Holly Grigg-Spall is a well-known author and researcher in women's health whose work has inspired many to question the pharmaceutical industry's approach to birth control.
Holly is the author of the cult hit Sweetening the Pill: Or How We Got Hooked On Hormonal Birth Control. The book was released in 2013 and has since become an underground phenomenon. She is also a producer on a feature documentary, The Business of Birth Control, inspired by Sweetening the Pill, directed by Abby Epstein, and executive produced by Ricki Lake.
In this episode, I’m talking to Holly about Teena (https://myteena.com/), an easy-to-use cycle-tracking device that empowers young girls to understand their bodies better. We discuss why cycle tracking is essential for tweens and teens, why most of what’s on the market today isn’t suitable for this age group, how Teena is helping to fill the gap left by sex education classes, the long-term impact of supporting and empowering young girls about their menstrual cycles, and so much more!
