When we launch something new, we often expect it to be perfect the first time.

Have you ever been in that situation? I know I have.
Sumantha::
Where you are overthinking, where you are trying to get every single detail perfect.
Sumantha::
I mean, I'm terrible for it when it comes to anything. Related to imagery.
Sumantha::
So it could be even a social media post on Canva.
Sumantha::
It could be something like my website. It's such a time drain.
Sumantha::
But something I learned very recently was for the first time, I took really fast action.
Sumantha::
Within 24 hours, I'd created something new and within 72 hours I was selling it.
Sumantha::
And it didn't mean that I took shortcuts to be fair.
Sumantha::
I was able to do that because I had an existing offer that I was improving.
Sumantha::
So I wasn't doing everything from scratch.
Sumantha::
But something I learned was that by going a touch faster, so I don't mean faster in a way where you are rushing through something and you're feeling overwhelmed.

I just mean not giving myself space to be. Overwhelmed or to overthink basically, or to get really stuck on small details.

I found that by doing that, I actually got better results because I wasn't focusing on the very small things that don't make a huge impact.

I was focusing on the bigger things that are more important because I had limited time,
Sumantha::
and so something I think that's really important when you're a business owner, when you are self-employed, even if you're a freelancer, but you are in charge of what you offer,

is to treat everything like an experiment.
Sumantha::
The first version of your offer, your message, your group, class, whatever it might be.
Sumantha::
It's just that it's a first version or maybe it's a fourth version, but it doesn't have to ever really be final.

I once ages ago, ran a program that I thought had to be set in stone, and I felt really under pressure because there were certain elements I didn't like and I wasn't feeling very confident to change it because I already had clients working through it.
Sumantha::
I got to a point where I just had to, I just knew it wasn't sustainable for me, so I gave myself permission to adapt.
Sumantha::
And when I did, everything improved.
Sumantha::
I was delivering a much better service because I was more relaxed, I had more head space, and so my clients benefited from it as well.
Sumantha::
So your audience. They're not watching for perfection.
Sumantha::
I mean, how many times do you analyze someone's offer or website or post or whatever it might be looking for? Tiny imperfections.
Sumantha::
You don't do you? So other people aren't necessarily looking at us like that.
Sumantha::
But your audience, they are watching for consistency, for care and value.
Sumantha::
They are looking at how you show up so that they can connect with you.
Sumantha::
So instead of asking yourself, did I get this right? Did I get it perfect?
Sumantha::
Ask yourself, what can I learn from this? What's a small tweak I can make?
Sumantha::
Am I working on things and getting bogged down with things that actually don't make a huge impact?
Sumantha::
Because your first idea doesn't have to be the final one. It doesn't have to be perfection. It can keep evolving.
