Summary:

The gift of tongues is the source of prayer. Are your prayers, what you desire? Or is the Holy Spirit speaking to you saying, "This is what I want you to pray for."

Show Notes:

  • A lot of times I don't know how to pray for somebody. How do I pray? I pray in tongues.

  • You can speak in tongues, and you will create awesome things because it's the Holy Spirit speaking through you.

  • We have to go before the Lord in intimacy and have Him speak to our hearts and hear His voice.

  • We do not speak what we think God wants. We speak what He's speaking. It takes perception and intimacy with the Holy Spirit.

Quotes:

  • When we have that focus on what God wants, and it's God's kingdom. That's a wonderful thing.

  • It's not important to understand with your mind. What was important is you take the gift of His Spirit in you, and you connect that to His spirit. And that's what He's looking for.

  • I like to envision when I pray in tongues, or when we're praying in tongues, as a group, that we're holding up a person, or a group of people into the throne room into His presence, and creating the atmosphere for them.

Scriptural References:

John 5:19 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say into you. The son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth the Father doing: for what things soever He doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner.

The Day of Pentecost...

Takeaway:

Tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit in us that brings down the barriers of communication between us and the Father. Tongues may be in different forms. It is always a form of communication in the spirit.

Dale

What's the source of your prayer? Is the source of your prayer, your desires, what you want, what you think the kingdom of God should be? Or is the Holy Spirit speaking to you saying, "this is what I want you to pray for." I think that comes with that level of maturity. And that I think it also comes with a focus because Satan's going to hit that focus as hard as he can. And he's going to distract you with all kinds of things, good things or bad things. When we have that focus on what God wants, and it's God's kingdom. That's a wonderful thing. And that's a relief. Now, you're no longer responsible for your own thoughts and thinking, you have the thinking of the Father, saying, "you're My son, let's go to work."

Ron

I've been actually trying to put this in practice, but it's been praying in the Spirit.

Dale

I fall on tongues. Yep, in your mind, and in, so many times, you just get so frustrated. And they're there again. Well, what do I say, God gave us a tool. He gave us a spirit. And He gave us a voice. He gives that language that tongues that we're talking about I'm talking about is not the tongues of an of a language of another country, or another place is the language of the spirit, the language that God speaks. He understands your heart, because you, your spirit, and your heart project when you're speaking in tongues, right, on that level. What you're projecting is what He put in your heart, and you don't understand it with your mind. It's not important to understand with your mind. What was important is you take the gift of His Spirit in you, and you connect that to His spirit. And that's what He's looking for.

Ron

The perception of tongues, and the Holy Spirit, I think have been diluted and put down. If you think about the Holy Spirit is hugely powerful. And so I don't think that you have to prophesy with your mind to create awesome things. You can speak in tongues, and you will create awesome things because it's the Holy Spirit speaking through you.

Dale

But a lot of times I don't know how to pray for somebody. So how do I pray? I pray in tongues. On some of the Zoom meetings we're on people are putting out prayer requests. And I may not know that person, how do I pray? I pray in tongues in the spirit, speaking that language that God has created for us to convey in the spirit.

Ceasar

I don't know why, but I've been speaking in tongues like never before. There's a different flow. Regarding prophecy, I remember that we must be so attuned to the spirit, that we do not speak what we think God wants. But we will speak what He's, He's speaking what He's saying. That takes a lot of perception of intimacy with the Holy Spirit with the Father.

Ron

So how do you do that and all faith and practicality? I'm aligning my mind. I'm aligning my spirit. I'm alining my emotions. I'm aligning myself when I speak in tongues. And then if the Holy Spirit brings something to, to light to prophesy, I'm already in the flow of the Holy Spirit. I'm not thinking about it. I'm not conjuring it up in my mind. I'm already moving in the Holy Spirit. So I agree with you, Cesar. I've been using tongues like never before.

Dale

I like what you said. Cesar, at the beginning of what you're saying because what you were talking about is the preparation that you go through in order to be effective in speaking in tongues. It's like we spend the time before the throne. We spend our time waiting on the Lord if we want to use that term. Even there's a contending with Him. Many times that that it's not easy to spend time and looking to the Lord for leading. It can be a battle because that's that's what Satan wants to stop. The born-again in are born from above colony that is established here on the earth has a different way of walking before the Lord. Christ spent a lot of time in the garden of Gethsemane and a lot of time by Himself. And I think that's what He was doing. He was drawing from the Father, what the Father wanted Him to do, because He said, I only do that which I see the Father do. That's what we're being taught to do. Right.

Trish

I like to envision when I pray in tongues, or when we're praying in tongues, as a group, that we're holding up a person, or a group of people into the throne room into His presence, and creating the atmosphere for them. Because that's where it's all going to happen. If we just keep being at atmosphere and holding each other in His presence, then we're giving them the opportunity for these things to start flowing into their spirit more, and then into their souls. And then it's going to start coming into our bodies too.

Jim

This discussion that we've had just in the last two or three minutes kind of answers that big question. Why doesn't the church move in the authority or more more authority? We have to know more who we are. Like Cesar says, We have to go before the Lord in intimacy, and have Him speak to our hearts hear His voice. That question can almost be a question out of the brain. Why does this happen? Why does it that happen? Maybe that's because that's, that's because your brain is involved. Maybe we have maybe we need to go before Him in intimacy and have Him pull the veil off of our eyes, see what question we really should be asking.

Ron

It's not the words that you speak. But it's the Spirit, that ministers. That's what we're talking about is I think we're dropping a lot of baggage. Our approach is become more simplified. I know for me, the gift of tongues is becoming way more important than I ever thought it would. And it's because it's it disengages my brain, which is usually the greatest battleground that I have. And so it disengages that and allows my spirit to be free and allows the Holy Spirit to move through me. Yes, my brain goes, are you accomplishing anything? Well, yes, I'm probably accomplishing more than I could ever even think to accomplish if I tried to do it, in my brain or in my flesh. I'm opening up and I'm letting the Holy Spirit move through me. And I think, honestly, as we dwell in that, and dwell in Christ, dwell in the Father, however you do it, that's where the power is going to come. Where's the power? It's in the Father, it's in His presence. That's where the power is.

Dale

Do you realize that you can speak in tongues without opening your mouth or uttering a noise?

Ron

Do it all the time.

Dale

And see, that's the level that He's looking for. What you're saying is, it's a Spirit to spirit connection. There's a tremendous amount of simplicity in God. And I think he had me in mind when he say did some of these things and taught us

Ceasar

Voicing faith is key. You're voice must be heard. I remember my my, my sister, she had a very serious lung problem. She spent most of her life in hospitals, and she had a device attached to her throat where she couldn't speak. And she said, what bothered her the most was that she couldn't pray, even to speak in tongues, she had to do it in her mind, and that bothered her a lot. It's different when you voice it. There's something was uttered that living thing needed that that expression!
