Learn From Successful People – Wisdom Unplugged
Wisdom – the final frontier to true knowledge. Welcome to Wisdom-Trek where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.
Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1250 of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Brian Tracy, and it is, “If you could find out what the most successful people did in any area and then you did the same thing over and over, you’d eventually get the same result they do.”
Learn From Successful People
Success is not a mystery or luck. Success in any area of life is based on a lifestyle of disciplined habits repeated over and over in a particular area of your life. When you find a person who is truly successful in any area of their life where you would like to be successful, then make it a habit to observe them and learn from them until you can also repeat with regularity the practices and habits that have made them successful.
In order to ensure success, though, you do need to understand that in order to achieve success, you must be willing to work and sacrifice for a similarly extended period of time that the person you are learning from did. You need to understand the trade-offs and compromises that allowed that person to be successful. You need to honestly ask yourself, am I willing to do the same, and how would that impact all the other areas of my life. There is always a trade-off. There are always compromises that must be made. For every decision or choice that you say yes to, then you are by default saying no to many other choices that you could have made.
A final word of caution, when you observe a person who appears to be successful, observe them over an extended period of time and in all facets of their lives. Many people who appear to be successful in one particular area of their lives may have sacrificed other areas of life where you are not willing to do so. Success covers not only financial success, but the more important parts of life such as spiritual, family, and other close relationships, emotional, and physical. It is possible to be successful in all areas of life, but it will usually be the result of sacrificing what you desire now, for what you desire most. Are you willing to pay that price?
