Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus. Matthew 5:10. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 9 of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing. Jesus’ words have bolstered the courage of trembling hearts ever since being spoken. Jesus again tumbles the world as we know it, on its head. Those bullied, threatened, even killed, for doing the right thing—they’re the ones who can stand tall as members of the Kingdom. When apparently forsaken, forgotten, abandoned—they are actually treasured. They have dared to lift their heads against injustice and unrighteousness. They have dared to push back against a rebellious, fallen society. Dared to do right when the cards were stacked against them. These courageous ones are honored members of heaven’s kingdom—for they have demonstrated their faith by living out its principles at great personal cost.
