Life Is Like a Mirror – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1757 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget. Today’s quote is from Ken Keyes, and it is, “A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a hostile world. Everyone you meet is your mirror.”

Life Is Like a Mirror

What is your outlook of the world and those with whom you are associated? It is a fact that how we view life is mainly reflective of our attitude and outlook. So, for example, if we see the world as getting increasingly worse and going to hell in a handbasket, our perspective of life will be filtered through those lenses.  In that case, our world will seem pretty dismal. But, on the other hand, if our worldview considers the world, even with its problems, as becoming increasingly better through communication and technology, then our perspective of the future will be much brighter. Therefore, one thing we can rely on, regardless of our worldview, is specific facts that point to the truth. You may want to consider some facts, especially if you struggle and see the world as hostile. First, in all of recorded human history, there are far fewer wars and conflicts. Second, our life spans are increasing exponentially. Third, medical breakthroughs allow us to live longer and with a much better quality of life. Fourth, technology is allowing living and working conditions to be much better and more manageable. Finally, the ability to communicate with family and friends is increasingly more accessible and less expensive. These examples are just scratching the surface of what we will see in the next 20-50 years, and the breakthroughs are increasing exponentially also. So if your worldview is one of hostility, you need to expand your horizons to see all the blessings we have in our lives today, especially compared to ages past. What is in our hearts and minds will overflow into our lives. Everyone we meet is a mirror of our hearts and mind. Hosea 10:12 I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’ As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.
