Unknown:

Hello, hello and welcome to the Borealis

Unknown:

experience. I'm your host of Aurora and festival. I want to

Unknown:

thank you,

Unknown:

Dion Sanchez for your incredible voicemail that you left me here

Unknown:

on Anchor today, I will post it at the very end of this podcast

Unknown:

episode because it's so deeply touching. And I'm so grateful

Unknown:

for you to

Unknown:

have the courage and just sent me something. And then I want to

Unknown:

thank you Adriana from Lethbridge, my dear friend, she

Unknown:

was the one who requested the guided meditations. And I'm very

Unknown:

happy to send those out there for free and so many people have

Unknown:

been listening to them so far. So thank you, thank you, thank

Unknown:

you, dear friend for

Unknown:

requesting it.

Unknown:

Today, episode number 12. I want to go back to the body, I posted

Unknown:

an episode about how the body is influencing your well being and

Unknown:

you are influencing its well being.

Unknown:

So

Unknown:

what do you have to give to your body? What is What are

Unknown:

essentials? What is your duty as a human being here on planet

Unknown:

Earth.

Unknown:

There's the very obvious things, the water, the food, the air you

Unknown:

breathe in the clothing, and the physical touch. And what I

Unknown:

learned a couple years back because I was always interested

Unknown:

in health, fitness and

Unknown:

eating the right things.

Unknown:

But then I came across Ayurveda.

Unknown:

And there you learn how important it is on how you

Unknown:

consume. How do you consume water food? How do you breathe?

Unknown:

What are you

Unknown:

choosing to wear? And how much quality does physical touch have

Unknown:

in your life? So how do you eat and drink? Do you eat in between

Unknown:

while standing in a rushed way? Is eating just

Unknown:

a thing that has to be done? Because otherwise you struggle

Unknown:

with maybe diabetes or mood swings?

Unknown:

Or is food really deeply nourishing? Is water something

Unknown:

that brings you joy or is staying hydrated? Just another

Unknown:

point on your to do list that has to be done?

Unknown:

Why is it important on how you do it because your nervous

Unknown:

system recognizes your intentions and how you ingest

Unknown:

things.

Unknown:

And this in turn, affects your intestines and your intestines

Unknown:

take in everything you put into your body and turn it into your

Unknown:

body cells.

Unknown:

And they make up your body and the quality of your skin the

Unknown:

quality of

Unknown:

of everything physical that makes you up your bones, your

Unknown:

blood

Unknown:

really everything. So

Unknown:

now let's look at the water intake. Is that just something

Unknown:

that you read in a book and you do it?

Unknown:

Because it has to be done and it's actually super annoying? Or

Unknown:

can you really next time you take your glass of water

Unknown:

maybe look at it even for a moment and know that without

Unknown:

water you wouldn't be on this planet you couldn't go any

Unknown:

longer than a couple of days without water and

Unknown:

put gratefulness and that

Unknown:

maybe ritual now make drinking a ritual. Yeah, like some other

Unknown:

person would appreciate their glass of wine for supper. Look

Unknown:

at the water as something magical something that gives

Unknown:

life and and not just something that has to be chucked down. And

Unknown:

same with food. Prepare your food with love. Sit down, make

Unknown:

time

Unknown:

Time to digest. And then relax and really let your body do the

Unknown:

work. Allow yourself to

Unknown:

really appreciate every little thing that you put into your

Unknown:

body and you will see it will change your whole physical

Unknown:

feeling with yourself over time.

Unknown:

Then it comes to physical touch.

Unknown:

Maybe you're single, maybe you feel lonely. And you think of

Unknown:

physical touches just for people who are in a relationship. No,

Unknown:

it's not the news. How do you shower? Yeah, do you just slap

Unknown:

on the soap, and scrub yourself and then

Unknown:

dry and jump into your clothing?

Unknown:

Or can you actually turn it into a little bit of a self massage

Unknown:

and enjoying your body and being grateful for your body? Yeah,

Unknown:

it's the same thing as drinking, and eating. If we give our body

Unknown:

a little bit more love and care, we do the things a little bit

Unknown:

more with intention, then we can drastically change the way we

Unknown:

feel about ourselves. So next time you drink water, think of

Unknown:

me next time you drink food or have a snack. Think of me next

Unknown:

time you have a shower.

Unknown:

Think about what I said, on how you could maybe afterwards

Unknown:

massage your feet or put oil onto your hands and your arms

Unknown:

and your back. And it will make you feel just five, maybe even

Unknown:

10% better about yourself, I swear.

Unknown:

What about on a mental level? What do you feed through your

Unknown:

eyes into your brain each day? Now, let's all sit down for a

Unknown:

moment. And think about how long and often we are on our phones.

Unknown:

And what do you read there on a regular?

Unknown:

Whatever news that you consume? What are the vibes

Unknown:

that you take in from your surroundings? And your people

Unknown:

that you interact with?

Unknown:

Maybe you read books, maybe you listen to podcasts? How do those

Unknown:

things make you feel? Do they agitate you? Do they make you

Unknown:

feel really calm?

Unknown:

A very dear person in my life, had struggles with insomnia. And

Unknown:

every night, she watches the news and follows what's going on

Unknown:

in the US.

Unknown:

And it's very disruptive, it's very disturbing and creates

Unknown:

anxiety. And of course, for me as an outsider, it's pretty

Unknown:

obvious. And then you can find restful sleep.

Unknown:

So all this to say, Do you consume whatever you want, I'm

Unknown:

not going to tell you all you shouldn't be watching the news

Unknown:

and so your television out. No, just be aware of what you put

Unknown:

into your body into your soul into your mind. Because it is

Unknown:

affecting your health, it is affecting your well being. And

Unknown:

if you have awareness, if you can track down what might be

Unknown:

sucking life energy out of you, then you can control it and be a

Unknown:

master of your health. Because those news

Unknown:

that make you feel like oh, you have an opinion and all you feel

Unknown:

as part of the society. At the same time,

Unknown:

release stress hormones that your body has to deal with. So

Unknown:

your mind has all caught up and excited about consuming that.

Unknown:

But your body is actually limping behind and trying to

Unknown:

balance things out and trying to keep you in check and keep you

Unknown:

balanced. But if you don't allow it, then it becomes sick.

Unknown:

And then let's have a look at your relationships. How

Unknown:

nurturing and positive are the interactions you have with your

Unknown:

people around you? Did you talk in person.

Unknown:

Now during COVID You could come up and say while we are not

Unknown:

supposed to meet it's not allowed

Unknown:

out. But you can talk on the phone or you can meet up for a

Unknown:

walk and keep your distance. And you will see that a

Unknown:

conversation, personal conversation over phone, or in

Unknown:

person has so much more quality and meaning then a voicemail or

Unknown:

interacting over messenger. So really look at your relationship

Unknown:

and see how much they're nurturing you and help you grow

Unknown:

or help you comfort and make you feel good.

Unknown:

And now sleep as I mentioned before, sleep is also your huge

Unknown:

thing, because I feel the sleep is most interrupted.

Unknown:

When we consume unconsciously, so late night snacks, and heavy

Unknown:

foods that are difficult and long to digest, late night news.

Unknown:

Of course, if it's a comedy show, or something that chews

Unknown:

you up, that's awesome. But the blue light the screen light is

Unknown:

somewhat agitating your eyes and and so in doing so your brain to

Unknown:

see if you can be aware of, of little habits that you might

Unknown:

have created because it helps you to cope with life.

Unknown:

But it actually is not good for your health, then just have a

Unknown:

look at it.

Unknown:

So it is the approach

Unknown:

to food intake, water intake, physical touch, and

Unknown:

relationships. It's your intention that you have when you

Unknown:

step out into the world. It's also your attitude. Yeah, when

Unknown:

you have like, oh, I have to drink or I have to eat and it's

Unknown:

all boring and the same.

Unknown:

And also your perception and how you perceive the world that will

Unknown:

greatly affect your well being.

Unknown:

So with mindfulness, with intention, with a good attitude,

Unknown:

whatever you approach, you will have positive, good results for

Unknown:

yourself and for others.

Unknown:

And if you're driven by your monkey mind, I mentioned the

Unknown:

monkey mind a little

Unknown:

a couple of times now your monkey mind is we can call it

Unknown:

your ego or it is the part of yourself that was heard in the

Unknown:

past and is trying to protect and control you now. And to

Unknown:

fill needs to satisfy cravings.

Unknown:

But the monkey mind sometimes acts like an misbehave child and

Unknown:

has to be put in the backseat. And you have to focus on your

Unknown:

body again and your heart and make decisions from that place

Unknown:

instead of from the monkey mind.

Unknown:

The signals from your body can be very subtle when it feels

Unknown:

discomfort. And when the monkey mind is Ruling Your World. Then

Unknown:

it oftentimes

Unknown:

over rules, what the body is actually needing because the

Unknown:

body has a very,

Unknown:

very soft way of telling you when things are going wrong. And

Unknown:

when we are sick.

Unknown:

I don't want to say it's too late. But then it means You

Unknown:

disregarded those warning signals for a long time already.

Unknown:

Doesn't mean you have to go into self punishment and everything

Unknown:

is bad. What do you do? It just means Be aware of your body and

Unknown:

what it is trying to tell you.

Unknown:

And why is it so critical to ask yourself who is ruling your life

Unknown:

because when you ignore those signals, once again, you can

Unknown:

become sick and if you are aware, you can get out of

Unknown:

sickness and live a very healthy and fulfilling life.

Unknown:

The monkey mind like in some cases in my life, for instance

Unknown:

can be so powerful that makes you believe it is the body's

Unknown:

needs that it is addressing. Yeah, when you look at Netflix,

Unknown:

junk food, alcohol weed porn.

Unknown:

The body reacts

Unknown:

So with with positivity there, but only because it has no

Unknown:

choice because it feels okay. We have all this now to distract us

Unknown:

from a bigger pain. Yeah. So if it is loneliness that makes you

Unknown:

binge watch NetFlix and eat junk food, drink alcohol, consume

Unknown:

porn, or smoke weed, then your body will act positive to these

Unknown:

things that you give them because it is actually

Unknown:

distracting from the pain of loneliness.

Unknown:

But previously, I gave you the tools now on how to connect

Unknown:

physically again to yourself and it is through drinking with

Unknown:

intention, eating with intention, touching yourself

Unknown:

with care, love, and intention. And yeah, we can even go down

Unknown:

the road of pleasuring yourself, which is a very important thing

Unknown:

when it comes to your sexual health. You don't need a partner

Unknown:

to

Unknown:

experience that you can do it without porn, just you and

Unknown:

yourself.

Unknown:

So those are the things that would be so cool if we could

Unknown:

replace

Unknown:

the Netflix the junk food, or go all the way to porn, replace it

Unknown:

by a hot bath, a nice phone call with a long lost friend, food

Unknown:

that you truly appreciate and water that you see as this

Unknown:

magical source that is so important for you to consume

Unknown:

with mindfulness.

Unknown:

So I got a little bit intense here because this topic is so so

Unknown:

important to me.

Unknown:

This was a 12 episode of the Borealis experience. I hope you

Unknown:

enjoyed it. Leave me a comment sent me a review or rate me.

Unknown:

Unknown:
