  • The dramatic shift of Yoga Alliance
  • Yoga Alliance did not use to acknowledge online training as accredited
  • Yes, we do not use Zoom
  • As a teacher, did you ever consider your ROI for the trainings you went through?
  • Yoga Alliance is a registration based association, it is not a certifying body
  • Think of Yoga Alliance as the “unofficial governing body of yoga"
  • You do not have to be registered with Yoga Alliance to teach yoga
  • Our next series will be “Stuff Yoga Teachers Say” sponsored by Jayne

Yoga Alliance Requirements for Online Yoga Teacher Trainings

  1. They must be on a Learning Management System (LMS) platform. Ours are.
  2. They must be completed by September 30, 2020. Ours will.
  3. The online training should have closed captions. Ours do.

Our 200-hr and 300-hr teacher trainings exceed YA requirements

  1. YA says that online training can be perfumed in a group format. Ours are private, one on one.
  2. Our training platform offers you unlimited lifetime access to the training material.
  3. You receive 30 half hours of private training (for the 300-hr) or 20 half hours (for the 200-hr) throughout the time, to make sure you are getting the most out of your online training.
  4. You have unlimited email access to get answers for any and all of your questions during the training.
  5. You receive three months of private mentorship after you complete the training in order to help you successfully implement everything you have learned in your professional and / or personal yogic / ayurvedic life

Future Considerations

  • Will studios be able to afford to reduce their class size to meet the new requirements?
  • And will studios be able to follow the “disinfecting” compliance requirements?
  • Is there possibly going to be another "us against them" yoga gang mentality? This time between studios who open and studios who are staying closed.
  • History has taught us that patterns replicate.
  • A lot of yoga studios will not reopen.
  • It will take a strong willed yoga teacher to go against the herd mentality.
  • You are going to see more outdoor yoga, and boutique style yoga with a lot more student oriented care.
  • Even though there is going to be a lot more yoga teachers, it is the end of the era of the rockstar yoga teacher.
  • To adapt is to thrive.
