Shownotes

Married life really brings a dose of reality that can be different from what we expect. How do couples bridge this gap without feeling disillusioned?

Joining our host, Aaron Ng, is Ivan and Kerin Lau, a young couple who got married in 2020 and now have a 8 month old baby. Exploring how couples can communicate and negotiate expectations with the realities of married life, Ivan and Kerin share their experiences and some helpful tips – like having methodical debrief sessions after conflicts.

“The shift in my expectations was to come to terms with reality, to acknowledge that, “OK, it's never going to work in a way that I want it to if I insist.” So, why not I adjust and be patient? Loving someone means that I have to sometimes say no to myself, by saying yes to her.”
