The Brothers Carnival makes a stop at the next town which they find being evacuated due to the oncoming Maleficarian Army. Johannes recognizes the culprits and the two vow to put a stop to the mayhem. Johannes confronts Rufus Maleficarus only to be thrown into a pocket universe devoid of time. He manages to make his way back to reality and stops Rufus.
