In this episode, Ted and Barb welcome Gina Vanderlin, CSP. Gina is an accomplished Environmental, Health, and Safety professional with more than a decade of experience supporting industry-leading organizations. She currently resides in New York, where she serves in an EHS Leadership role. Gina is passionate about personal branding. She talks about what personal branding is, what strategies and techniques can be used for developing and building a personal brand, what can damage your brand and how to fix it, and how you can leverage your brand to impact safety leadership.
According to Gina, there are a lot of connections between personal brand and safety leadership. And it is a great tool that we do not talk about often enough. You have to be clear about who you are and what are your strengths, and use them to maximize your potential. Your values guide your choices and your behaviors. People use leadership and management interchangeably. Leadership is what drives culture, and culture is essential to a positive safety environment. Your personal brand influences your leadership style. It represents who you are as a person and what you’re delivering, what values you bring to the equation.
