Shownotes
In this episode, Matthew meets David Smith, Head of Standards and Governance for ATPCO – an organization that collects and distributes airline product data.
David is also a member of the Society for Standards Professionals (SES), a not-for-profit professional membership society based in the United States, dedicated to furthering the knowledge and use of standards.
Matthew speaks to David about some of the relationship between the airline industry, airline data and the use of standards, as well as his membership of SES.
But they also talk about Laurel and Hardy, the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, running in airports, music, lucky fish, and an 8-year-old girl called Vanessa.
And sandwiched in the middle of Matthew’s two-part conversation with David there's a Standards Desk of News, with items on the new UK AI Standards Hub and the European Standardization Strategy.
