In this passage, Paul shares will the gentiles, that they (and we) are not some afterthought in God’s mission; He has had us on his mind since before the foundations of the world. This is the mystery of the gospel, that God saves those who don’t deserve and don’t belong and makes them part of his family. When we understand that, and see that our stories are a part of God’s story, we learn that our stories are defined by grace, love, and value––our stories become gospel stories.
