Philippians 2:1-3
ESV (as mentioned in the transcript):
"So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves."
NLT
"Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves."
NIV
"Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, any comfort from his love, any common sharing in the Spirit, any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,"

This is Journey with Prayer, a prayer journey corresponding to our
Speaker:previous episode.
Speaker:And let us consider how to stir up one another to love
Speaker:and good works, not neglecting to meet together as is the
Speaker:habit of some, but encouraging one another
Speaker:all the more as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews
Speaker:1024 to 25, taken from the ESV.
Speaker:Heavenly father, creator of all and the
Speaker:embodied essence of community and love.
Speaker:And we gather in your name, grateful and humbled by the wonders of your
Speaker:grace. We declare your sovereignty and thank
Speaker:you for the eternal truths that guide us, your
Speaker:presence, your word, and your steadfast love that
Speaker:never ceases.
Speaker:Thank you, Lord, for the gift of companionship and the many
Speaker:ways you mold our character through the relationships and communities
Speaker:you place us in. May
Speaker:we be better attuned to the ways we can encourage and uplift one
Speaker:another, spurring each other on towards love and good
Speaker:works? In a world
Speaker:that sometimes can feel isolating, remind us to
Speaker:seek communion, to share the joys and
Speaker:shoulder the burdens of our fellow sojourners, reflecting your
Speaker:love in all we do. We lift up those
Speaker:around us, asking for your strength and wisdom to
Speaker:permeate our interactions. May our
Speaker:gatherings be reflections of your kingdom, spaces where grace
Speaker:abounds and every individual is honored as your cherished creation.
Speaker:And in the quiet places of our hearts, may we be transformed
Speaker:by your spirit, growing even more in your likeness,
Speaker:more loving, more giving, and more courageous.
Speaker:We pray for those who feel isolated, that they may be
Speaker:enveloped in a community that echoes your love, And for those
Speaker:facing challenges, that their bonds of fellowship would be a source
Speaker:of strength and comfort. Guide us as we
Speaker:walk this journey to be your hands and feet in a world that so
Speaker:desperately needs your touch. In Jesus' name,
Speaker:amen. So as you
Speaker:go through your week, I wanna encourage you. Take the time to
Speaker:reflect. Reflect on Hebrews 1024 to
Speaker:25. Consider how you might stir up love and good
Speaker:works within your community, and then engage.
Speaker:Join or initiate a community gathering where you can practice encouragement
Speaker:and support one another, where they're sharing a meal,
Speaker:serving together, or simply meeting to discuss life's journeys in
Speaker:faith, and finally pray.
Speaker:Here's some prayer points to keep in mind. Pray for those who
Speaker:are seeking community, that they may find a place where they are
Speaker:welcomed and can grow in love and friendship.
Speaker:And then ask god to help us recognize opportunities to encourage
Speaker:others in their faith and to act boldly in seizing those
Speaker:moments. And then pray for your personal
Speaker:transformation. That in our interactions with others,
Speaker:we would be more like Jesus, showcasing his heart for
Speaker:people and serving as agents of healing and peace in our
Speaker:communities. You can check the show
