A free spirit, by Webster's definition, is an independent or uninhibited person who thinks and acts without worrying about social rules — individualist, nonconformist, original, eccentric, the lone wolf, the outsider. The opposite is someone who follows every rule, plans everything, and upholds all the pressure society puts on them. To be a free spirit, you have to be willing to break expectations. But how do you break expectations living in a world of followers — a bunch of sheep laying lazy in a pasture waiting to be led? Are you being led to get your wool shaved off, or headed to slaughter to be served up on a plate as the star of the next barbecue? Know thyself. Balance your energy.
