By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Jesus. John 13:35. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 22 of 30 Days in the Gospels. The single, universal evidence that we are followers of Jesus is not our religious profession or theological claim—it’s our sacrificial love for others, especially our fellow believers. If our theology is right, our relationships will be defined by the self-giving love of God. So, when Christians get caught up in angry quarrels, they deny the very Gospel they so passionately defend. I mean, if Jesus-followers can’t even love each other, what hope is there that they can love lost people? Worse, the world knows this fact intuitively, and turns in disgust from the charade—sometimes never to turn back. “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
