On February 16th 2021, Pastor James Coates turned himself in to the police. He was arrested "for violating a bail condition to comply with COVID-19 health orders," he was charged with breaching health restrictions, and spent 35 days in jail for refusing to sign a legal undertaking requiring him to stop holding non-compliant services. On March 22nd 2021, Pastor James Coates was released.
