And now, this week's episode.

Speaker:

While we all want to be consistent when it comes to our podcast publishing,

Speaker:

There will be times when you feel you have to take a break.

Speaker:

This can be down to illness.

Speaker:

It could be that you're getting busier at work.

Speaker:

It could be you've got some family stuff to take care of.

Speaker:

Or it could just be that you're feeling a little bit overwhelmed with the podcasting process

Speaker:

and you want to take a little break.

Speaker:

And there's nothing wrong with that whatsoever.

Speaker:

You come first over everything.

Speaker:

Now, quick heads up.

Speaker:

This is different from taking a break if your podcast is seasonal because listeners expect that.

Speaker:

But if you need to take an unplanned break,

Speaker:

here are some quick ways to make sure your listeners know what's happening and what comes next.

Speaker:

The first one is obviously let your listeners know so, either record a bonus episode or if your

Speaker:

podcast host supports dynamic content maybe drop a pre-roll into your episodes just saying, "Hey, just to

Speaker:

let you know i'm taking a short break from the podcast for the next few weeks and the show will

Speaker:

be back to its normal schedule on date X." This way you're letting listeners know about the break

Speaker:

and a rough idea when you expect it to come back. You can also make a quick announcement on social

Speaker:

media, or your newsletter, or anywhere you have an online presence. Again, you don't have to go into

Speaker:

the details of why you're taking a break, just that you're taking a break and here's when you

Speaker:

can expect new episodes. By doing this, you're taking a break that you need and you're also

Speaker:

keeping your listeners up to date. That way they'll be ready and waiting for you when you come back.

Speaker:

Until the next time, happy podcasting.

Speaker:

Thanks for listening. If you enjoy One Minute Podcast Tips, be sure to share with your friends
