of space.

Evan:

So ether is not only outside of us, but also within us.

Evan:

And we can also think of cavities in our body, our lungs, our throat, our

Evan:

nasal concha, all of these are areas that have ether, essentially space.

Evan:

So being that ether is all throughout us.

Evan:

And also outside of us, a few practices that you can do to

Evan:

connect to ether, or at least the.

Evan:

I would say my favorite one to do is going to be doing a mindfulness meditation in

Evan:

which you begin to become aware of the different parts of your body and the

Evan:

space around that part of your body.

Evan:

If you aren't really fully there, let me explain a little bit deeper.

Evan:

So I enjoy to actually do this personally with my shock rose, during meditations

Evan:

to bring awareness to not only those areas of my body, but also to become

Evan:

more present and deeper connected into my meditation by simply breathing in to

Evan:

that specific chakra, or like, let's say.

Evan:

Um, you're even just using a foot, like breathing into the foot, like

Evan:

bringing full awareness to the foot.

Evan:

Okay.

Evan:

So now you, you, you can literally imagine, okay.

Evan:

Bring full awareness sensation into my foot, right?

Evan:

Like you're really focusing almost unlike.

Evan:

Everything your foot is feeling and touching.

Evan:

Then I exhale and I would breathe in again.

Evan:

And this time I would examine the space around my foot.

Evan:

Really try to feel what's the temperature like what's Is there a wind around You

Evan:

know, and, and really becoming aware of this space around that part of your body.

Evan:

As I said, I do this with my chakras.

Evan:

So technically I'm mainly feeling it along my spine and my torso up to my head.

Evan:

Uh, but it is a really, really great way of becoming very present in not only

Evan:

your meditation, but also just in life.

Evan:

And it can really get you into a very, not altered state, but very beautiful

Evan:

state in which you're just very present.

Evan:

It's like the best way I can explain it, honestly, without

Evan:

having you just experience it.

Evan:

So.

Evan:

You can also use practices that utilize the throat such as humming or singing

Evan:

since the throat chakra is actually connected to the element of ether.

Evan:

You can either sing or do one of my favorite breath work practices

Evan:

in which you hum on the exhale.

Evan:

So for those of you who have never tried that, I highly

Evan:

encourage you to either just.

Evan:

You know, try it on your own.

Evan:

Uh, you can get my breathwork course.

Evan:

It's in there as well.

Evan:

And uh, if you do this, do it when you are ready to relax.

Evan:

Okay.

Evan:

This is going to be very stimulating on the parasympathetic nervous

Evan:

system, which is going to make you into a state You know, rest

Evan:

and relaxation, rest and digest.

Evan:

So if you are, you know, very worked up after a long day of work, instead

Evan:

of going and getting a little, um, little nightcap for the evening.

Evan:

Go ahead and give this a try.

Evan:

Literally, just go sit down.

Evan:

Take deep breaths in through your nose.

Evan:

And let's say you inhale to the count of five and on your exhale.

Evan:

I want you to exhale to the count of maybe 10 or 15.

Evan:

So we're doubling to tripling the length of our exhale.

Evan:

And while you're excelling.

Evan:

Keep your mouth closed, but press your tongue up to the roof of

Evan:

your mouth and on the exhale.

Evan:

Hum out of your nose.

Evan:

So I'm sorry if this sounds weird, but I'm going to give a little example on here.

Evan:

So it would basically sound like.

Evan:

Hmm, and you really want to feel that.

Evan:

Hum really vibrating in the roof of your mouth and even

Evan:

almost in your nasal cavity.

Evan:

When you do that, it's really going to relax the body.

Evan:

If you do this for, I don't know, let's say like 10 breaths.

Evan:

This is really, really going to help stimulate that parasympathetic

Evan:

nervous system and help you connect to the ether because you're connecting

Evan:

to that space inside of you.

Evan:

You're feeling this vibration going on in the open areas of your body.

Evan:

So that is two ways you can connect to ether.

Evan:

Uh, since ether is essentially the thing that binds everyone

Evan:

in everything together.

Evan:

I also like to include community in the ether element.

Evan:

So as much as we would like to be completely selfish, Uh, sufficient,

Evan:

uh, which I definitely would like to be personally, uh, we really rely

Evan:

heavily on one another for many things.

Evan:

And I know that's a little bit hard to accept sometimes.

Evan:

Uh, but it is true.

Evan:

We really do rely on one another.

Evan:

We rely on a community.

Evan:

So when we look at health and longevity,

Evan:

A really common theme that we find is truly community people who have good

Evan:

relationships with people and they can turn to them in times of need or

Evan:

simply join in for a dinner once a week.

Evan:

Uh, this is absolutely crucial to your health.

Evan:

Okay.

Evan:

We look at these blue zones.

Evan:

And one of the major contributing factors that we see or a common theme

Evan:

at least is definitely their sense of community at a super, super strong.

Evan:

So do not take your community for granted.

Evan:

It can literally add years to your life.

Evan:

So the act of connecting with others.

Evan:

And having a strong sense of community is absolutely crucial to your health.

Evan:

So take a little time out of your day, your week, whatever it may be

Evan:

and dedicate it to connecting with your friends, family, and loved ones.

Evan:

And you should walk away feeling refreshed and energized from the good

Evan:

connections and energy you have with them.

Evan:

Now, if you are not walking away from the.

Evan:

You know, Conversations that you're having with them feeling energized, then that's

Evan:

probably for a whole nother conversation, but you need to reevaluate those.

Evan:

Uh, relationships and maybe work on them, make them a little bit better.

Evan:

I'm not really sure.

Evan:

Uh, I would have to obviously see the exact.

Evan:

Um, issues going on there, but if you walk away feeling energized, you know,

Evan:

you have some good connections there and that is really benefiting your life.

Evan:

Lastly.

Evan:

Since ether has a strong connection with something bigger than us.

Evan:

I also like to create a spiritual practice around connecting to the ether element.

Evan:

This can take form in any organized religion.

Evan:

So if that's, you know, something you believe in is an organized

Evan:

religion and you follow that, then absolutely go for it.

Evan:

Or it can take form in simply realizing that life is so much bigger and more grand

Evan:

than you or I, and find gratitude in your heart that through a miraculous series of

Evan:

events from the creation of the universe.

Evan:

To life on earth being possible.

Evan:

And then finally you being the one of, you know, I don't know how many, probably

Evan:

like thousands or millions of sperm.

Evan:

You made it to your mother's egg and you are now here

Evan:

living, breathing, and creating.

Evan:

Okay.

Evan:

It is absolutely insane.

Evan:

You can find gratitude for anything, but if you're lacking in finding

Evan:

gratitude for something, just give gratitude to the fact that you through

Evan:

magical series of events ended up here.

Evan:

That's wild.

Evan:

Gratitude has been proven time and time again, to be incredible for

Evan:

your health and for lowering stress levels and feeling a connection

Evan:

to something greater than you.

Evan:

And in many ways, connecting you to something magical.

Evan:

Which is just simply a beautiful sensation and a great way to feel about life.

Evan:

So once again, really quickly to just recap, if you want to connect

Evan:

to your ether element, you can do mindfulness meditation practices.

Evan:

You can do practices that use the throat.

Evan:

So such as singing humming, like I said, at humming breath work, you

Evan:

can also connect with your community.

Evan:

You can find, uh, you know, a good community to be with and just share

Evan:

some good quality time with them.

Evan:

And.

Evan:

And you can also go ahead and connect to something larger than you.

Evan:

Which is going to be that which binds all of us together.

Evan:

Right.

Evan:

And finding gratitude in that too.

Evan:

Really just not only boost your health, but also boost the health of your mind and

Evan:

allow you to just feel better about life.

Evan:

I mean, who doesn't want to feel better about

Evan:

So, those are the ways you can connect to the ether element.

Evan:

Like I said, this is the fifth and last element that I will be doing

Evan:

in this series on the elements.

Evan:

Uh, I really truly believe that these are the key to unlocking

Evan:

our best health possible.

Evan:

That's obviously why I call this elemental Evan show, but they truly are.

Evan:

They're absolutely crucial to our health and being the best

Evan:

version of ourselves possible.

Evan:

Like I said, if you want to connect to these elements better, go ahead and check

Evan:

out the elemental seven day health reset.

Evan:

I will have that linked in the show notes, but.

Evan:

Nonetheless.

Evan:

It is just, yeah, it's really great to connect to these elements, even

Evan:

if you're not worried about health, but you just want to go connect

Evan:

to the elements by all means.

Evan:

Go do so.

Evan:

Get out in nature, get your feet connected to the earth.

Evan:

Get the sun on your skin.

Evan:

Get the water on you.

Evan:

All that good stuff.
