In this episode of "A Changed Mind," David Bayer explores the concept of Reality Transurfing, a framework developed by Russian quantum physicist Vadim Zeland. David explains how multiple versions of your reality already exist and that true change comes from shifting your identity, not just your actions.

David outlines a practical three-step process: defining your key goals, taking an honest inventory of the habits and beliefs holding you back, and adopting the mindset and behaviors of your desired future self now.

Memorable Quotes

“Who you are is actually a choice. It may be who you’ve been up until now, and because it’s who you’ve been, you’ve accumulated evidence that compels you to believe this is who you are—but that doesn’t mean it’s who you have to continue being.”
“Most of us believe, ‘I’ll feel relaxed when I make the money. I’ll feel confident when I find the relationship. I’ll stop worrying when the business becomes successful.’ In other words, we think the result allows the identity, but we’ve gotten the entire process backwards.”
“You don’t become that person after you create the result; you create the result by becoming that person first.”

David:

What if I told you that somewhere right now, there is a version of you already living the life that you're trying so hard to create? A version of you who has the money, the relationships, the health, the business, the freedom, the peace of mind. And the only reason you haven't created that version of reality yet is because you're trying to create it while operating from the wrong version of you. There's a fascinating concept called Reality Transurfing. It was developed by a former Russian quantum physics researcher named Vadim Zeland. And Zeeland proposed that reality already exists across multiple dimensions where every potential version of you and every version of your life already exists. And according to Transurfing, you don't need to figure out how to get from your current reality to the reality that you want in some slow, linear way. You can effectively jump into that version of reality and begin living from it now. Now, I know how that sounds. It sounds like some new age crystal wielding magic trick where you magically manifest a Lamborghini by simply thinking hard enough about it. But here's what's fascinating. The deeper you look at behavioral psychology and neuroscience, even metaphysics, the less crazy this idea starts to sound. And the key to making it practical comes down to a simple process called identity shifting. So in this episode, I'm going to show you how to identify the version of you that's already living the reality that you want and how to begin thinking, feeling, and acting from that identity now. Because whether you call it Reality Transurfing quantum jumping, or simply identity shifting, the principle is the same. If you want to shift your reality, you have to stop trying to create your future from the identity that created your past. So let's get into it.

Welcome to A Changed Mind, a journey into the topics that matter to you most. From the neuroscience and spirituality of mindset and personal growth, to groundbreaking strategies for health, wealth, and relationships, to open and honest conversations about pressing global issues such as the environment, censorship, corporate and democracy. Each and every episode reminds us of the certainty of the goodness of the future and provides the teachings, tools, and timeless wisdom inspiring you to create real lasting change in your life and in the world. If you've been desiring a sanctuary for your spirit, a place to go to tune out the distraction, negativity, and doom and gloom so that you can tap into the deep power, the vibrancy, and the potential you have inside, you're in the right place. Welcome to A Changed Mind.

All right, guys. So Vadim Zeland was a Russian researcher in quantum physics who eventually wrote a series of books called Reality Transurfing. And the basic premise is actually pretty simple. Reality doesn't contain just one predetermined future. There are multiple potential versions of your life available from this present moment. And Transurfing says that rather than thinking exclusively in terms of creating the future you want through a slow linear progression, you can actually just hop into the timeline of the version of reality that has the things that you want. The soulmate, the bank account, the sports car, if that's your jam, the world-changing business. I like to call it quantum jumping. And there's an interesting metaphor for this in quantum physics. At the quantum level, A physical system that entertains multiple, sometimes infinite possibilities functions in a way that when that system is measured, you don't actually experience all of those possibilities. You get one definite outcome. And maybe you've heard of this. It's called the observer effect, where energy behaves in a very randomized way until it's observed. And then all of a sudden, the wave-like behavior of energy collapses into a very real, very specific physical particle form. Now, I'm not suggesting quantum mechanics proves that your thoughts magically collapse a Ferrari into your driveway. What I'm saying is that it gives us a really useful metaphor that from any present moment, there are an enormous number of possible futures, but you're only going to experience one unfolding path. And so the question is, what collapses the infinite dimensions that you can step into at any moment into the dimension that becomes your present reality? Now, if you've watched this show for any period of time, you've heard me talk about how your beliefs create your reality. We've talked about the law of attraction, the law of vibration. We've talked about how what you think and what you believe and what you feel creates a particular state or a specific frequency that is a broadcast of information and how life then organizes the circumstances and situations of your life to reflect back to you the quality of those thoughts and emotions through the experiences of your life. That's what we mean when we say that you create your own reality. But what we're doing today is putting all of that into an even deeper framework, because think about the sum total of all of your daily thoughts and where you put your attention and what you believe about money or yourself, what you believe about other people, what you believe about business and success and relationships and health and God and the global elite and the world around you. What you believe is possible for you and not possible for you. The sum total of all of that is what we could call your identity. We could also describe that as your consciousness. And it is that identity that is determining the dimension, or if you prefer, the channel that you're operating in. And that channel is going to continue reflecting that identity back to you. So if you want to shift the reality that you're experiencing, you have to shift The identity that's experiencing it, which brings us to the obvious question, how do you shift your identity? Because you might say, Dave, what do you mean? Like, this is who I am. But here's the thing. Who you are is actually a choice. It is a decision. It may be who you've been up until now. And because it's who you've been up until now, you've accumulated an enormous amount of evidence through your lived experience that compels you to continue believing that this is who you are, but that doesn't mean it's who you have to continue being. You can shift an identity. And I want to show you exactly how, because if there is something in your life that you want to shift, if there's an alternative dimension that you'd prefer to step into, you have to shift your identity. And identity shifting is one of the most complete, effective, powerful methods to achieve a quantum shift in your life that I've ever seen. So here's how it works. Step 1 is to identify what you want. That's the possibility that you want to make your reality. So by the way, if you're on the go, you can just walk through this framework with me in your mind and come back to write it down later. If you can write this down, I highly recommend it. But number 1 is to write down what do you want? And I want you to write down maybe 5 to 7 major goals. Maybe it's, I want to become financially free. I want to generate $1 million in my business. I want to have an extraordinary relationship with the person of my dreams. Maybe it is, I want to have absolute clarity on my purpose in the world, or I want extraordinary health. Whatever those goals are, write them down. That's step 1. Easy. Step 2, I want you to do something that most people never do. I want you to look at the version of you that's currently trying to achieve those goals. In other words, what's the identity that's trying to produce these outcomes? And I want you to focus on the beliefs, the thoughts, the feelings, and the habits that now don't serve you. In other words, the things that you're doing that are not in alignment with the results that you want to produce. I would call these the bad plays that you're currently running. What are the bad plays? You're going to make a list. This is step 2.

Maybe it is You procrastinate.

Maybe you're on your phone too much. Maybe you're drinking alcohol or smoking pot. Maybe you're a people pleaser or you're a control freak. Maybe you worry a lot or you're anxious a lot, or you feel overwhelmed a lot. I want you to pay particular attention to the character traits you might traditionally describe as character flaws. The negative emotional states that you experience, the limiting beliefs you have about everything that's required for you to succeed. Now, here's where you have to become rigorously honest. So I'll give you an example from my own life. One of the character traits or negative emotional states that I experience a lot, it's a habit, is worry. What I've realized is that at some level, I actually believe that worry is going to help me achieve my goals. So think about that. Why would I worry If some part of me didn't think there was a benefit to worrying. So some part of me believes if I worry about this enough, I'll figure it out. If I worry about this, I'll be able to anticipate problems. If I worry about this, I can prevent something from going wrong. So worry throughout most of my life was actually a play that I was running to try to create success, to try to achieve my goals. But can you create anything worthwhile from worry? Am I really operating at my best from worry? Worry, which is created for me by this fear of failure, then compels me to scroll on my phone or have another cup of coffee, or it used to drive me to drink or smoke pot or look at pornography. For many, many years, this was a part of my identity. So this is what I want you to analyze right now. What is the current identity doing that, you know, doesn't serve you well? It doesn't feel well. I mean, we all look at our lives and we're like, you know what? I should do this less, or I should do this more, but I'm not doing it more. What are those things? And do an inventory. That's part 2. Another bad play that I would run was based off the belief that I had to work really hard to make money. So that was a bad play. I believed that I had to do things perfectly and not make any mistakes if I wanted to achieve my goals. That was a bad play. So this is what I believed was required of me. This is who I believed I needed to be. And this is where I want you to take an inventory of yourself. What is it that you believe? How is it that you feel? What is it that you're doing that has become a habit? It has become your identity that isn't in alignment with the person you'd need to be to produce your 5 to 7 goals. And just notice that there's a part of you that thinks that you'll actually achieve your goals by behaving this way, even though When you and I take a moment to look at it together, it's clear that's not the case. In fact, it's almost 100% certain that you won't produce the results that you want if you keep being this person. That's step number 2. Step number 3, let's take those same goals and assume that they've already been accomplished. You already made the million dollars. You already became financially free. You've already met the person of your dreams. You've already built the business. You've already discovered your purpose. It's done. Step 3 is we're going to write out the qualities, the same qualities, the beliefs, the thoughts, the feelings, the habits, the version of you that you would be if you had already achieved these goals would be experiencing. How would that person approach problems? What decisions would that person make? How would that person show up every day? Because here's where it starts to get really interesting. If I had already made $1 million, would I be worrying about whether I could make $1 million? Would I be worrying about doing things perfectly? Would I feel overwhelmed or fear around money? No, of course not. That version of me would feel relaxed, confident, at ease. I'd make decisions and I'd trust that if something else needed to be done to produce an outcome, I'd realize it and I'd make adjustments to my decisions. I'd walk into a room and I wouldn't feel insecure about myself. I'd slow down. And enjoy my day-to-day life because I would've already achieved my goals. I'd be present for my family, not all caught up, worried about money or my health or success if I had already achieved it. And here's where the whole game changes. This is the unlock, guys, because most of us believe I'll feel relaxed when I make the money. I'll feel confident when I find the relationship. I'll stop worrying when the business becomes successful, or I'll feel abundant when I become financially free. In other words, We think the result allows the identity, but we've gotten the entire process backwards. If you start living as that future version of you now, the results become a natural byproduct of that identity. Think about it. If you committed to thinking like a healthy person, feeling like a healthy person, and acting like a healthy person, wouldn't it just be a matter of time before you were a healthy person? If you practiced thinking like a rich person, feeling like a rich person, acting like a rich person, Wouldn't it be 100% certain that given enough time, you'd become a rich person? And conversely, even if you were already a millionaire, if you started to think like a poor person, feel like a poor person, and act like a poor person, wouldn't you be 100% certain to lose your money and become a poor person? This is the quantum jump. Now, some people are going to hear this and say, yeah, but Dave, if I were already worth $100 million, I'd be sitting on a yacht. I can't sit on a yacht right now. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about pretending that your current circumstances are different than they actually are. I'm talking about the ways that you could be thinking, your approach to life, your belief systems, how you give yourself permission to feel, the decisions that you're making, and the ways that you'd be showing up on a day-to-day basis that would be different if you were already living from this new identity, because those are available to you right now. You don't need the $100 million in order to stop worrying. You don't need the relationship in order to stop people-pleasing. You don't need the successful business in order to stop believing that you have to do things perfectly. You can practice those things now. And when you do, you're practicing the identity that naturally produces a different set of decisions, a different set of behaviors, a different set of relationships, a different set of opportunities, and ultimately Produces the results that you want to produce. I had a client who gave me a really simple example of this. He said, if I were making more money, I'd tip more generously. And I said, well, can't you tip more generously now? And he could. I'm not saying go spend money you don't have. I'm saying that if there's a behavior available to you right now that is congruent with the identity of the person that you're becoming, practice it. Because in that particular moment, his best business plan might actually have been to tip more generously. Think about that. Your best plan is to practice the version of you that already has the thing that you want, because that version of you is going to think differently. That version of you is going to feel differently. That version of you is going to make different decisions. That version of you is going to notice different opportunities. That version of you is going to interact with people differently. And those are the plays that ultimately produce the results. And this is really what I mean by quantum jumping. You don't have to wait until someday in the future to become this person. You identify the version of you who's already living the reality that you want, and you begin practicing that identity now. So this 3-step process gives you a map. What is it that I want to achieve? How am I being, thinking, feeling now that's incongruent with producing those results? And what change in behavior, thoughts, and emotions would I need to make in order to embody the identity that already has it? This is what the great mystic Neville Goddard meant when he talked about living from the wish fulfilled. So instead of asking, what do I have to do to get these results? You start asking, who would I be if I already had them? And then you look at every opportunity that you have today to practice being that person. Not when the money comes, not when the business succeeds, not when you find the relationships, but now, because you don't become that person after you create the result, you create the result By becoming that person first. And I know I used to hear this a lot in personal development. It was so confusing for me. And this is the way I had to Dave-explain it to myself. So let's make this practical. Just not another thing that motivates and inspires you. I want you to take one of those goals that you've come up with. I want you to look at the identity that's currently trying to achieve it. Look at the plays that you're currently running, and then ask yourself, if this were already done, who would I be? How would I think differently? What would I believe differently? How would I feel differently? What would I stop doing in terms of my behavior? What would I start doing? And what could I do differently today? Because that's identity shifting. That's living from the wish fulfilled. And whether you want to call it reality transurfing or quantum jumping, or simply changing the psychology through which you're creating your life, that's how you stop creating your future from the identity that's created your past. Does that make sense? And look, there are literally, maybe there are literally multiple dimensions of reality and we're shifting between them. Maybe Zeland was right. Maybe Neville was right. Or maybe identity shifting works because changing your beliefs and what you notice and how you feel actually produces different results in your life. I don't know, but here's what I know. You don't have to wait for the result to give yourself permission to become the person you think the result will turn you into. That person is available to you right here, right now. So again, my invitation, choose one goal, identify one way the old version of you has been trying to create it, and then ask yourself, if it were already done, who would I be today? And go practice that person. And if you want some help, man, I've got a free tool for you. It's in the description of this episode.
