Shownotes

The UK government's Childhood Obesity Plan was launched in 2017, aiming to significantly reduce England's childhood obesity rate over the next ten years.

The plan wants the food and drink industry to cut sugar in products by 5 percent, although ultimately targets a 20 percent reduction; health experts, campaigners and MPs have criticised the plan for not going far enough. The UK Labour Party was particularly unimpressed with the Plan, and to discuss this, we're joined by Labour MP Sharon Hodgson, Shadow Minister for Public Health.
