Meditation Script:

Find a comfortable place to be in your body, seated or lying down, relaxed and

supported. Inhaling through your nose, notice any tension in the body. As you exhale,

soften and relax whatever you can. Inhaling, feel the cool air coming in

through your nostrils. Exhaling, feel the soft, warm air touching your upper

lip. Inhaling, notice any aromas on the air. Observe the heaviness or lightness

of scent. Exhaling, imagine you are in the humid warmth of a tropical forest.

Rays of sunlight beam dimly down from an overcast sky through the many shades

of lush green leaves on diverse trees.

Your feet protected by forest green rain boots, you walk, in wonder, mindfully through

the forest. You hear the buzz of insects, the expressive and varied tweets and

squawking of birds. You feel the heaviness of damp heat. As you make your way

through the forest, a lush groundcover with every step, you see before you a

variety of unique orchids, rising up tall from the earth. One orchid’s green

stem rises out from thick green leaves, a large pink petal hangs down like a

tongue, two orange petals are open out to the sides from the center of the

flower. Another orchid has a small pink nub in the center, its purple petals

opening out to the sides in the shape of elephant ears. You see multiple shades

of orange and pink and white and yellow, some petals dotted with dark brown and

black spots. As you breathe in the warm, aromatic air, you take in the abundantly

sweet and perfume-like scents of earth, flowers, and vegetation. You rest in the

sight and smell and sound and feel of the scene that surrounds you.

Deep breath in, deep breath out. Now, letting go of this scene, bring your attention to the

space you’re in, the support beneath your body, what you feel, taste, smell,

and hear. Gently blinking open your eyes, bringing gentle movement to your

body, move through your day or into rest energized by this moment of rest.

Thank you for meditating with me. Peace.
