Yolanda Russo takes us on a lively journey through the world of skincare and aging, flipping the script on what it means to grow older. With a dash of humor and a ton of encouragement, she emphasizes that aging isn't an enemy but a challenge we can tackle head-on.
The vibrant conversation revolves around the N.O.P.E formula (Nutrition, Oxygen, Posture, Exercise), which Yolanda breaks down with charm and wit. We learn that nutrition isn't just about eating greens, but about fueling our bodies with the right stuff to keep our cells thriving. Oxygen? Yeah, it's not just important for staying alive, it's vital for our skin's health!
Yolanda also emphasizes the importance of posture and how just the way we carry ourselves can affect our facial appearance. With a playful nudge, she reminds us that our faces have muscles too! By exercising these muscles, we can maintain a youthful glow.
And if you're wondering how to get started, Yolanda shares her Face Rehab™ Online Classes, where she guides us through the steps to restore our skin's natural glow from the comfort of our homes. So, let's get ready to laugh, learn, and lift our spirits as we embrace aging on our own terms!

Welcome to youo Face Story podcast.
Speaker A:Your host, Yolanda Russo, European skincare expert and creator of Beauty on Command, wants to know, what is your face story?
Speaker A:Is it breaking out?
Speaker A:Is it dry?
Speaker A:Is it sagging?
Speaker A:Yolanda offers practical, educational and encouraging content, saving you time and money when looking for ways to look younger.
Speaker A:Naturally,.
Speaker B:Aging isn't something happening to you.
Speaker B:It's something you either feed or starve every single second of the day.
Speaker B:Aging, we've got it all backwards.
Speaker B:Most of us treat it like something that happens to us or worse, something that we are aiming for or working towards.
Speaker B:Think about it.
Speaker B:How many people can't wait to retire so they can finally do nothing?
Speaker B:And I know you know many, especially men who retired and then they showed immediate decline in health, in well being, in relationships, social life.
Speaker B:Yes, that.
Speaker B:That's what happens.
Speaker B:Doing nothing is the fastest way to age, not the reward at the end.
Speaker B:It's the risk itself.
Speaker B:Here's what's actually happening in the body.
Speaker B:Aging is in some slow, inevitable decline.
Speaker B:You're stuck watching.
Speaker B:It's what happens when your body stops getting the impulses, the resources it needs to keep going, the purpose to get up and go.
Speaker B:That's it.
Speaker B:That's the whole thing.
Speaker B:And this isn't just me saying it.
Speaker B:Gary Breca, a human biologist, puts it this way.
Speaker B:Aging is an aggressive pursuit of comfort.
Speaker B:Isn't that the truth?
Speaker B:That's what we are thinking, that the retirement is going to give us the comfort.
Speaker B:So don't look for comfort, please.
Speaker B:Just start putting effort, putting demand on your muscles, demand on your mind, demand on your body.
Speaker B:Even if you have to find a hobby to aim for retirement and then go into the hobby that you have always wanted, wanted to do.
Speaker B:So I want you to put the effort in it.
Speaker B:Dr. David Sinclair, he's a Harvard researcher, he's calling aging as a treatable condition.
Speaker B:He says if you can prevent illness, you can prevent the aging.
Speaker B:And many of us now are thinking, okay, but, well, it's heredity that is involved in that.
Speaker B:Well, unfortunately we are wrong because genetics have very little to do with aging and skin aging for that matter too.
Speaker B:Less than 20% or maybe even less is genetics.
Speaker B:But 80 plus percent is in our hands.
Speaker B:It's our lifestyle and environment and people we hang out with, people we surround ourselves with each day, the news we hear.
Speaker B:So make sure you are surrounded by positive news, positive people and the nature.
Speaker B:If you need to reset your nervous system, Mother Nature is free and ready for you anytime you are ready.
Speaker B:So we are living in times in the moment of, I don't know, human history, that we're going through, human upgrades, Dr. Sinclair actually put a clinical trial, FDA trial, and he got the clearance to run first human trial testing whether age reversal is even possible.
Speaker B:So we'll see about that.
Speaker B:But that's a very bold move, isn't it?
Speaker B:And he proves this by himself.
Speaker B:If you watch Dr. Sinclair from before COVID he looks a little chubby, he looks a little older.
Speaker B:He looks like his age, he's a little shorter.
Speaker B:Australian guy.
Speaker B:But he went on his mission to prove that aging is reversible.
Speaker B:So now when you look at him, he looks so much younger.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:He takes supplements, he exercises, he stopped eating, he has some kind of diet that is crazy to follow.
Speaker B:I think intermittent fasting.
Speaker B:That's what he's implementing.
Speaker B:So with all that, he's proving that aging is reversible.
Speaker B:So that's what I want you to know.
Speaker B:So think of it as a bonus.
Speaker B:What we gonna do with this in our lifetime, we don't know, but we can certainly try.
Speaker B:And this is what I'm here for.
Speaker B:I have.
Speaker B:Based on this, I have developed a system for myself.
Speaker B:And I'm teaching my clients in a facial room.
Speaker B:It's called N, O, P, E, Short four letters that define your whole day, your whole scope of wellness, of happiness, of.
Speaker B:Of purpose.
Speaker B:N stands for nutrition.
Speaker B:O stands for oxygen.
Speaker B:P is posture.
Speaker B:E is exercise, movement.
Speaker B:And that's what we are going to be talking about.
Speaker B:I have created a virtual facial room now.
Speaker B:It's called face rehab, where I teach the N, O, P, E and the application of it to.
Speaker B:To your face.
Speaker B:Because the letter E is exercise, is movement, it's moving the lymphatic.
Speaker B:And at the same time, it's exercising your face too.
Speaker B:Somehow at some point in life, we have to realize that our face has muscles too, and they need to move.
Speaker B:If they don't naturally, everything is going to slack off.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:So when you look at your reflection in a mirror and you don't like what you see, just follow my.
Speaker B:Nope.
Speaker B:And let me just finish with this so you can.
Speaker B:You can hear me.
Speaker B:And then maybe you can apply this yourself to your own life.
Speaker B:And search for my face rehab classes as well.
Speaker B:So N is nutrition.
Speaker B:That's the first.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:Now, each second, millions of our cells are dying off, literally.
Speaker B:And millions are being born to replace them.
Speaker B:And somehow, some way, we have to help those healthy cells to move out, to shed off the dying cells.
Speaker B:Sometimes this takes a little longer when you're.
Speaker B:When your Immunity is not as strong.
Speaker B:Sometimes you need to move your body a little bit more.
Speaker B:The lymphatic system is one of those cleanup crews that, that takes away whatever it's not needed under the skin.
Speaker B:So the blood circulation is next.
Speaker B:But for everything to happen efficiently, you need to nutrify your body.
Speaker B:You need to drink enough water.
Speaker B:The raw material that comes from fresh fruits and veggies, especially organic and the colorful, the bright colored fruits and veggies, mineral salts as well.
Speaker B:That's very important.
Speaker B:They have lots of raw material for our cells to do what they need to do.
Speaker B:And I have to say this because I get asked constantly, is collagen powder worth taking?
Speaker B:Yes or no?
Speaker B:Yes, you can't hurt yourself with that.
Speaker B:But no, you can't count on this to produce collagen for your body or your skin.
Speaker B:It takes a while before your liver breaks this down into raw material, which is amino acids, before your body can use it.
Speaker B:So their raw foods and organic foods are actually a better source.
Speaker B:And if you are a meat eater, that's another source.
Speaker B:But fish is another source.
Speaker B:So yes, just research the nutrition, what is good for, for body and just supply it.
Speaker B:That's all what you need to do.
Speaker B:So every morning for breakfast you need to have some antioxidants.
Speaker B:The blueberries are the best source of antioxidants, fibers and all dark colored vitamins.
Speaker B:Okay, so that is the nutrition.
Speaker B:First breakfast, then for lunch.
Speaker B:Focus on nutrition as well and at the dinner time as well.
Speaker B:So nutrition has to be going through the whole day.
Speaker B:Include water in that nutrition because that's part of it.
Speaker B:Now oxygen is the letter O in my N O P E formula.
Speaker B:Here's something wild.
Speaker B:Most of us breathe shallow all day long.
Speaker B:We never even notice.
Speaker B:You don't notice your chest or your stomach goes up and down.
Speaker B:You never do.
Speaker B:You actually train it to stay put so it doesn't disturb your peace or concentration for that matter.
Speaker B:You attend to so many things during the day that you can't really relax and allow your body to, to do what it needs to do.
Speaker B:And this might be why you're tired by the end of the day.
Speaker B:You're holding your breath, you're holding the.
Speaker B:The toxins that are being produced in the body from the hormonal breakdown from food break metabolism and stresses.
Speaker B:So all that is definitely needs to be exhaled.
Speaker B:So one best way that I know to help yourself to bring enough oxygen to your cells so they can function properly, so you can feel better, so you can, your mood can be shifted is to each morning, when the sun rises each morning, have your coffee outside, go and stand on the lawn with bare feet.
Speaker B:Gaze into the horizon, not at your phone because that's important.
Speaker B:You need to gaze into horizon.
Speaker B:It could be 2 minutes, 5 minutes if you can.
Speaker B:It doesn't have to be long, but for 20 minutes be exposed to the morning sunlight.
Speaker B:It's a blue light that gives us energy.
Speaker B:And not only that it gives us energy, but it stimulate the circadian rhythm to start producing vitamin D. That's the only vitamin that is produced by our body itself, Vitamin D. So at that time you will definitely take few deep breaths in you can hold.
Speaker B:I like to hold that breath and exhale.
Speaker B:So do this as much as you can because you're gaining the power back into your body, back into your cells, so it can last you throughout the day.
Speaker B:So that is what my trick for the oxygen, for the release of stresses, for bringing the neutrality to our cells is.
Speaker B:So I hope you follow that.
Speaker B:I hope you, you can alter that.
Speaker B:But 20 minutes outside morning in the sunrise light, the blue light and 20 minutes in a sunset light, which is orange light.
Speaker B:It's also pretty critical, if you can, would be ideal.
Speaker B:You will sleep really good because that orange light doesn't give you the energy like you get from the morning light, the blue light, the night light, the sunlight gives you orange light which is stimulating melatonin, your own melatonin.
Speaker B:So release.
Speaker B:So that's why you're going to sleep a little bit better, more peaceful.
Speaker B:The posture, that's a P in our formula.
Speaker B:Think about your head.
Speaker B:What is it doing all day long?
Speaker B:It's always leaning down, right?
Speaker B:You're looking at the phone, checking your text messages, checking, swiping the, the social media or other media.
Speaker B:And you always busy.
Speaker B:Your head is always compressing that the.
Speaker B:For the neck on the front and it's stretching the muscles on the back of the neck.
Speaker B:That's about 6 to 10 pounds of weight that is always hanging on you on that poor neck.
Speaker B:So inevitably you will get double chin.
Speaker B:That's first.
Speaker B:Second of all the lymphatic nodes that are plenty.
Speaker B:There is like so many lymph, lymph nodes in your neck and jawline, right under the jawline that they get stuck.
Speaker B:They can't, they can't function, they can't flow evenly.
Speaker B:So if they can't do the, the, the cleanup, you will definitely feel tired.
Speaker B:You will definitely feel you're swollen.
Speaker B:You're just like puffy.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:And the neck on the back, that's gonna be uncomfortable because you're gonna hurt.
Speaker B:So when you feel that, simply lie down, stretch your back, have your head erect.
Speaker B:Just keep it, push it down a little bit.
Speaker B:If you can lie down on the edge of the couch and push the head just a little bit slightly backwards, let it hang.
Speaker B:That's how you're going to stretch the, the area and help yourself to go back in balance, help yourself to go back online.
Speaker B:And that's how you keep your body healthy, but also keep your body rested, energized, because the energy flows through your spine.
Speaker B:The spine begins at the butt area and it goes, travels all the way to your brain.
Speaker B:And finally, exercise.
Speaker B:E is for exercise.
Speaker B:Somehow, some ways we go to the gym, we tone our body.
Speaker B:We now know that we need to move in order for, to keep our body strong.
Speaker B:But somehow nobody ever told us that our face has muscles too.
Speaker B:We don't move any of those muscles in the neck and in our face.
Speaker B:And There is about 50 muscles in our face, those little tiny muscles that needs precision to move.
Speaker B:We don't move them.
Speaker B:So ultimately they will sag.
Speaker B:They will just be starved for nutrition because they don't get the nutrition that they need, that they don't get the hydration that they need from the blood vessels that are surrounding each cell.
Speaker B:If I mention that there is approximately 60,000 miles of blood vessels in our body, imagine that, 60,000.
Speaker B:That's how oxygen and nutrients actually reach our cells.
Speaker B:So if you starve those cells, yeah, you're not, you're never gonna get that healthy vitality, especially when it comes to the skin, because the skin is the last organ to get it first.
Speaker B:You're gonna, your body is going to protect your vital organ.
Speaker B:So if you don't have enough nutrition in your body, it will only give to the organs that are essential.
Speaker B:If you don't have enough water, of course, your, your heart, your liver, your other parts that are essential will get it, but not your skin.
Speaker B:So when you think you drink a cup of water and you just had enough, think again.
Speaker B:You might be just having wrinkles right on the skin because of that.
Speaker B:So here is my work that comes in.
Speaker B:I created a virtual facial room online.
Speaker B:So I teach classes now on how to massage the face so that the face, the skin that attaches to the muscles, literally can be looking healthy, vibrant and radiant at any time.
Speaker B:It doesn't matter how old you are, because as long as you are healthy, as long as you nutrify your body, give the antioxidants and the raw material that it needs, and that includes water.
Speaker B:There is no reason you should have wrinkles.
Speaker B:And the collagen boosting happens immediately.
Speaker B:As soon as you start putting a demand on the muscle with the massaging, with the right way of massaging, I don't want you to tug the skin.
Speaker B:I don't want you to stretch, overly stretch.
Speaker B:I don't want you to over exfoliate.
Speaker B:None of it is healthy for the skin.
Speaker B:It strips the skin.
Speaker B:It causes micro tears too.
Speaker B:So make sure the resources that you're searching for and if you're following online, are reputable.
Speaker B:Okay, so that's what my face rehab classes are going to give you.
Speaker B:They are going to support you and keep you safe and keep you sane.
Speaker B:Because by now, many of you come to my facial room with gadgets that you bought and you don't even know how to use them.
Speaker B:So I'm glad you're asking me how to use them and are they really necessary because I don't want you to use them in a wrong way.
Speaker B:So there we go.
Speaker B:That's what I wanted to say about my formula for life.
Speaker B:And once you learn it, this is a lifetime skill.
Speaker B:That includes the face massage that we are learning.
Speaker B:That's a lifetime skill.
Speaker B:If you look in the mirror from now on after you learn this, you can't possibly say you don't know what to do.
Speaker B:You are a victim to aging.
Speaker B:You can't possibly say that because I've given you everything you need in that condensed episode right now.
Speaker B:And then you have that formula and you have my classes that you can definitely drop in at any time and learn what you need.
Speaker B:So here's what I want you to walk away with.
Speaker B:Aging isn't something happening to you.
Speaker B:It's something you either feed or starve every single second of the day.
Speaker B:So make sure you deliver enough of nutrition, hydration, oxygen.
Speaker B:You keep your body straight and exercise.
Speaker B:Move your body.
Speaker B:So to sum it up, aging is inevitable.
Speaker B:I know that, and we all know that we can't stop the clock.
Speaker B:But how you age, that part is entirely up to you.
Speaker B:You can actually age in the reverse.
Speaker B:So that's how I'm gonna end this episode with.
Speaker B:So until the next time, thanks for.
Speaker A:Listening and we'll see you in the next episode.
Speaker A:Don't forget to subscribe and share it with your friends.
