Shownotes
On this podcast episode, Yemi and Philia discuss the importance of surrendering our desire for revenge to God (Proverbs 24:17-2- and 25:21-22). If we seek revenge, we ensure that we will miss out on peace and instead live in bitterness. God asks us to leave the revenge to God. Not only do we need to surrender revenge to God, we need to accept it if God extends grace and mercy over harm to our enemies. Surrendering to God's will (revenge or mercy) is only one step in stopping the seeds of bitterness, anger or resentment from growing into a tree in our life. We also need to forgive and show kindness to our enemies, our opps or whomever has wronged us. Forgiveness and kindness is the good fruit we bear that is evidence of being a new creature in Christ, reformed of our old ways, putting aside bitterness, turning our backs on revenge and embracing peace. John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives."
