What’s it mean to be too nice?
We get ourselves in tricky situations when we’re not honest.
It's hard telling the truth and being honest at all times. We get ourselves into situations that could have easily been avoided if we were upfront in the very beginning. I (Meg) think that stems from not wanting to let anyone down. Growing up, I just wanted to make everyone happy. I was a "fixer" and thought I could fix everyone at all times. I would tell half truths if it meant the other person wouldn't get hurt and in the end it bit me in the butt and to this day it still does from time to time.
We go through real life examples including:
-A time Meg got into a fight with the CEO of her first internship
-When Sam was in a band and had to let his ego go to salvage relationships
-When Meg stood up to someone above her at work and put her career on the line by telling the truth
-At home conflicts and situations that we’re both working on
