SUMMARY:

The way to keep progressing in a walk with God is to seek Him for revelation. A person can come to times which seem to be “dry” or lack a spark, but the important thing is to seek the Lord for a fresh revelation. The Holy Spirit leads into all truth; all you have to do is to ask for it. When we ask, He will reveal to us the next aspect of our relationship with Him.

SHOW NOTES:

  • The Lord relates to us as He did to Peter, when He asked, “who do you say that I am?” When Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” he was revealing the revelation that the Father had given him.

  • A revelation does not come by analyzing and reasoning; it comes from God.

  • The mind of a person can go into reasoning that is not the mind of Christ and can cause us to miss the revelation God is trying to show.

  • The flow of revelation comes after a person lays aside his own understanding and lack of trust in the Lord and totally relies on whatever God might say.

  • Getting a revelation from the Lord is creative; it develops something in your relationship with Him.

QUOTATIONS:

  • There is a personal revelation that we must have to walk in the walk with God and to really reach into a level of really knowing Him.

  • It is a revelation of the Lord that He is with us, that He never leaves us, that He is the one who directs our path.

  • Knowing that you have a relationship with God by revelation is the most important thing that you can have in the day that we are living.

  • If you don't have this, then it's something that you should seek with all your heart.

  • This revelation is Him in us is a secret in our journey with Him, in our walk with Him, in our relationship with Him.

  • When we come together and we all have this revelation of Christ in us, the connection we have creates something greater than you are by yourself.

  • You simply can't walk with the Lord in any effectiveness or any depth at all without a continuing unfolding revelation of Him.

  • To really get the foundation, to really get the real depth of who the Lord is and to stay on track with what the Holy Spirit is speaking, your revelation really needs to come from the Word.

  • Even reading the Word, you have to have a revelation. Otherwise, it's just a book with stories.

  • You have that knowledge by revelation, and every word that you read leaps off the page and ignites our hearts, because it is alive.

REFERENCES:

Matthew 16; 15-17

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

Philippians 4:6

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Proverbs 3: 5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

I Corinthians 8: 2

If anyone supposes that he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know.

Galatians 1:12

For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

TAKE AWAY:

When Jesus ascended to the Father, He said He would send an Advocate to walk with us and to lead us into all the Truth. This is very important in order to keep us pressing in to know the Lord and see what He is doing. The Holy Spirit can help us to have a revelation and take steps to grow in our relationship with the Lord. It's important to get a foundation in His Word and ask Him to make that Word real—to get an unfolding revelation.

Ken:

There is a personal revelation that we must have to walk in this walk with God and to really reach into a level of really knowing Him. What keeps you moving on? What keeps you from being one of those who says, "enough is enough" and goes back into the world? I'll tell you what it is. It's a revelation of the Lord, that He's with us, that He never leaves us, that He's He is the one who directs our path.

He said that when He said He was going to the Father, but He was going to send someone who would be an advocate, one that would walk with us, alongside of us, and lead us into all truth. We're seeing the day approaching that Jesus was talking about. The Day of the Lord, the Day of the Manifestation of the Lord His appearing, is the Parousia. And we know that the presence of the Lord is with us. We know that by Revelation.

Lois:

You got to have a Revelation. What does that really say to you? But it needs to be broken down a little bit sometimes. How the Lord has to be so real to you.

Ken:

Matthew 16, when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, Who do the people say that the Son of Man is?

And they said, some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. He said to them, this is the important part right here, I think that this is what the Lord Jesus says to each one of us. Who do you say that I am? To you! Simon Peter answered and said, You're the Christ, the Son of the living God.

And Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon and Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father who's in heaven. The importance of knowing that you have a relationship with God by revelation. Is the most important thing that you can have in the day that we're living. We're living in the, literally in the end times.

Where all these kind of things are happening. And a lot of people are becoming disheartened and falling away and that's what the Word says. And they will fall away, they'll leave their relationship with God. Why would they do that? I can tell you very frankly, because they have no revelation of who the Lord is to them. This is really the foundation of our walk with God. If you don't have this, then it's something that you should seek with all your heart. God has it for each one of us. This revelation of Him in us is a secret in our journey with Him, in our walk with Him, our relationship with Him.

But it relates perfectly to the whole family. When we come together and we all have this revelation of Christ in us, the connections we have create something greater than you are by yourself.

Dale:

Because we've crossed over from the church age into the kingdom, revelation is how we live. I always thought about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit . At Pentecost was when revelation became available to everybody. And how does God communicate? By revelation.

Ron:

Revelation has to be unfolding. Your walk with God unfolds because you continue to have deeper revelation of the Lord. Without that, you stalemate. I just don't think there's a walk. Or if there is a walk, it's a very, very limited walk with the Lord.

How do you walk with Him? You don't even know Him. Or, you've created some image of Him that is not even Him. You just simply can't walk with the Lord in any effectiveness or any depth at all without a continuing unfolding revelation of Him. And a lot of that, if not all of it, or sure a good portion of it is because of the Word.

I think that's a real key because I think there's a lot of Christians out there that try to mystically connect in, quote, to the Lord. And to a degree, a limited degree, very limited, they can connect in through the Holy Spirit. To really get the foundation, to really get the real depth of who the Lord is, and to stay on track with what the Holy Spirit is speaking - your revelation really needs to come from the Word. That's the foundation. And also, honestly, where are you getting your revelation? It's very important. It's extremely important.

Ken:

your revelation is based on a person, think it over. That's not the truth. The truth is a revelation did not come to Peter by Jesus Christ, it came from the Father.

If our focus is on a leader, man, we missed it a thousand miles. Our focus must be on the leader of leaders, which is Christ Himself. He's the one that speaks the Living Word to our hearts by the Spirit of the Living God, who resides within us. But I think that's something we have to have in this new day.

He's the one that's directing us. He's the one directing our lives, leading us. I think that's what the Word says. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understandings. But in all, always acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. Is there any place in there for a leader to place his name instead of God?

Cindy:

Even reading the Word, you have to have a revelation. Otherwise, it's just a book with stories. And how can you get anything out of a book with stories if you don't have a revelation from Him, from the Holy Spirit, and how it is unfolding in your very life today?

Ken:

You have that knowledge by revelation. And every word that we read, it leaps off the page and ignites our hearts because it's alive.
