Wayne Robinson, editor of Print21, and Lindy Hughson, publisher of Print21 and PKN Packaging News, bring us a review and analysis of the major developments, issues and trends emerging in the ANZ print industry during February.

This episode discusses the impacts on the print industry of delays in goods being received from overseas, the increasing price of shipping, and the subsequent need for printers to put their prices up. We then turn to papermaking giant UPM, where the longest paper strike in Finland's history is having an impact on supply for commercial and publishing papers, and on labels.

Next up is a discussion of recent mergers occurring in the industry, the reasons behind them and the likelihood of more in the year ahead. We cover the good news from the offset and outdoor print sectors as they show signs of recovery, and we discuss the rise and rise of digital displays in outdoor media.

The episode then takes a look at some major investments in new equipment, particularly within the packaging print sector. The return of big global and Australian trade shows is on the agenda. We end with a discussion of recent changes in position leaders in the industry, and pay tribute to those no longer with us.
