It's crazy cuz it's it's like a pandemic.
. Vince:Yeah.
Bucio:You would, you would think, you know, like we're just, we're
Bucio:just talking about it just now.
Bucio:Before you went live here.
Bucio:Right.
Bucio:It's like we shouldn't see these numbers.
Bucio:These, these shouldn't exist.
Bucio:Right, right.
Bucio:This is I was looking at 20 19, 2 36.
Bucio:Now this is only police, I believe.
Bucio:Cause I looked up a.
Bucio:The just kinda like, for police suicides, unfortunately.
Bucio:And that's in 2019, 236.
Bucio:And right now as it stands from what it looks like, 1 37, they're
Bucio:talking about like, someone's probably gonna say, well, it's a lot
Bucio:less, shouldn't be up there at all.
Bucio:It shouldn't be a thing.
Bucio:I shouldn't have to like go on here and look to see.
Bucio:Cause I shouldn't, you know, no one, no one should.
Vince:It seems like it's easier to find the, the statistics behind the losses a
Vince:lot easier than it is to find solution.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:The help.
Vince:Right.
Vince:And granted, I mean, I think we're going places we have made changes.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You know, we've made progress to what it used to be.
Vince:Mm-hmm.
Vince:even last year alone.
Vince:, well
Bucio:progress with the phone number too, right?
Bucio:Mm-hmm.
Bucio:the phone number used to be, and you know, I always thought about that too.
Bucio:Like that number is really long.
Bucio:Who's gonna remember that and who's gonna save that in their phone?
Bucio:Just to be like, yeah.
Bucio:Just in case one day say one day I decide, you know?
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:No, no one thinks like that.
Bucio:So, I mean, so we know here the number you can text or call 9 8 8 9
Vince:8 8.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:I mean, you, for an emergency you call 9 1 1.
Vince:Mm-hmm.
Vince:. Yeah, for help.
Vince:or information you called?
Vince:Not emergencies.
Vince:Here you call three 11.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:For information you call at least, I don't know if it still exists, but four 11.
Vince:Four 11, yeah.
Vince:You
Bucio:know, should have been the thing, you know, for a while.
Bucio:Like, yeah, it should have changed a long time ago.
Bucio:It shouldn't have took this long.
Bucio:It shouldn't took this many deaths for it to change.
Bucio:Right.
Vince:And I don't know, is that like the organization, I'm sure the
Vince:National Suicide Prevention outline.
Vince:I mean, I'm sure that's a project they've been working on forever and
Vince:there's probably a lot of loopholes and politics behind it, but, Yeah, it
Vince:shouldn't, it should have been the the foundation from the start, so, yeah.
Vince:But anyway welcome back with infant lines.
Vince:My name is Vince and with me today I have Armando Buso.
Vince:Hello, everyone.
Vince:Like I rolled my arms on that one.
Bucio:Yeah, I did like this.
Bucio:Nice.
Bucio:Yeah, it's real nice.
Bucio:Oh, wow.
Bucio:Do it one more time.
Bucio:, Vince: man.
Bucio:It's a one time thing.
Bucio:It's been a long time since I've seen you, man.
Bucio:Yeah, it's been it's been a few months.
Bucio:I think it's,
Bucio:Yeah, it was a rough couple months.
Bucio:Lot, lot of things going on, I think on
Vince:everybody's perspective.
Vince:, you know, for the good, the bad.
Vince:Mm-hmm.
Vince:challenging the easy mm-hmm.
Vince:. But here we are.
Vince:I think this was a, another impromptu episode.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:You know, we've, we've done, well we we're sitting on a recording right now middle
Vince:of editing and we're gonna release that.
Vince:And recent circumstances have made us wanna sit down for this episode.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Unfortunately.
Vince:And make this a priority.
Vince:So this is a a short for us, but.
Vince:nonetheless, something that's crucial and is to acknowledge the elephant
Vince:in the room, which is mental health, which is suicide prevention, which
Vince:is the loss that we've encountered or losses we've encountered.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Nationwide.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Yeah.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:So a buddy of mine from my former department, unfortunately
Bucio:you know, committed a suicide.
Bucio:I don't, you know, and I don't like to say it like that, but it, it, you know,
Bucio:it, it caught us off, off, off guard.
Bucio:Just, it, it just came outta nowhere, you know?
Bucio:And now this guy is, this guy was awesome.
Bucio:This guy was hilarious.
Bucio:This guy.
Bucio:just always there and, you know, looked at the good stuff.
Bucio:You know, he was a veteran and police officer.
Bucio:And I think most importantly, he was a great father.
Bucio:I saw a lot of his videos and pictures, stuff on the internet, you
Bucio:know, he was a great dude, you know?
Bucio:Mm-hmm.
Bucio:it's a, it's for sure a loss.
Bucio:I mean, anytime you lose something like that, it's a loss, but this for sure hurt
Bucio:a lot of, And yeah, and it sucks because I know I lost contact with him a little
Bucio:bit, you know, throughout the years after I left and to where I'm at now.
Bucio:But that guy was always, you know, he would, me and him would share Snapchats
Bucio:about cigars, so that was cool.
Bucio:So he still talked a little bit here and there.
Bucio:But like, you, it, you know, I feel for his partners, his two
Bucio:partners that he worked with that were like they were, they are.
Bucio:Hi.
Bucio:They are his best friends.
Bucio:I feel for those guys, cuz I don't know how they're doing it, you
Bucio:know, one day here, one day not.
Bucio:Yeah, it's rough
Vince:man.
Vince:It's a, it's a domino effect, you know?
Vince:It's, yeah.
Vince:And I, I don't wanna seem this, I don't wanna make it seem like this
Vince:episode's coming off dark and.
Vince:Challenging, but it is a dark and challenging conversation.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:But I think nonetheless, it's it needs to be addressed whenever
Vince:it encounters or it occurs.
Vince:And I think we're making progress with it as an organization here
Vince:who's we're focused on bringing that light back into mental health,
Vince:starting the conversation early.
Vince:You know, we're, we're aspiring to go out to these academies, law
Vince:enforcement, fire, ems maybe someday going into the, the military.
Vince:And just starting the conversation to our con our, our candidates.
Vince:In the essence of, like, my frustration is that in, in almost every academy
Vince:or every agency that I partake in, the basic training you wanna call
Vince:the mentation Express was like, don't bring your problems home.
Vince:and you always thinking like, okay, I guess so, and that kind of makes
Vince:sense cause maybe your family doesn't really understand or they're not
Vince:gonna be completely able to understand what you, what you've encountered.
Vince:But not bringing your problems home makes you ignore those problems.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:And then try to swallow those problems.
Vince:And then you find it that within a year or a couple months,
Vince:couple weeks, couple years.
Vince:, those problems re arise and has caused a greater issue.
Vince:Right.
Vince:Or a day.
Vince:Or a day.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Or a day.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:A couple hours, who knows?
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:And we could act like we are.
Vince:Okay.
Vince:And we could act like, you know, we're trying to protect our family
Vince:by not showing them our weaknesses.
Vince:But they already know, you know, the many you showed up to the
Vince:home, you know, they already know that you've had a challenging day.
Vince:Your body language, your demeanor.
Vince:Yep.
Vince:You know, so my response and part of my language is, fuck.
Vince:, bring it home, you know?
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Address it.
Vince:As soon as you get off shift, even while you're on shift, you know, have
Vince:that conversation with your partner, with your peers those involved.
Vince:You know, be the inspiration, be the, the guidance.
Vince:And then remember that you need guidance as well, regardless of how
Vince:many years on the job you've had.
Vince:Every circumstance is different.
Vince:Every situation is different.
Vince:I don't know what that officer.
Vince:completely was going through.
Vince:I mean, I, I know we have a, an an idea, but that's between him and, and, and the
Vince:rest that's going on to truly understand.
Vince:But yeah, I truly believe this is preventable.
Vince:You know,
Bucio:I think talking has always been the thing that many people don't wanna
Bucio:do, because I think we've talked about this in the past couple podcasts or
Bucio:something, but, It seemed as a weakness, as a weak, like spot, as a weakness
Bucio:to talk about it as men, you know, not so much as anybody, but as men.
Bucio:I mean, it could be, I'm not saying it's not hard for women, but I
Bucio:think it's like, I think it's especially harder for men, you know?
Bucio:And as you, as you were just talking about it right now, you, you were mentioning it,
Bucio:hopefully one day we go into like, talk to candidates, you know, at academies,
Bucio:you know, police or fire, whatever it may.
Bucio:What about, what if they're prior military, they're
Bucio:bringing that into the mm-hmm.
Bucio:with them to, you know, now they're gonna stack on top the job of police or fire,
Bucio:you know, or medical, you know, ems.
Bucio:So they definitely don't know who to talk to at that point.
Bucio:If they're even allowed to talk to, right.
Bucio:Like, if they say, oh, don't leave it behind you behind, or
Bucio:leave it here, leave it there.
Bucio:Don't take it home.
Bucio:Well, they have something else extra that they've been holding onto.
Bucio:So what, what are they gonna.
Bucio:You know, you take that and become stack it on top of something else.
Bucio:Recall, now you're really bubbling it up.
Bucio:What, what are you supposed to do?
Bucio:So we need to normalize the effect that it's okay not to be okay.
Bucio:We need to normalize that.
Bucio:We need to say and let others need to say and let others
Bucio:know that, hey, it's okay man.
Bucio:You can talk to me or I can talk to you.
Bucio:And that's the thing we're trying to strive to as well.
Bucio:Like, we're open here.
Bucio:This podcast is open.
Bucio:We're new.
Bucio:What do you mean?
Bucio:That we, we have resources that you, we, you can reach out to us and we can give
Bucio:you resources or you can even talk to us.
Bucio:Mm-hmm.
Bucio:, you can call us.
Bucio:We have, we have some numbers set up and one of us will pick up.
Bucio:Cause it's not just me and Vince here.
Bucio:We have a bunch of members or that got there already.
Bucio:Those guys are ready to talk to you.
Bucio:And recently we just got another guy to join honors and my friend, you know?
Bucio:Mm-hmm.
Bucio:he's a, he's a deacon, but he's also a first responder.
Bucio:And he was in, he's a veteran.
Bucio:. So, and he's been through it all.
Bucio:He was telling me a couple days ago when I was telling to him about it,
Bucio:so he offered his services, says anytime, and he plays, give him a call.
Bucio:Mm-hmm.
Bucio:. So he's on there, you know, I'm just saying like, there's, there's people
Bucio:you can talk to because we're here and, and we've been through your,
Bucio:we've been in, we're in your shoes.
Bucio:We've been in your shoes, and we know what's going on because we're first
Bucio:responders as well related, related.
Bucio:and we have someone for everyone, right?
Bucio:We have, we have military, we have police, we have fire, we have ems, we have nurses.
Bucio:You know, dispatchers.
Bucio:Dispatchers as well.
Bucio:You know, and we're here, man.
Bucio:You know, anything.
Bucio:Yeah.
Vince:No, you said it's, it's normalizing.
Vince:You know, it's the attempt to try to try to bring the calm back into the situ.
Vince:. And like I said, I think some of the feedback I get from our viewers is a
Vince:mindset of like, Hey, I mean, you guys should publish more episodes or y'all
Vince:are just trying to push out more content.
Vince:We're missing you guys, which is phenomenal.
Vince:Like, I, I love seeing that we actually have a followership, you know, , that
Bucio:one person,
Vince:somebody is kidding.
Vince:Hayden, no , that we actually have people that are listening but to know.
Vince:, we also, or I guess this is my opportunity, our, our opportunity to
Vince:express what else we got going on.
Vince:You know, it's more than just behind the mic.
Vince:Mm-hmm.
Vince:, you know, there's, there's a plethora of things that we've aimed and
Vince:thrived to do with this organization.
Vince:We kind of touched base that we're, we're reaching out these academies
Vince:and, and you know, even if it's given us an hour, and I guess there's a
Vince:specific academy that's actually been listening to our podcast religiously.
Vince:Nice.
Vince:For content and for education, you know, so we're, we're gonna be
Vince:coordinated with them to possibly have a live show at their facility with
Vince:their students to give them a chance to be part of the conversation live.
Vince:You know, we're also
Bucio:doing actual podcast for like, IMED to get Yup.
Bucio:Kane so.
Bucio:although we don't publish more often, I think that a lot of our episodes are
Bucio:very strategically made and you know, they're gonna be put out for certain
Bucio:situations or like a fortune situation like today, or, you know, just training.
Bucio:There's a big one for us, you know?
Bucio:Mm-hmm.
Bucio:. So that's what we're working on.
Bucio:And of course we're working on getting more episodes here and there, you know,
Bucio:within the week or a couple weeks or the month, whatever it is that we're working.
Bucio:To put those episodes out, but we're also giving you like really good content.
Bucio:You know, it's not just like, yeah, tomorrow let's talk
Bucio:about something and then Yeah.
Bucio:What'd you add today?
Bucio:Oh, I had a black coffee.
Bucio:What'd you have for lunch today?
Bucio:Yeah, another black coffee.
Bucio:Right?
Bucio:. But like, we want, we want these episodes to mean something and actually be.
Bucio:Relatable to people and actually have some type of content or some
Bucio:type of something that we can give you, you know, yes, we out yes.
Bucio:Whether it be this right now talking or would it be some type of safety?
Bucio:Everything you can have like safety isn't like something you can do at work.
Bucio:Safety related, you know.
Bucio:Sure.
Bucio:Or training.
Bucio:Right.
Bucio:And we're also working on that.
Bucio:We're also working on videos about training, so tips and
Bucio:tricks and what that stuff
Vince:like that.
Vince:Yep.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:There's a lot, lot more behind the mic.
Vince:You know, like I said, a question we get lot is how many viewers do you.
Vince:, you know, what's your followship like?
Vince:And I mean, I have the means to be able to look that up, you know?
Vince:But I think I neglect that side of the platform because that
Vince:doesn't really mean anything to me.
Vince:You know, you could talk about a number.
Vince:I think the numbers we're looking for is the people who respond to our show with
Vince:emails or people who call our business.
Vince:just to have a conversation or, you know, the amount of followers that have actually
Vince:said, Hey, can I be part of the cadre?
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You know, that's, that's like the win, you know, we have individuals actually
Vince:admit and acknowledge that they're struggling and they seek help through us.
Vince:Like that's the number I count, and that's the number I I, I look for
Vince:as currency, so to speak, you know?
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:. I mean, and granted, I wish, I wish all of us here could do this full-time.
Vince:You know, would it be great to be able to say we're pushing out an episode a week?
Vince:A hundred percent.
Vince:Yeah.
Bucio:I think we're doing more quality sort of quantity.
Bucio:I think that's kind of the way you can think about it, right?
Bucio:So
Vince:Right.
Vince:Purpose, meaning, right.
Vince:You know?
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:What's the what's the reason behind it, you know?
Vince:, but in recent events, you know, like, yeah, it's, it's a challenging time.
Vince:Especially the holidays, you know?
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:I think that's always been a challenging time of the year.
Vince:And has there been change in resources?
Vince:Yeah, sure.
Vince:Like I said, the, the three digit number for the National Suicide Prevention
Vince:Hotline of 9 88, you know, call, tax call or chat box on their website,
Vince:you know, it's a resource for them.
Vince:They have a Veterans Channel now as.
Vince:Which is huge, you know, and it's an easier number to remember.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You know, and I see, I hear it on radio shows.
Vince:I see it come across tv and it's just, like you said, it's
Vince:normalizing this conversation, you know, but there, there still needs
Vince:to be more resources out there.
Vince:We talk a lot about, you know, there's a lot of programs out there that help
Vince:you acknowledge whether or not you have mental disorders or mental challenges.
Vince:You know, they at least say, Hey, here are the signs and symptom.
Vince:, but then there's nothing out there.
Vince:It really says, what do you do from here on out?
Vince:You know, what do you do in long term, you know, short term, a month,
Vince:a couple days, years, a decade?
Vince:You know, how do you cope and how do you deal with it?
Vince:And and another part of it, and I've gotten her permission
Vince:to talk about it lightly.
Vince:You know, we're, we're still not gonna disclose full information,
Vince:but we're working with families, you know, significant.
Vince:You know, there's a family out there who, whose husband is a
Vince:veteran, is going through ptsd.
Vince:T S D as you know, is, is going through the challenging times, has unfortunately
Vince:succumbeded to the the alcohol habit.
Vince:And what we are gonna do is we're approached by this family is you know, go
Vince:make contact and go find this individual and, and just normalize this, the stigma,
Vince:you know, the side to break the stigma to.
Vince:, you know, let's talk, let's, let's figure this out.
Vince:You know, let's make this a a brotherhood.
Vince:And that's what we do and that's what we thrive for.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:I think the, with that said, like you had said we're also working on things to
Bucio:make it easier for you guys to contact us for that reason or for any other reason.
Bucio:So like one of the, like our phone number is (844) 782-9985.
Bucio:That's 8 4 4 7 8 2 9 9 8.
Bucio:The interesting part about that number is that one of us is gonna pick
Bucio:up and it's gonna go, like, it'll, it'll ring until someone picks up.
Bucio:Am I, am I correct, Vince?
Vince:Yep.
Vince:It'll, it'll cycle through the cadre members, you know, and then granted, there
Vince:may be a time of the day or whatever that not all the cadre members are available or
Vince:none of the cadre members are available.
Vince:But it gives you a chance to leave a voicemail and we, we follow it pretty
Vince:religiously and make sure we're following up with those individuals who call.
Vince:But that just shows that we are trying to make this into a team organization.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Where you can reach out to one of us and let's say you call us and you need
Vince:somebody of a military background, you know, but let's say buso yourself,
Vince:you know, with the ems, fire, and law.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:There may be an individual who you, you pick up and says, Hey, I need military.
Vince:you'll be able to further this, this conversation by trying to reach out
Vince:to one of us who are military Yeah.
Vince:Or our partnering organizations such as first help.org the 9 88 hotline,
Vince:you know, and, and other agencies.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Really dependent on where that individual lives.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:We're gonna help you out.
Bucio:We're gonna get you who you need and even someone talk to and like, our friend.
Bucio:Jumped on to become part of the podcast.
Bucio:He's a, he's done the serv.
Bucio:He's a first responder.
Bucio:Like I said, he's a veteran and he is also a deacon.
Bucio:So, you know, he, he's done, he's done it all a little bit here, there too.
Bucio:So he's, he's been through a lot of things.
Bucio:So, you know, if you're like in really religious, you know, you can talk to him.
Bucio:You know, he got, he's like a chaplain almost.
Bucio:Nice.
Bucio:So, . Yeah.
Bucio:So at one point he was looking into being a chaplain for
Bucio:something else that I was doing.
Bucio:He would say, Hey, I can be your chaplain.
Bucio:I'll say, we'll take it.
Bucio:You know?
Bucio:Sure.
Bucio:So that's, that's good to know.
Bucio:Sure.
Bucio:He's a good guy.
Bucio:So I know he is, been through a, a few things and he was giving me information
Vince:at time, so.
Vince:Sure.
Vince:And the other side of the house is that we are sent up these
Vince:events, you know, come, uh mm-hmm.
Vince:, I have to talk to Tyler cuz this is, this is his niche of the house.
Vince:You know, we're setting up a fishing.
Vince:, it's gonna happen in March of next year.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:And it'll be out Michigan.
Vince:And the goal is to get multiple charters where we kind of
Vince:build up on multiple teams.
Vince:Make it a little competitive, you know, veterans versus law, or
Vince:veterans versus ems and this and that.
Vince:And you know, people go out fishing, they pick up a new hobby, they experience
Vince:something they haven't experienced before.
Vince:And and the day we come back together, we do a cookoff, you
Vince:know, we have a little campground.
Vince:Brewery, whatever it is.
Vince:And, and cigars have, cigars, have a little bonfire and just, you know, chat.
Vince:And it doesn't have to be about anything.
Vince:It could be about everything.
Vince:It could be about, you know, the day-to-day life, or it could be, you know,
Vince:the, the deep moments where we're actually opening up to who may be strangers
Vince:to us, but wear the same uniform.
Vince:Mm-hmm.
Vince:, you know, and like I said, when it comes to mental health and, and
Vince:speaking on probably behalf for everybody who is a first responder
Vince:or veteran, you know, we're.
Vince:And we're not gonna be able to talk to someone who's never experienced it.
Vince:You know, you know, it's
Bucio:hard to talk to someone who's never experienced it.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:Because even though they have a PhD in whatever it is or whatever it may
Bucio:be, they've never been in the field.
Bucio:You know what I'm saying?
Bucio:They, they'll, they'll, they might even look up stuff saying,
Bucio:oh, this is how you should feel.
Bucio:No, no.
Bucio:You know, we got people who have experience and they're still either on the
Bucio:job or we're on the job, and they can tell you firsthand, this is what you can do.
Bucio:This is how I coped with it.
Bucio:You know, not just someone sitting there with a clip.
Bucio:or, you know, notepad John's stuff down, and then, oh, come back next week
Bucio:and I'll tell you how this is . Yeah.
Bucio:I never,
Vince:you know, yeah.
Vince:We are our greatest assets, you know, we're the greatest tools to our mental
Vince:health, our physical health, you know.
Vince:And that's what we gotta do is just, just continue this conversation,
Vince:continue our, our guidance and our aspirations here to you all and say you.
Vince:Although we may be hit or miss about what dates we release these episodes.
Vince:And not always consistent, but our phone line and our email and our social
Vince:medias, you know, those are consistent.
Vince:Consistent.
Vince:And we have a connection, you know, where we're able to respond to you all.
Vince:. And even if it's just like, you know, Hey, I have a training idea or a topic you
Vince:wanna talk about, or a question, you know, I have people write up to me and say, Hey,
Vince:what do you think about this protocol?
Vince:Who recently changed ketamine?
Vince:And you all know by now that I very passionate about Vince loves ketamine.
Vince:I'm very compassionate about it and I love seeing it that we have these
Vince:viewers, you know, fall along with our conversations, you know, and
Vince:yeah, that's, that's what we're aiming for and that's what we thrive for.
Vince:So stay tuned.
Vince:We're, we're able to talk to you a little more about these.
Vince:These events that we're going to, especially in March, you know,
Vince:we're gonna be, so figuring out some of the logistics behind it.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:We're, we are gonna be recording an episode shortly with another agency who
Vince:we are gonna be formally partnering with who is gonna be able to, you know, broaden
Vince:our resources, our coverage area, and just make the mission overall greater.
Vince:You know, and that's gonna be a another foundation who.
Vince:, you know, definitely could see some value in what we bring and and vice versa.
Vince:And you know, it's all about collaborating to the greater good, which is to you,
Vince:the support of you all out there.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:So, but then it goes, goes, goes family, you know, goes
Vince:through your friends as well.
Vince:Anybody who is in your life that witnesses your day to day you know,
Vince:that's what we could do if we could.
Vince:I mean, look at my dogs.
Vince:They're probably somewhere in the camera here.
Vince:They're slum dogs, you know?
Vince:But, Our canines are, are great mental health, you know, so I plan on
Vince:bringing one of my dogs over to the academies to show them mental support.
Vince:Because you'd be surprised what a dog could do.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:To be able to really enlight somebody's day,
Bucio:you know?
Bucio:Actually, you know, I think tomorrow, which is I heard something
Bucio:about having, most likely maybe having a therapy down there.
Bucio:Yeah, yeah.
Bucio:Which is, which is awesome.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:Latino was one of the canine guys who was like, Hey, I got connections, so, yep.
Bucio:Maybe I can talk to them and that too.
Bucio:There you go.
Vince:There you go.
Vince:See, we're
Vince:constantly
Bucio:working here.
Bucio:We're start, we're constantly trying.
Bucio:No, remember that one time we went to when we did the cigars and the gift
Bucio:cards for the troopers, after that one, trooper, unfortunately did the same thing.
Bucio:Yes.
Bucio:He like, and we went out there and you.
Bucio:Remember?
Bucio:And, and right away he said, oh, I love dogs.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:Because he saw him in the back and just, just popped his head out.
Bucio:, that was
Vince:it.
Vince:That was it.
Vince:That's sometimes that's the best, best way to to really break the, you know,
Vince:or build that connection and break the stigma and just, you know, even if
Vince:it's just starting the conversation.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You know?
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:And yeah, this is where I really hope that we see a lot more engagement,
Vince:you know, through our audience.
Vince:for those who have appreciated us.
Vince:You know, I've, I've, I've recently have had a, a plethora of responses
Vince:and people who have been following us just verbally expressing their interest
Vince:and they're like, man, you know, you gotta, you gotta put more content.
Vince:We're expecting more.
Vince:We want more, and this and that.
Vince:And it's like, there's a lot going on.
Vince:, you know, we have a lot going on, but I'm honored and I'm, I'm, you know,
Vince:we take this as a, as a privilege to really be to be here for you all.
Vince:But I, I challenge you all to.
Vince:Take this next step.
Vince:You know, if you listen to this episode and it's a short episode, but
Vince:it's hopefully it gets to the point.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You know, reach out to our email at, well, the whole email is stay wtl podcast.us.
Vince:Reach out to us and accept the challenge where we're gonna
Vince:send you a challenge coin.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You know, we've got these, these
Bucio:challenge coins.
Bucio:I think they're almost like temporary coins.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:We're gonna get a lot better ones, but we're working.
Bucio:There's gonna a lot
Vince:better ones.
Vince:There you go.
Vince:And we've talked about these coins before and initially our goal with these coins
Vince:was to do this as like a an honorable pat in the back, like good job kind of thing.
Vince:You know?
Bucio:Honestly, real quick, I think there's two sides to this coin.
Bucio:The way we have it on the floor, literally there's two sides.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:Literally.
Bucio:And the, the back is to honor those who have fallen.
Bucio:Yes.
Bucio:And I think the front is to, to show those that we're here and we train and you.
Bucio:, thank you for doing what you're doing.
Bucio:And con, you know, like a Congratulations on you doing really good, hard work.
Bucio:That's how we give 'em out too.
Bucio:Yes.
Bucio:That's how you get one in a way.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:But we're gonna extend this to where emailing us mm-hmm.
Vince:and we will send you a low care package.
Vince:And we want you to take this challenge where you put this in your pocket, you
Vince:know, put this in your wallet, put this in your duty bag, and then anytime you
Vince:find yourself in a challenging moment and you need a way, you know, you need a way.
Vince:Find strength, you need a way to find some sort of support.
Vince:You know, this is your token to the show.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Whether it's coming up in person, reaching out to us and being part of one
Vince:of our events, or every now and then.
Vince:I mean, my cigar lounge is a, or my garage is a formal cigar lounge now.
Vince:Right.
Vince:Show up and you got one of these coins in your hand.
Vince:I mean, that's, you just want your c or want a, want a spot in our couch, you
Vince:know, just sit down and join the convers.
Vince:Or it's just the saying, Hey, you know, you put your coin on the table, and
Vince:that's the non-verbal way of you saying, I gotta, I gotta get help, you know?
Vince:Mm-hmm.
Vince:. And if, if that's what it takes for us to lower these numbers of the
Vince:losses that we are seeing, then yes.
Vince:That we're in, you know, , but I really hope we do get these people responding.
Vince:I really hope you all are listening to this and say, you know what,
Vince:I'll take that a challenge.
Vince:As silly as it may sound as cliche or, you know, minute, it may be, I think
Vince:somebody out there may take that as a challenge to say, I gotta, I gotta
Vince:pay attention to this a little more.
Vince:You know, I'm
Bucio:gonna, I'm gonna say something cause it, it just clicked in my head.
Bucio:I was actually talking to my daughter a couple.
Bucio:About a week ago, I was letting her know that you need to ask for help.
Bucio:I was talking to her in the sense of like, schoolwork, because she struggles.
Bucio:I mean, I, I struggled a lot in school, but I think that this works in the real
Bucio:world because no one is really gonna come up to you all the time and say,
Bucio:do you need some help with something?
Bucio:Especially to a man, right?
Bucio:So what you need to do is you need to.
Bucio:and, and I tell her like this, but like, raise your hand.
Bucio:Or in our case, put the coin down, right?
Bucio:And say, Hey, I need help.
Bucio:No, I, I, I need help with whatever it is that's going on.
Bucio:I need help.
Bucio:So if you guys, women, men out there, you need help, man, reach out.
Bucio:Don't you know, and I was telling her, because she's, you know, I'm like, if
Bucio:you're gonna do it in school and you're gonna raise your hand, I have a question.
Bucio:I need help.
Bucio:People are gonna be that stupid.
Bucio:You're stupid as dumb.
Bucio:Why'd you ask that question?
Bucio:You know?
Bucio:Maybe you're embarrassed of asking that question.
Bucio:Don't be embarrassed to answer that question.
Bucio:Don't be embarrassed to ask for help.
Bucio:Don't be embarrassed in any way.
Bucio:You know when you need it.
Bucio:You know, because you know what?
Bucio:It could be a domino effect in a good way.
Bucio:If you need help, maybe somebody else needs help as well.
Bucio:Sure.
Bucio:Then they see you going to get help.
Bucio:Maybe they're gonna go get help.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:So don't be embarrassed.
Bucio:Don't care about what other people.
Bucio:because you're this big person or something, you know?
Bucio:It's like, man, that guy needs help.
Bucio:Maybe that guy needs help and someone else needs help.
Bucio:So don't be afraid to ask for help.
Vince:Yeah, I like that.
Vince:If Buso could say it, then you all could live it.
Vince:I mean, man,
Bucio:me and her had like a moment now.
Bucio:Sure.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:But yeah, cause it's hard.
Bucio:It's not easy, man.
Bucio:It really isn't.
Vince:It's really not, man.
Vince:It's really not.
Vince:, you know, but at the, at the same point, I mean, we talk about all these
Vince:resources and maybe the lack thereof.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:But we've got them right in front of us, you know, our partners.
Vince:Mm-hmm.
Vince:, our peers, you know, and even our family.
Vince:So this could be extended out to the family members as well.
Vince:You know, you see, you wanna be partake of this this challenge.
Vince:Come email us, we'll send you a challenge coin.
Vince:, you know, cause you, you'd be a Zoom call.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You'd be surprised.
Vince:You'd be surprised.
Vince:I and I, if, if she listens to the show, I'm, I'm pretty sure she knows
Vince:exactly that I'm talking about her.
Vince:This is kind of a movement of your sacrifices and your efforts and
Vince:your challenging times as well.
Vince:You know, recent conversation I had with her, and, and this is a spouse of
Vince:a, a veteran who's going through PTSD is I told her I was like, before the
Vince:conversation, then it's like, you know, I'm gonna say I, I respect your spouse.
Vince:I respect, you know, the, the, the individual that we're talking
Vince:about, who I still need to further meet in, in this challenging times.
Vince:And I will always say that I will honor our first responders and our military
Vince:personnel, but I also wanna make sure we take the time to acknowledge and honor
Vince:our spouses and our family members.
Vince:Because if anybody has it hard, they have the hardest.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You know, there are times where they don't know what they're walking.
Vince:They, they're kind of left in the dust.
Vince:They're kind of left in the quiet, in the dark.
Vince:And there's not resources out there for family members to
Vince:really regain the strength.
Vince:You know, there's no, you know, there's 9 88 for this, the National
Vince:Suicide Prevention, but there's also, you know, is there a lot of
Vince:organizations meant for family Yeah.
Vince:In what they can do.
Vince:Mm-hmm.
Vince:, you know, so because of that recent conversation with her, it's kind
Vince:of made me say, we're gonna really, really gonna pay attention to family.
Vince:Someday have this episode or this podcast release an episode where it's
Vince:our family members on the break, our spouses, talking about our problems.
Vince:Problems and our challenges and what they
Bucio:go through, what they don't like.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:. Vince: Right.
Bucio:You know, but that's that's, that's really it.
Bucio:You know, it's really the, that's just normalize this,
Bucio:make this a everyday thing.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:You know, so take us up on this challenge.
Bucio:If you like the show, you like the content, you like what we're doing.
Bucio:You've seen us in person.
Bucio:I hope we see you.
Bucio:If you've utilized our resources, I hope you continue to utilize it.
Bucio:But if you really see some, some benefit out this show, then
Bucio:email us at Stay at wtl podcast.
Bucio:Tell us you're accepting a challenge.
Bucio:We will get your information and we'll send you out a care package,
Bucio:which I'm sure is gonna be a lot more than just a challenge.
Bucio:Yeah, no, we got some stuff, . We got some cool stuff.
Bucio:Reach out to us at our phone number as you want.
Bucio:That's 8 4 4 7 8.
Bucio:99.

Bucio:Also Oregon
Vince:as, yeah.
Vince:8 44 stay wtl.
Vince:Oh yeah.
Vince:8 44 Stay wt.
Vince:I worked hard to get that number.
Vince:, Bucio: I'm sorry.
Vince:I apologize.
Vince:I sometimes it's hard for me.
Vince:Right, right.
Vince:I need to see those numbers now, but yeah.
Vince:Right, right.
Vince:Stay.
Vince:Was it 8 44?
Vince:Stay wtl.
Vince:Now it would be great if we had our own three digit number, but we're,
Vince:that's probably gonna be a while.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:In a while.
Vince:, Bucio: but you could also,
Vince:Nine eighty eight.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:Text or call that number if you need it.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:And then you can still reach your toes on social media as well.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:WTO podcast.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:You know, we have a lot of things going on in the background.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:And at some point we're gonna be transparent and tell you the progress and
Vince:where we're going and what we've done.
Vince:You know, I, it's a lot of exciting stuff.
Vince:It is.
Vince:It
Bucio:really is.
Bucio:It's, it's really cool.
Bucio:Like,
Vince:dude, it really is.
Vince:Talk about your first episode here.
Vince:You know, the first time you came on this show.
Vince:Way different from then to now.
Vince:It's like what?
Vince:We have a new
Bucio:desk too, right?
Bucio:We
Vince:got a new,
Bucio:Setup, new desk here, A new setup.
Bucio:But yeah, no, we got some good stuff, man.
Bucio:Really good stuff.
Bucio:Mm-hmm.
Bucio:, Vince: so.
Bucio:Mm-hmm.
Bucio:. And if you see yourself, you know, partaking in our mission, you could also
Bucio:reach out to possibly join the team.
Bucio:Mm-hmm.
Bucio:via what?
Bucio:Gather at wt.
Bucio:Sorry, my fault.
Bucio:. Vince: Oh man.
Bucio:This is how long he's been off the show.
Bucio:No,
Bucio:it's, well, it's, yeah, it's Kare wtl podcast us.
Bucio:Yes.
Bucio:I forgot the US part.
Bucio:Okay.
Bucio:Yeah, that was the one I was like, wait, yeah.
Bucio:What?
Bucio:Kare wtl podcast us?
Bucio:Yes.
Bucio:That's if you wanna be part of the show and be part of the Kare, which is,
Bucio:we'll explain to you more of you email
Vince:lessons put there.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:I mean, you know, there's a lot of tasks behind this and there's some
Vince:responsibility, you know, and whatnot.
Vince:We're looking for like-minded individuals who are inspired
Vince:and aspired to help others.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:To help with leadership, help training.
Bucio:They have a teaching ability that they wanna do, you know, so.
Vince:Sure.
Vince:Or if you're a video editor, we're also looking for video.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:If you know how to edit content, you know, that would definitely help.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Just producers.
Vince:No, but we're, we're looking for that.
Vince:That's, that's what we're trying to do.
Vince:You know, we're doing a lot in person.
Vince:. I don't know if you guys
Bucio:know all this, but Vince does like pretty much everything.
Bucio:. I don't, he's literally the, I dunno.
Bucio:No.
Bucio:Well he, he does the editing, he does the microphones, sets him up.
Bucio:You know, he gets the context to have people come in.
Bucio:You know, one, once I leave here, I'm sure he is not going to sleep.
Bucio:That's why he has a coffee in his front, you know, . So he does a lot.
Bucio:You know, we try to help him out as best we can.
Bucio:Half the times, there's just stuff that we don't even know yet.
Bucio:Right.
Bucio:So we're trying to figure that out.
Bucio:Right.
Bucio:And then, yeah.
Vince:Yep.
Vince:So, yeah.
Vince:Well, you got here today to catch up with me, like, so how's everything going?
Vince:I'm like, I don't even know where to begin.
Vince:You didn't
Bucio:tell me anything.
Bucio:He just looked at me like, eh, . I was like, eh, little
Vince:teardrop comes on my eyes.
Vince:I don't know what's going on.
Vince:But yeah.
Vince:No, it's exciting, man.
Vince:This has been a, a project that I've, I'm really committed to and
Vince:I'm really compassionate about, you know, but it's, it's nonetheless, , it
Vince:wouldn't be where it is now if it weren't for the help of the cadre.
Vince:You know?
Vince:And, and I see this as our show, our mission, you know, and you
Vince:are the viewer, the listener.
Vince:This is your mission and it's just to to be part of it.
Vince:That's right.
Vince:So we're looking for individuals, we're looking for, for people
Vince:to, you know, join the team.
Vince:We're looking for people who want to take the challenge.
Vince:You get a cool coin out of it, put it in your back pocket.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:And yeah, just be part of this.
Vince:This is a great family.
Vince:. Yeah, right.
Vince:. It's something.
Vince:It's something.
Vince:And we have cigars.
Bucio:And we have cigars and a bunch
Vince:liquor and, yep, yep, yep.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:And we go to, we go to ranges and Oh yeah.
Vince:Have some good time.
Vince:Got some good toys.
Vince:Yep.
Vince:. Yep.
Vince:So what are you carrying
Bucio:right now?
Bucio:. But that thing is nice.
Vince:Yeah, that thing is nice.
Vince:It is nice.
Vince:That's nice.
Vince:Let's talk about hobbies, right?
Vince:I guess we'll finish a show with a little hobby side.
Vince:Yeah, right.
Vince:We talked about a little, the challenging times, which we are not neglecting
Vince:and I'm not trying to push past it.
Vince:We're
Bucio:not trying to make this episode like kind of dark
Bucio:or anything in that matter.
Bucio:We wanna let you know that even though we're here for you
Bucio:guys and you know, losing that friend of mine, that's not cool.
Bucio:You know, that's, that sucks.
Bucio:You know, we're just trying to end it in a good note, not in a bad note, you
Bucio:know, and just let you know, you know, we're talking about hobbies cuz if
Bucio:you have a hobby sometimes that helps.
Bucio:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bucio:You know, has a hobby of owning hobby, a bunch of stuff that Right.
Bucio:he hasn't even used yet.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:I like, I like shooting, you know, I like my range time front.
Vince:I got a flame thrower.
Vince:Yes, indeed.
Vince:I'm just into that stuff, man.
Vince:I'm into the cool stuff, you know, and doing it responsibly obviously, but,
Vince:you know, I'm into when I have other people who don't know how to clean their
Vince:shotguns, you know, they come, bring it here and I, I like, you know, I like
Vince:taking the time to really suit up somebody else with a, you know, a cool toy.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You know, and, Oh yeah, he definitely did that.
Bucio:Yes,
Vince:I definitely did appreciate that.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:She had a rusty shotgun, you know, but my everyday, listen,
Bucio:that was a, that was a freak accident.
Bucio:It's not rusty anymore.
Vince:Your face was a freak accident, , you can't change that.
Vince:All right.
Vince:Exactly.
Vince:You know, that's what we're doing.
Vince:I got a little station in my, my studio now.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Where it's just a gun cleaning and you know, accessorizing, whatever.
Vince:And it's just, that's my hobby.
Vince:That's my pickup.
Vince:You know, my, my outlet is going to the gym, you know, and I think
Vince:I, I really pay, I really work that, that monthly membership, man.
Vince:Oh, you worked me that
Bucio:one time.
Bucio:I hate you for, yeah, that was a year.
Bucio:Was it?
Bucio:Was that the last time I worked out a year ago?
Bucio:? Vince: I hope not.
Bucio:But it was the last time you went out with me, man.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:First hand
Bucio:last.
Bucio:I think that's the first and last time.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:Other than in the whole he tried to kill me with I don't even remember.
Bucio:I think that was a little Daz.
Bucio:I had to drive home
Vince:that day too.
Vince:, you drive home in tears.
Bucio:Cried in my car for an hour and a half before I left, but
Vince:fitness is key in my mind.
Vince:You know, that is it.
Vince:It releases endorphins.
Vince:. Huh?
Vince:What?
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:N fq . N fq.
Vince:Never fucking quit.
Vince:It releases endorphins.
Vince:It makes you stronger.
Vince:And then, I mean, listen to our next podcast, the one we're
Vince:about to release here shortly.
Vince:We recorded last week.
Vince:You know, we, we gave you a challenge of of doing pushups on
Vince:the show, and we talked about what the effects of physical fitness.
Vince:They did a
Bucio:study on that too, a while.
Bucio:Man.
Bucio:Some, some like Harvard kids or something.
Bucio:They say that they really helps out.
Bucio:Yes.
Bucio:Even pushups.
Bucio:Just like get on the floor.
Bucio:20 pushers.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:And it, it's like, I mean, yeah, you, but there's other things.
Bucio:If, if you work out and you don't like to go hit the gym with weights
Bucio:and stuff, you can do other things.
Bucio:Mm-hmm.
Bucio:, you know, like I do like mixed martial arts or something, you know, like
Bucio:that's still getting the body going.
Bucio:You know,
Vince:sweating is detox.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You know, that's, I don't know.
Vince:And then you find, you find yourself building relationships
Vince:within the gym community.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:You know, you see that one guy or gal that you've, you've happened to be working out
Vince:at the same time and you're like, oh yeah.
Vince:What you working on?
Vince:And then you just start having a conversation and you find
Vince:yourself helping each other out.
Vince:You know, and it's just building that camaraderie, you know?
Vince:But why can't we take that camaraderie into our everyday careers?
Vince:Hmm.
Vince:You know?
Vince:How cool would it be to be able to say that we have a first
Vince:responder, Jim, who you know?
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:You know, I've always thought about that.
Bucio:Cuz you think about it like this, the police officer, you're coming off work.
Bucio:Where do you put your duty?
Bucio:or gun you're carrying, right?
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:A lot of guys, you want me in the cars or what if, but that's like,
Bucio:ah, it's in the back of your head.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:Can you leave it at the gym?
Bucio:Maybe If you had a first responder gym, you could mm-hmm.
Bucio:. Ah, great.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:You a special own key that no one else can have while you, you're working out.
Bucio:It'd
Vince:be so cool to have a gym that has a range.
Vince:. Oh, and a smoothie bar.
Vince:Yeah,
Bucio:of course.
Bucio:You see a guy, it was like Jim Short the smoothie and the rifle.
Bucio:Where you going?
Bucio:I'm America.
Bucio:I'm gonna go for a swim.
Bucio:With your rifle.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Why?
Vince:Go Navy rock
Bucio:climbing.
Bucio:That'd be sweet.
Bucio:Rock climbing.
Bucio:I love rock climbing.
Bucio:That's sweet.
Bucio:That's something I don't think I've ever told you.
Bucio:No,
Vince:you never told
Bucio:me that.
Bucio:It's kind of hard now, dude.
Bucio:No, it's . Nah, I think it's great.
Bucio:A lot of upper body and and lower body work that that's hard.
Bucio:Yeah, but that's good.
Vince:What is your outlet?
Vince:You know?
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:As you listen to the show, what do you guys do?
Vince:Or gals, you know, what is it that you find yourself?
Vince:What's a hobby or what's
Bucio:a workout?
Bucio:You like work workout style stuff.
Vince:You know?
Vince:What is your mental.
Vince:Yes.
Vince:What do you do after a chef?
Vince:A hard day.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:They get you back on track.
Vince:And we hope it's not the bad habits.
Vince:We hope it's not.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Finding the bottom of the bottle, you know, it's more so.
Vince:The bottom of the water bottle.
Vince:Cause you just spent two and a half dollars at the gym.
Vince:Right?
Vince:Right.
Vince:Yeah.
Bucio:We're not against the, the liquor and the cocktails, but we
Bucio:just don't want it to consume you.
Bucio:Exactly.
Bucio:You know, we want it to have like, eh, I had one Sure.
Bucio:Right.
Bucio:With a cigar or we do it here socially.
Bucio:Oh
Vince:yeah.
Vince:You know, it's all about the social.
Vince:I
Bucio:think I only drink socially.
Bucio:I don't think anything.
Bucio:Yeah,
Vince:you haven't really been social for like two months.
Vince:But it wasn't my fault . Anyway, that's a whole different
Bucio:story.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:What, what is why don't you give us a, send us a message, maybe comment
Bucio:on one of our posts with, we'll post something up and then just tell us
Bucio:what your hobby is or what your outlet is, you know, what do you like to do?
Bucio:Maybe you'll find someone on there that does something that
Bucio:you like and there you go.
Bucio:Right.
Bucio:Talk to someone else or try something new.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:That's a big thing.
Vince:You know, I just realized I forgot I had to call.
Vince:Call him back.
Bucio:Oh, is that him?
Bucio:No, that's not him.
Bucio:Oh.
Bucio:Answer it
Vince:anyways.
Vince:Spam.
Vince:Yeah, let's put the spam on Telemarket.
Bucio:You have to have insurance.
Vince:Wouldn't that be funny?
Vince:Old?
Vince:Yeah, that would be funny.
Bucio:I've been getting a lot of those spam calls nonstop.
Vince:It's it's nonsense.
Bucio:Ridiculous.
Bucio:It's crazy.
Bucio:Yeah.
Bucio:At this point I just mess with him as much as I can.
Bucio:Bad.
Bucio:But
Vince:imagine how cool it would be if you were getting like calls from us.
Vince:Hey, hey, we're checking in.
Vince:See how you doing?
Vince:Or Hey, we got a new episode.
Vince:Hey, don't good.
Vince:You know, the challenge, you know, like a little you get those
Vince:text updates, like inspirational quotes, like other organization.
Vince:I know.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:I have something.
Vince:I know they do it pretty, pretty regularly, which is kind of
Vince:pretty, I got something similar.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:Yeah.
Vince:That'd be kind of cool if you were able to progress into that side of the world.
