Hey, folks! Donovan here, and day 228 of Alcohol Retirement brings you a wild ride through a domain name nightmare I tackled this week—something I've never encountered in my 35 years in the tech industry. Picture this: a client on Google Workspace suddenly stops receiving emails, and the culprit? A lapsed domain registered with the infamous GoDaddy. Cue a frustrating three-way call with GoDaddy support, but here's the kicker—no one knew the login credentials.

In our desperation, we navigated a confusing ID submission process to reclaim ownership, only to receive a disappointing "we can't help you" response. The twist? The domain had been stealthily transferred to a marketing company called OMG National, formerly Ad Services (or that’s our belief). The lesson? Never surrender domain control, especially to marketing companies.

As a temporary fix, I snagged a .net version of the domain and rerouted emails, but the larger issue remains—regaining control through the elusive owner's credentials. Fellow techies and domain wizards, if you've got insights or faced similar challenges, I'm all ears. Shoot me an email at don@callmedonovan.com or text 229-796-4009. Your advice might just be a game-changer.

So, as we wade through the murky waters of domain drama, remember, you can call me anything, but please, call me Donovan. Until next time—whether you're tuning in or watching the video—take care, and let's hope for a swift resolution. Bye for now!
