I can't wait to show you what we have in store for this weekend's around the House show.
Speaker A:Help us out and subscribe on your favorite podcast player.
Speaker A:If you want exclusive early episodes of the show, make sure you join the around the House insider on our website aroundthehouse online.com.
Speaker A:in the first hour, Eric and John Discuss the top 10 mistakes homeowners make when buying a home.
Speaker B:Ah, there's so many things.
Speaker B:Takes us right to the importance of maybe the inspector.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Maybe think about inspection first.
Speaker C:Inspections are so important.
Speaker C:But I'm going to put something in front of that and it's not even on the list.
Speaker C:But I want to bring this up.
Speaker C:If you're married or you're in any kind of relationship, before you go flip this house or you go dive into something, that relationship better be rock solid.
Speaker B:You got to be strong.
Speaker B:You got to.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker C:If it's not, or if you think it is and it's not, you better be ready for it because you are going to insert the highest stress on a relationship by remodeling a house that you're living in.
Speaker B:I will second that motion because.
Speaker B:And you knew Michelle, we were dating like two and a half years at that point and just excited 20 year olds, man.
Speaker B:We were like, wow, we're buying a house.
Speaker A:Like it was in the second hour.
Speaker A:It's all about timing.
Speaker A:When is the right time to start that next big remodel project?
Speaker C:It's crazy, but this is about the time that people go, oh my gosh, we're creeping up on the holidays.
Speaker C:It's time to start a remodeling project.
Speaker C:This can be the worst time to push the foot to the gas and run the proverbial design car into the wall.
Speaker C:Cause I tell you what, and Johnny.
Speaker A:You'Ve dealt with it, I've dealt with it.
Speaker C:It's always, hey, kids are back to school.
Speaker C:Time to back hitch remodel.
Speaker C:Because I've got 32 people coming over for Thanksgiving.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And we talked about it before we hit play here.
Speaker B:Every year, busiest time of year, everybody thinks you're going to get a three month remodel done for Thanksgiving and they call you on September 20th.
Speaker B:It's not fair to anybody.
Speaker B:It's not realistic.
Speaker B:And be cautious because there's plenty of contractors that'll tell you they can get it done because they need a buck.
Speaker B:And I just made every contractor out there hate me because some probably can.
Speaker B:If they got a 10 guy crew or a bunch of great subscribers, somebody might be able to pull it off, but they're only going to pull it off for one client.
Speaker A:All that and more on Saturday's around the House show with Eric G. If you work in the trades or construction or design business, check out the around the House Pro Insider podcast that is back.
